Abstracts Regarding Inner Quasimodos Who've Straightened Up
OCTOBER 3, 2004                                                                    © 2004: JAN COX

In the routine world: those whose inherent mental operations are slower than yours, you see as being dumbasses;
those whose activity is faster than yours, you don’t really see as such;
you see them more as being smartasses.
(They, by the way, see you as a dumbass.)

If a hawk wandered into the land of worms he would only squawk to hear himself talk, (and any worms who paid any attention to it would only do so to criticize him).
(Let’s hear it for The Arrangement.)

Ordinary people only have one thing to fret over: How they look.
(Let’s hear it for the hoi!)

Humans invented and pretend to believe in luck,
as a substitute for facing the fact that snakes will bite you, and sugar makes you fat.

A rebel camp’s resident ophthalmologist noted:
“Everyone’s inner sight is by nature less than perfect,
and if you have not yet discovered this for yourself, you do not belong here.”

Those imprisoned in a cow costume have no choice:
they must imitate one another.

What’s a sweeter move than consciousness saying on behalf of men:
“We will understand all the imponderables AFTER we die.”
“We will know the answers to all the questions which confound us now, after we die.”
(Not Sears’, Macy’s nor Nordstrom’s  –   nobody’s guarantee can catch up to this.)

Whenever one man would hear a news story that began with the words:
“Those who witnessed the event were stunned.....”
he always would have the same reaction: “They’re watching me think again.”

One chap says that every time he calls his local takeout for consciousness, they ask: “Will that be paper or plastic.”

One man’s description to the diagnostician: “I get acid indigestion every time I think.”

One guy says the trick is to attractively arrange the throw pillows of your mind.

Everyone has a story to tell (if pressed).
Suggestion: Don’t press a person who’s just taken a laxative.

Periodically a representative of local reality (dressed as a conductor)
would walk through the passenger cars and announce:
“All of those holding a ticket and a normal sized consciousness
not only may remain on board  –   you MUST!”
Definition.
A nervous-system-rebel: Someone who voluntarily runs along side a
perfectly good train.

To get-by in prison: the dark must always be respected.
Definition.
The certain man: Someone to whom black & white mean nothing.
(“Maybe he should see an eye doctor?!”)

A father said to a son:
“After man originally departed the silent eden garden of consciousness,
the first verbal city he established he named: ‘Who knows,’ which aptly captured
the intrinsic inquisitive nature of consciousness concerning the physical world;
men later however, failed to come up with an alternative epithet to distinguish
the area when it was not being so utilized.
Thus for instance, did religion become hopelessly mingled with science.”
“But on the contrary  --  they are at loggerheads.”
“Same thing.  Sometimes I fear that you’re not getting this.”

Certainty and uncertainty regarding all intangible matters are the same thing.

When consciousness has been extended in the brain beyond what was for you,
its natural scope: you find that each morn  –   the cock crows twice.

One Type Of View From The Cranial Area.
After cancer had caused the removal of a leg, a lung, one eye, part of the stomach ,
and half a liver, one man’s consciousness surveyed what had occurred below,
and smugly said to itself:
“If I can survive long enough, they’ll run out of things to remove.”

Conversation.
“Something is wrong  –   something is always wrong  –
if something didn’t seem to be wrong even the sharpest among men
(those seeking enlightenment) wouldn’t be doing so.”
“But what you call something wrong might seem to them like something else.”
“You know, I never looked at it like that.”

A rebel wolf addressed the pack:
“A good leader can have no morals  –
and may I assume you understand this to be a positive comment  –
an honorable observation?!”   (And all the hairy submissive neurons nodded.)
In outlier’s territory: The dark is not only not respected --  it goes unacknowledged.

What idiot takes the trouble to note the bitterness of limes!?

“Pa pa: can people actually be idiots, or just their consciousness?”
          “WHO SAID THAT?”

If you allow consciousness to contain your thoughts to just that which others say
they understand, there is no doubt that you will be  –   quite-contained.

He concluded his remarks with these words:
“Is man meant to but eat, screw and struggle for dominance?  –
if so: why has he consciousness  –
with which to raise an entirely different kind of hell than can those three activities!?!”
