DISTANCES ARE DIFFICULT TO JUDGE
FROM INSIDE A CELL

Reports On Both Micro & Macro Illusory Imprisonment

To get air play on city stations songs should be less than four minutes long,
and facts always conditional.
Mentally, everyone’s best face time is with the thoughts that show up in their
own brain; like acquiescing to dance with the person suddenly standing before you  –
who (as it unnoticeably turns out) is the only other person in your ballroom:
this is what makes all facts arising from city based consciousness conditional:
they are dance steps performed by half a team:
crippled, impaired views of what is going on  –  and they cannot be otherwise.
Only the nervous system rebel whose consciousness is in a cleared out neural area with all windows and egresses open, is mentally free to grasp all of life’s
seemingly fragmented activities in their wholeness.
      In this terpsichorean fee
      it’s either a recluse or self wed be.
     (And in the land of symbolism: all antipodals are interchangeable.)

In their talk, everyone is continually stating the obvious –
though they register it not.

The Ultimate Medical Ad: “Why let death interfere with your life!”
The Paramount Pitch For Awakening: “Why let a genetic temperament
                                                                   disrupt your consciousness?!”

A boy asked his dad:
“Is that indescribably delectable tingle I get down in my sex parts
when I’m really excited that produces a combination of smiling and slack jawedness
anything like what waking up does to the higher areas of your nervous system?”
    “Whatever are you talking about?!”  he replied.

If you get up slow –  you can fall down fast.

There is one absolute requirement to achieving the great liberation:
 you must constantly have the jump on yourself.

One man lost all interest in the ad for a home study enlightenment course when it said he could study at his own pace  –  “Ha! –   what kind of fool do I take me for!”

Another guy says the benefit of realizing what's totally going on over say
being a buddhist, a socialist, or sufi is that you can do it laying down.

On The Inner Battlefield.
In conflicts concerning non physical matters:
a man’s fear is in direct proportion to his opponent’s enthusiasm;
(Jack’s fight manager was more jacked up than the Giant’s).
Physical warriors dread only physical foes;
the combative thoughts of ordinary consciousness, everything that verbally moves;
thus is the nervous-system-rebel secretly both his best and only adversary,
and silent cheering section as well.

When a man is told he is terminally ill, it is at first frightening;
but after a period of time the condition becomes merely boring.
   (“Not unlike being of ordinary consciousness, huh?!”)

When the traveler penetrated the cellular wall from one area to a fresh other,
he was confronted with a sign:
“Welcome To Our First Annual Clearance Sale,
Wherein You  –   Yes You  –  Have Already Been Marked Down.
(To Your More Appropriate Price, It Might Be Noted.)”

All mental forays taken far enough eventually turn on themselves;
one legged dancers twirling about the room serenely oblivious to the actual origins of their circular movement.
(Distracted leopards who when asked, explain their spots as an act of will.)

While discussing one thing, one chap found he could discuss another.
Noted a prisoner: “The walls in this cell are so thin that you can hear everything else going on in this place     (once you discover the trick).”

Those who don’t understand what’s going on (if they live long enough)
inevitably begin to talk about god, and explain it as a result of their wisdom increasing,
the older they become and closer to death they get,
and it fits sufficiently well to be taken in without objection by those who hear it,
and who also don’t understand what’s going on.

A self styled sooth sayer was fond of soothing:
“The dead can see things that we cannot,”
and one day someone said to him: “Hell!  --  so can the living.”

If you get up fast you can fall down slow.

One recent day a man mused:
“Living in a city apartment, jammed up against everyone else is not what it once was
to me......I wonder if it has come time for me to move?......or something?”

At the collective level: all verbal rituals ultimately serve to distract men from
the proposed goal for which their practice was initially conceived.
(Men engage in elaborate prayers to gods they have named
in order to keep their minds off of their consciousness.
    “And don’t it work nicely!”)

Two Voices Play A Quiz Game.
“Question: What is worse than living in a daze?  –
Answer: Discovering that you don’t have to  –  and still doing it!”
    “Is, worse really the operative word here?”
“No, but it was the worst one I could think of.”
What works with ordinary consciousness is what life clearly intends to work.
    “Is, clearly the proper word here?”
For those with unimpaired vision it is.

Definition.
The past: A form of non physical indigestion.
(Much of what men intangibly consume does not seem to agree with them.)
One chap says the absolute funniest notion he has ever heard is someone say that
this or that purely human thing some other person did, “didn’t agree with them.”
  (“So it is true,” muses another man, “a leopard can change into a nice herringbone.”)

The soul of the city sings:
    “I be hip,
      I be cool,
      I don’t be nobody’s fool” –  which is true enough  –  in its setting;
      for there is no spotting of yellow by canaries in a lemon storm.

A prisoner pondered: “If my thoughts weren’t packed so closely together
I might have room to actually breathe,” but then again sir:
if your breaths weren’t so jammed tight  –  you might have room to think.
What the ordinary so dislike about the stick of unconventional ideas is that they can be grabbed and held from either end  --  and turned both this way and that.

Conversation.
“Are you an enlightened master?”
    "Yes  --  except when my batteries are run down."
And since they had just been discussing the control of attention
they both understood what they were really talking about.

A self professed medium was fond of incessantly declaring:
“The dead can see things that we cannot even imagine,”
'til finally one day his apprentice said to him: “Hell dude! --  so can the living!
(Plus, you look more like a Small to me.)”

When a man read a study that said overweight teenagers were the most frequent bullies and also the most likely TO be bullied, he said to his routine thoughts: "See!"

Definition II.
Talk: The construction of an inner reality  –   which, when operating properly,
is forgotten to be a fabrication.

One man had a telescope which could make things seem up close or far away:
it accomplished this miraculous feat by  --  talking to him.
   Ordinary  defined: To be ordinary is to listen to such talk.
.

Weakness.
The weaker he got  --  the weaker he became.

If you get up just right  –  you aren’t required to fall back down.

Privately, one man likes to wrap up every personally profitable day with the line:
“And having missed the last bus  –  I walked myself home.”

J

“Remind me again of that exciting and liberating feature of consciousness that is also extraordinarily annoying”
pleaded the kid, “Okay,” replied the ole man,
“Consciousness has two operating modes: Automatic, and the other one,”
and the lad grinned like a freshly fucked possum.
