All Cassandras have but a single warning --
all Chicken Littles see but one threat. To be "famous" you must be famous for one thing.
...Does anyone reading this care to apply what's just been
said to a consideration of how the human mind normally operates -- and
thusly operates to limit the scope of its own operations?Over in Neural City, one of the more successful legal enterprises, representing men's apparent passionate interests, is the firm of Huff, Bitch, and Whine.
Oh -- we interrupt our broadcast to bring you this late-breaking news from the battlefronts all over the world, which has been datelined "Today" for the last seven thousand years (perhaps it's best for the frail, the brittle, and those of deep mental sensibilities to sit down for this): "Notice To All Civilian Cortical Populations -- The pursuit of preferences will always be followed by -- bad news!"
Now, back to the normal crap -- news.(And then one man asked himself, "Do you have any idea what I'm talking about?"
And had to answer himself truthfully.)..And now, fer sure! -- back to the news.
No man has a history without him thinking about himself –
and he has none with other people, save they think about him also.
Think about it. To be "a man with no history" – is frightening to most, fascinating to a few.
A 'leven foot cotton sack, singing the blues regarding the person it must support attached thereto. The thinking of men that runs in line, in sequence, in time,
runs nowhere.
This is how the wheel of the mind is able to
push itself from the rear.
If you wish not to awaken from confusion, uncertainty, stupidity, and unsatisfying
dependence on the ideas of others, then by all means never turn
the bright morning light of your own mind back on its slumbering self.
Those who do not see are simply those who do not try to see. There are two train stations, each with its own particular reading material available for waiting passengers.
One station has only works of fiction, news periodicals, and nonfiction writings,
while the other one furnishes nothing but the literary metaphorical.
(In other words, in one place reading is an intellectual waste of time,
while in the other at least you have a fighting chance.)
