One
man puzzled:
“I
do not know whether to be encouraged over intellectuals’ growing use of
fictional
characters’ ideas to bolster important philosophical points,
or
be crushed and dumbfounded.
Whichever
is the proper response will show either them or me to be
behind
the times.”
Life
prodded one man: “Shilling is not a laid-back activity.”
The
thought appeared in one man's consciousness:
“Am
I coming-apart before my very eyes?!”
And
his partner chimed in:
“Better yours than someone else’s.”
“For
once old chum – you be wrong.”
“Hah! – what d’you mean: for
once!”
Then
suddenly listening to all-of-this-cum-his-self the man said:
“It
is true – I am coming completely apart.”
Moral:
A delayed reaction is better than no delayed at all.
In
the city there are two things men can discuss:
their
self or what others have said about them.
(“God! I love this place!”)
An
e-mail just came in:
“Can’t
help noting that people-talking-about-their-self gets pretty rough treatment
at
your hands, so tell me this: how do you explain the fact that men never
speak so spontaneously passionate as when talking about themselves?
Huh?
– answer me that!
Yours
(Sans Any Sham Humility)” etc.
Sometimes,
in what he would somehow think of as an attempt to cleanse-his-mental-palette,
one man would turn on his television set, CD player,
the
three radios he had in the room and his police scanner,
all
at the same time as he would walk in circles trying to stop thought.
If
man is not individually consciousness, is there a substitute for consciousness?
– yes! – talk.
Opines
one fellow:
“A
favored idea without hand gestures
is
like salad dressing without a sicillian road map.”
When
hormones are upset and want neurons to manifest it,
they
don’t care what verbal pretext neurons use.
First
thing upon opening his eyes every morning one man says:
“So!
--
nap time again, eh?!”
One
man said to life:
“I
note that being laid-back is not the proper approach to shilling.”
Another
email just arrived:
“I
too object to your assaults on fiction, after all, it is nothing less than
the consciousness of man attempting, via words, to make some sense of the
non-sense,
the
chaos, the mystery and confusion that is the very nature of life!
-- and
of course failing --
but: What the hell!
-- what
d'ya want out of man anyway!
Sincerely,”
and so on.
No
need to be upset if the satire of a thing overtakes and becomes the reality
of
the thing --
this just evidences either a strong satire, or a weak thing.
Some
Savvy Show Biz Advice.
A
veteran performer told a new comer to the live program:
“If
something goes wrong, don’t apologize for it – make fun of it.”
(And
the Director immediately got on the studio’s intercom to announce that
no
one else on the set should heed this suggestion.)
After
some reading in evolutionary biology,
one
guy pondered the ponderousness of it all: “Just think:
Men
of even greater stupidity than we walked the earth before us! –
think about it!”
To
be alive and conscious is to shill.
In
Re Indigestion.
Never
blame your intestines for what your stomach did;
never
blame your stomach for what your mouth did;
never
blame your mouth for what your eyes did,
and
never blame your eyes for what your brain did, and of course: never
– EVER blame your poor-widdle-brain for ANYTHING!
(There, there, little brain.)
You
can test if your ordinary consciousness is working okay by asking yourself:
Do
I still enjoy hearing people say what they like about me?
Stage-presence
is very important – if no one wants you on their stage.
Consciousness
spawns technology; technology solves problems;
consciousness
spawns culture; culture creates problems;
all
solvable problems are physical; all intangible ones are insolvable;
consciousness
and talk are operationally synonymous.
All
insolvable problems arise from talk – what else need the certain
man realize!?
