As
soon as children become operationally verbal they start making up rules
& rituals
for
themselves & their playmates, and when they enter school and start
on the
fast
track to adulthood, they commence their life long unquestioning submission
to publicly promoted social, civic, and religious rules & rituals already
in place –
ask
yourself: why? – (and furthermore): men from the primitive
to sophisticated faithfully follow rituals which clearly do not produce
their promised results,
yet
in them they persist – and with apparent great pleasure
– why?
What
is it that life, by instilling in man this fascination with rules &
rituals,
wants
from him – no, let us be more precise:
what
is it that life wants from his consciousness? –
for
without consciousness, there are no rules & rituals.
Bonus
Ponder: For a ritual to be viable it
must be taught in words;
it
cannot be mutely shown; it must be conveyed in words – but
then again:
for
everything in man’s cultural, religious, political, intellectual &
artistic reality to exist, it must be verbally described.
Question:
How can a situation so singularly volcanic be so totally ignored?
(“Phew! I was afraid you were going to say: consciously ignored.”)
Concerning
the claim commonly heard in the city professing man’s impending destruction
of the planet, one chap mused:
“How
can the environment destroy the environment.”
(He
ultimately decided this was a question more appropriate for the planet
to ponder. [As if planets don’t have better
things to do!])
Regarding
its twin hemispherical construction, an unusually perceptive
consciousness
might picture normal men as mentally having a: “right brain,”
and
a “left-foot-in-a-bucket-of-slop brain.”
(Or
as one man puts it: “The idiot giveth – and the imbecile taketh
away.”
[Seems
fair enough.])

Awakening:
(Regarding The Practical Side).
No
one knows specifically how to awaken – even the man awake;
all
he knows now is what being awake results in.
Sometimes
when alone at home and in a silly mood, one regularly manly guy,
as
he walks from one room to another, will suddenly swish & sashay like
the
world’s biggest sissy – then afterwards think, sheepishly
& suspiciously:
“I
sure do that well for it to just be an act ” –
then one day further mused:
“But
I also often appear to be astoundingly dense –
when
we all know for certain that I'm not --
right?!”
About their lives: the dumb always feel defensive.
On
a faraway nascent world (which never achieved its full potential) at 9:
45 AM, fourteen thousand hours after its creation, all the creatures there
stopped what
they
were doing and stood at attention – their cells awaiting further
instructions – which have yet to come.
(“Sounds suspiciously like the world in the conscious area of my brain.”)
To
the certain man (securely on the way to the great
destination):
everything
sounds “suspiciously-like.”
About their lives: the undernourished always feel uncertain.
Though
he started out planning to go by bus --
one man ended up on a ship,
and
the purser noted that while the tickets are not comparable –
the journey is.
Awakening:
(Regarding The Intellectual Side).
No
one knows what being awake is
until they are.
In
the commons at city college a man was arrested for hawking what he claimed
was
an
aphrodisiac-for-the-mind;
it
was
not that the neural nostrum was known not to work,
but
rather that officials feared it might.
The
knowledge available to those in prison is thinking-with-the-life-left-out-of-it.
A
city father with a family in the fourth ward advised his scion suchly:
“In
life you’re going to find that some people are more like themselves than
anyone
else – not many – but some, and if
you’re not one
of them --
don’t
bother coming back here after you’re physically grown.”
Awakening:
(Regarding The Emotional Side).
No
one knows what being awake is until they are --
and
then all they know is what it feels like.
Mules
have their own philosophy of life
(but
as you might expect: they keep it pretty much to themselves).

To give people something to blame for man’s dumbness besides his
