Cognitive
Tip For Subversive Swains Of Philosophy.
The
initially impressive intellects of all famous thinkers turn suddenly coy
when
automatic connections peter out.
A
father said to a son:
“With
adequate, unnatural knowledge of what goes on naturally in your consciousness
you can profit from having this pointed out: notwithstanding any material
problem you may have mentally solved, there is not an idea in you that
is original;
every
thought you have you got from some outside source;
if
it weren’t for other people you would have no ideas, no mental images,
no memory, in fact; your ordinary consciousness contains nothing that you
created, or discovered;
remove
the ideas of others and your consciousness would be literally blank.
The
reality of this is simple but nearly impossible to grasp,
in
that man’s consciousness feels
itself to be something apart from the ideas in it:
it
is like trying to tell a bowl in which a salad of ideas is tossed,
that
it is by nature an empty-bowl
(consciousness with no original
ideas) but for it to ponder the idea that it is empty, it must employ borrowed
salad fixings (ideas) which, once they are present, seem to clearly give
lie to the notion of its emptiness;
so
the essential emptiness of consciousness seems to be untrue,
inasmuch
as it appears to be thinking about the possibility.
It
is an unteachable skill to make a ladder realize its rungs are imaginary,
when
it is precisely they which make the ladder rigid and useful.”
“Can a man ever have a thought that is actually original?”
“At
moments when consciousness is aware of its own nature.”
“Only then?”
“Only
then.”
(And
one chap injects: “Well, it’s nice there is at least one thing you can
be certain of.”
“Not necessarily,” muttered a guy on death row.)
One
man’s motto for everything that happens in life: “There, there.”
As
the ad kept running that proclaimed: “If you have suffered severe financial
losses
in
the recent wall street scandals and need to rebuild your portfolio but
cannot afford any further losses, we have brand new, cutting edge investment
strategies that will assure you of maximum profits while fully protecting
you from any additional losses,”
one
man’s consciousness finally groused:
“I
sure wish people would stop making fun of me like that!”
Conversation.
“Only
those in touch with their feelings can awaken.”
“What does that mean?”
“Garbage
dumps burn.”
In
spite of its widespread popularity, one man only suffers lower back pain
if
he bends over to think while allowing his congenital consciousness to run.
In
routine prison life and man's second reality affairs:
only
those who believe they have something to lose --
have anything to lose.
You’re
not faced in the right direction until the way your consciousness
automatically
reacts to what it hears begins to either frighten or disgust you.
If
a man actually fit the definition of a hero, and someone ever told him
he was theirs, his only possible response would be to tell them that
they should have no hero
other
than their own inner potential.

Special Embezzlement.
From
his certain private business, the real-deal-man sucks out all the profit.
Trying
to awaken is trying to disable a safety mechanism
built
into man’s consciousness.
What
makes man different is that one part of his nervous system can speak;
what
makes him weird is that only one
part can.
(Chew
and digest this and there is nothing more to look for on the table.)
Those
who don’t know the Big Secret always
think it is complex and abstruse
just
because it can’t be seen or touched –
which
is the major clue-in-your-blind-face to what it is.
You
can, with soundness and substance, veracity and validity, efficacy and
authority, look upon the struggle to awaken as: an unnatural use of consciousness;
you
can if you want to – who’s going to stop you! –
certainly not the part of your brain you’re presently utilizing to read
this
(at
least we can hope that’s
what you’re employing).
There’s
a chap who never fails to get a chuckle every time he hears one
mattress
manufacturer’s ad that asks: “Having trouble sleeping?”
One
man offers this:
“If
you have deep dealings with any of the affairs in man’s second reality
and
you sometimes feel like you’re going crazy – there’s
your answer! –
so
don’t sweat it --
there is the explanation in full.”
(P.S.
One guy’s theory is that the
answer to everything is: How you
feel about it.
He
says he’s pretty sure this will never verbally catch on
although
everyone tacitly lives by it.)
In
prison they have a saying: “A theory a day keeps the warden away”
(though
most semi reasonable jailbirds will admit they aren’t truly confident of
what
it means) --
“But then again,” notes number 2469, “in here:
being
confident of anything is not really the name of the game.”
A
speaker in city park shouted: “The so called spiritual
men among us
who
take their sport seriously --
are a blight on the ass of humanity!”
and
a passer by stopped to counter:
“But
spirituality provides a quite civilizing influence on man,”
to
which the speaker replied: “So do blisters and boils –
but
I don’t want them on MY brain!”
(Which
moved a mole in a near by tree to muse: “B’lieve that about wraps it up.”)
In
prison: you know your work is completed when you have joined the majority.
(And
the tree tops began to softly croon:
“Country thoughts,
take me home,
to that state,
where I belong…”)
Lots
of people say they want to see,
but
not many want to look.
“Okay
ma'am, here’s the facts: some things that humans do require no actual effort:
they
just come natural;
then
there’s some other stuff that takes mental effort to achieve.”
“And sergeant, your point is?”
“Ma'am
– I can’t believe that you: a living, breathing, talking human
being said that.
Cuff
her, frank.”

If
you don't find private, irrepressible humor in being conscious of your
being alive, you're not getting it yet.
