In the brain's operations, two things are easily visible:
verbal thought, and the ability to be aware of thought.
There is however a third -- not so easily seen.

According to legend, there was once a man who reached such an advanced state
of consciousness and understanding that everything he knew turned into the
one question of "how is it that I decide what to do next?"

...('Tis also alleged that the local mystics' society threw him out.)

To pursue reality with thought is to be deluded;
to perceive reality without thought is to be enlightened.

One man's persistent question to himself:
"The Great Liberation' from what?"

Pretending to deceive yourself is never of benefit -- never, that is.

Anything you can't touch doesn't exist,
and anything that doesn't exist is irrelevant.

And one man would sing,
"If I had a hammer, I'd believe in hammers."
