Conversation.
“A lion who listens to outside opinions will forever be a lion,
(same with eagles and alligators).”
“But they will whether they listen to outsiders or not!”
“Ah! --  but not so with humans, and you not grasping that makes you inalterably --
what you are.”
All it takes to keep a tornado whirling or a quake shaking is a word.
(Aka: Human anger and fear are permanent in he with out-folded ears.
“I won’t waste our time by noting that I don’t get it.”)
One chap was startled to suddenly realize aloud in his head what everyone
silently certainly knows: that after hitting you, a Mercedes never apologizes.
(On one planet known as: T.B.T.: The Big Thus.)
Corollary.
Even if you’re publicly known for a talent: the more you talk about yourself,
the less confident you are that you deserve the reputation.

One man began writing under a nom de plume,
which became so well known that when people heard his real name mentioned
they assumed it was the pen name;
when the man pondered this he at first thought:
“So?!  --  what difference does it make?!”  --  but then realized (a la his private aim)
that it so-ed  a lot.

A certain king declared: "Those who pity me  --  I slay,"
and an out of town visitor inquired as to how many men had been so dispatched,
and the ruler replied: "None," a comment which the transient -- just for an instant -- felt had tried to tell him something.

Taking note of the standard arrangements concerning human ears and tongues
one guy notes:
“It is almost impossible for someone to make any comment about man
without it sound like they have a remedial plan in mind for him
that fact alone should shake even an ice berg out of its mental frigidity.”

Said a father to a son:
“If you are verbally attacked and feel any urge to respond  --  you are not the real deal.”

Mused a chap:
“What’s difficult is to know your motivations;
what’s easy is to advise others to do so.”

Any standards of the real deal man are different from those of everyone else.

One man keeps thinking: “What we need to awaken is some cutting edge technology,”  apparently in hopes that someone will come up with such.

During a meeting at City College's Faculty Center
a professor took charge of the podium and announced to the assembled:
"The best suggestion made thus far is the suggestion that hasn't thus far been made..."

No matter your species or place of birth: everyone feels  loyalty to cows and sheep.

As he read through the dictionary, one man found himself  --  many times over.

As exercise: one man turns on two radios to different stations and listens to both simultaneously;
on days when he feels especially frisky he will turn on two stations then attempt to hear a third something in his head.

Men who mark the milestones of their life by public events
have no private life worth noting.

Every morning one man looks at himself in the bathroom mirror and asks:
“Okay --  who died and left me in charge?”
In one unusual hospital they will not allow a patient into the O.R. for surgery
unless he looks happy to be there.

For years one guy enjoyed as good social advice:
“Don’t get sexually involved with people who have more  problems than you,”
and eventually saw its significance also in the maneuvering that goes on
inside his own mind.

Man’s first, and only useful advice, concerned farming:
after that: it’s all ox flop.

The Public's Press.
When you get to the bottom verbal line there are only two kinds of news stories:
farm reports & movie reviews.
(Sometimes called: hormones & neurons.)

The less of a self-realized self you have the better it is to be verbally and mentally
self absorbed: verbally self absorbed publicly, and -- mentally so in private.
("Hey --  if it’s gonna be done, somebody’s gotta do it.")
City Ballroom Suggestion.
Don’t dance with someone who has a butcher knife in their chest.
(Referring specifically to the: S. S. T.  --  The Self Spun Tango).

Dreams turned into deeds are either magnificent  --   or terrifying.

Epigram Update
Elegant action is eloquence.

Useful Urban Tip.
If you can’t understand what is going on in a particular situation, mention in an authoritative tone how the relevant demographics are in a state of flux.

Men who make fun of women sexually do so because they resent the power
women and sex have over them.
"Is this anything similar to why ordinary people can express such anger toward
      the nervous system rebel?"

Cows can’t actually be insulted  --  which is why they pretend so hard to be.

The difference between the thinking of an independently-conscious rebel's mind,
and that of humanity's collective consciousness
if that between a landscape, and a fog obscuring its view.

In Re City Commerce.
When it comes to advice, if you really know what would be best for another person to do, skip the middle man and become that  person.
Coronary.
If a man knew enough to be capable of giving objectively profitable advice,
he would know enough not to offer any.
If he looks wide enough: every skunk can find at least one other skunk
who will find him aromatic.

Seeming stability in ordinary men is the result either of habit or sluggishness.

In Awake Land (if there was such a locale): idolization is a synonym for ignorance.
Eloquence of understanding is an elegant self.

Muses one man: “If listening to people talk doesn’t make you want to wake up, nothing will.”
