Stories From All Around The Inner World
______________________________

Having something to prove, proves that you’re a fool.

Things which have no side effects have no effects.
(The only exceptions to this are placebos and waking-up.)

Don’t fret over the temperature or the cost of fiberglass --
your own inner voices are all the insulation you’ll ever need.

Question: Why do men so constantly claim that they are trying to live
according to some plan?
The Facts: It is impossible to live according-to-some-plan,
which is why men say that they are trying to do so.
In man's intangible realm: assertions are as good as, and often better than, reality.
(“But how can that be?   That can’t be!    Why did you have to say that!”
Question: What’s the harm in telling Cinderella she looks slimmer,
whether it’s true or not?
And a local god muttered: “Don’t get any cute ideas.”)

The Final Word On Fashion.
As he skipped along, one creature sang:
     “Off the rack,
       off the rack,
       all of us here are
       off the rack.”

One man fresh from the asphalt mines opines:
“If you listen carefully to ordinary people speak, you could reasonably conclude that they use language as a substitute for thinking.”
(He readily admits how improbable this sounds, and says in the midst of these
instant daily reports seems to him the very spot for it.)

One man thought: “I have a crazed monkey under my shirt,”
but as you all know, it was the shirt and monkey talking.

An individual’s dream: the community’s project;
the community’s dream: an individual man’s peril.
Corollary: There are two ways to help your fellow man: physically and imaginarily.
(Note: The latter is the mainly sought.
“You've just pointed out another thing about man which makes no sense at all.....
.....I think it best I just ignore it.....
.....that’s what everyone I know would do.....so: No thanks.”)

Nothing makes this one guy feel as happy and alive as drugs  --
some sort his consciousness can get his brain to momentarily produce
whenever he thinks about it.
(“Okay: now that’s the kind of thing I DO like to hear about.....almost.....
.....until I start thinking too hard about it.”)

On one world: a man who measures his drinks is not considered really thirsty.
(“And that’s the type of place that can bite-me!           Unless you have its address.”)

Whenever it suddenly turns cloudy  --  one man rushes outdoors.
    “To get a shade tan?”
Who told?!
The healthy glow displayed by a few comes from their having reversed the positions
of the environment and their innards.
If you don’t swallow yourself  --  the planet will do it for you.
The Universe and Life had long been just sitting around,
‘til one day Life finally said something or the other and the Universe instantly snapped:
“SHUT THE HELL UP!”
And off in the distance the singing, skipping creature could be heard:
    “Atoms, atoms,
      it’s all just atoms,
      some of us talk, but
      we’re all just atoms.”
(“Is that supposed to offer some sort of cold-cocked comfort?     --      to the cranially cringing?”)

Recently one fellow was so suddenly struck inside his head:
“There may not be such a thing as individual consciousness.”
For all practical purposes a solitary ant is a non entity:
only a colony is of consequence.

A man who continually describes what he is trying to do,
is not certain  what he is trying to do.
One way to keep Moby off your back is to incessantly point & yell: “Thar she blows!”
(“Now hold on: does that mean that the only people who may have actually met
supernatural/extraterrestrial creatures are those who never say they have?
I’ve always heard that you can’t prove a negative  –
but I’ve yet to ever see solid evidence to back up the claim.
[Totally off the subject, but you know: I always did have some concern over the possibility
that by thinking too hard or too much that a man might could drive-his-self-crazy --
         I mean, no-big-deal  –   it's not like I sit around worrying about it.....but it has crossed my.....uh,
         what-cha-call-it.....uh  –  mind!”])

While on a corner awaiting city transportation, a guy suddenly wondered if
waking-up is anything like a sex change operation for consciousness?!
(“Thank god,” he sighed, when the sight of a bus broke up his reverie.)

Another chap visiting the city’s butonical gardens (whilst fingering a rose)
reflected on whether the struggle to awake might be anything like doing
stem cell research on your own consciousness?!

Conversation.
“What in the wooly wide world ever motivated humans to come up with the notion that a man can drive his self crazy?”
    “Guess.”

Variation On A Previous Story.
One man was thus mentally hit:
“What if there is no such thing as individual-consciousness?! --
and talking is a substitute for thinking?!”

A father said to a son:
“If all a person employed in their execution of man’s everyday civilized existence
was pertinent information, they would be no better off with it than without.
Specific details about certain matters are irrelevant.
(Need we into this affair, go deeper?)”
“Ah hah! pa pa: a trick trip wire at the end again.”

Being of ordinary consciousness is like being in prison and locked in a ping pong game that never ends.

In the city: humor lacking hostility isn’t found funny.
Hives will laugh where a single bee will not.

Later that afternoon the elder approached the boy again:
“Ponder this: On one world, what others think of you doesn’t cost them anything  –
is this a matter of: Turnabout’s Fair Play?.....or maybe: You Fell For It Again?”
“I’ll surely regret asking, but tell me anyway: fell for what exactly, again?”
The elder suddenly began to pretend he was doing a crossword puzzle and asked for the word appropriate to his query: “What do you call it when you state for the first time something that has been clearly evident to everyone forever?”

All dogs have some good advice for fleas.

Just around the corner from where you’re staying now is an inventor
who proposes to put a bell on lack-of-reward  to hopefully increase the possibility
of people ever getting anything useful from it.
Though never recognized: man’s spiritual/cultural realm is the exception to a basic
law of physics, inasmuch as any amount desired can be added or removed from
any affair therein without it making any difference:
this fact alone places all of its activities into the rarefied strata of the truly-special.
(“See, Marty  –   I knew there was something noteworthy about
religion/politics/literature/philosophy and art   --   I just knew it!”
Note: In different areas there are different concepts of, noteworthy.
Note II: Areas are not confined to physical geography.)

Reality has nothing to prove  --  only men's thoughts about it do.

One man in private often stands at the very edge of his universe,
and cries out into the endless endlessness:
“Are you there?   Are you there?”  –   and it always is.

Reality has nothing to prove  --  only men's thoughts about it do.

The ultimate prison for the few is in consciousness being kept away from the rest of the brain.
