Lecturer-With-A-Machine-Gun
Edition
|
A lecturer with a machine gun has certain advantages,
and certain disadvantages.
A man went to see one reputed to be wise and asked him, "What is your teaching?"
And he replied, "I have none."
And the man insisted, "But by your reputation for wisdom you must have."
And he replied, "All right, I do, I have three thousand teachings."
Then the man complained, "That is far too many for me."
And he said, "All right, then I have a thousand teachings."
And the man shook his head, "No, still too many."
And he said, "All right, then I have a single teaching."
"Ah," exclaimed the man, "now we get somewhere."
"And what is this one teaching?"
"That I have none," he replied.
("Ah, shit," muttered the man under his breath, "I should've seen that comin'!")"Daddy, tell me again, how can you know that you're getting somewhere?"
And he knocked the kid down and kicked him in the head, as the lad sighed to himself,
"I saw that one comin' from a mile away."So remember, all you parental types out there, don't just slap the bejesus out of your children,
make 'em love it; make it mean something; keep 'em from ever asking you anything again!
That's how to be a friend.
"See," said a man to his dog, "the trick to understanding secret instructions regarding talk
is to become aware that all talk is to oneself."
"Arf," said the dog in expression of agreement. "Arf!"
The verbal brain, being able to exercise control over instincts,
came to believe it could do likewise, itself.
This is known as, The Great Confusion And Grand Illusion.Athletes remain more admired than thinkers, even among thinkers.
You figure it out.
