IN THE CITY DRAMA:
ALL ROLES ARE WALK-ONS

The Non Union Method Of Straight-Up Performing For The Unsaggy
 APRIL 20, 2004                                                                       ©2004: JAN COX

Pachyderms do not have a monopoly on locales devoted to dying  --
your brain has one also  --  know where?
In related military news:
one chap, to confuse his foes, waves high a flag declaring:
“Don’t Give Up The Ship!” whenever he's on a train.
(He was also the one who once told his enemies not to fire until they saw
the white of his eyes  --   and then kept his I’s to himself.           [The sly dog.])
And in some pharmaceutical news:
to help combat his own inner opposition one man has independently developed blockers to his brain’s normalcy receptors.
And although not a guitarist nor member of an audience,
one man still often yells out to himself: “If you ever get that thing in tune  –  weld it!”
And in some operating room news:
taking a tip from a cosmetic surgeon who disposed of his useless self
to the benefit of releasing his more conscious version:
one man who was interested in bettering himself in all possible ways --

hung himself well.

The Business Side Of Waking Up.
You must continually take on additional work with an ever shirking work force.
Even two eyes are too many for he who would  see.
Long have the ordinary used the term: give-up-the-ghost to describe dying,
while to the real-deal-man it signifies something else.
    “Like: coming-in-from-the-shadows?!”
Something like that.
Show Biz News: The Performance Factor.
Once you step into the light and see clearly what is really going on
you realize that all your life you have been doing a sad satire of you.
(The man-who-knows has hoops jumping through him.)
Confab.
“The fearful  have intuition.”
    “You mean: imagination.”
“Yeah.”
“And you meant to say: the sleeping.”
“Right.”

Men classify certain written works as Classics because they cannot duplicate them,
(and note): it is considered a sign of superior intelligence for a living man to laud these works, though it be an admission that he lacks the intellect to produce one himself:
smarts as measured by one’s ability to suspect it in another:
like attempting to drink from a dry well that can at least sing the praises of water.
Man: The only animal that can live off such.
    “Man’s mind, you mean?”

Despite all their complaints, prisoners like doing time  --
how else you explain the normal human mental condition?
In a pack it doesn’t require brains to be top dog --  hell!
inside your head it doesn’t require much brains to be top brain.

How The Mind Can Bail Itself Out (Of Its Own Self Dug Holes,That Is).
A man who had been diagnosed with a fatal ill one day thought:
“Life sure was different before I learned I was dying,”
then realizing that he was on the verge of realizing the ridiculousness of the idea, halted his realizing  (you know, so’s not to spoil the fun).

Frequently after a producer had shown a new film to the studio boss he’d say:
“Okay; did I miss the joke?  --  was your intent to make the most boring movie ever made?  --   is that it?”  --
and only later did they realize he was not simply talking about images on celluloid.
(Which led to one man ultimately adopting as his personal slogan:
“Everybody’s ready when C.B. is.”
[“Hey! --  if you ever get that water parted like you want it --  weld it!”])

Men like referring to God, whether such a being actually exists is irrelevant --
man’s mind simply likes talking about such a thing:

       know why?

More Show Biz News.
Why are people so fascinated with acting?
‘Cause it’s one talent everyone practices.
    (“Then where’s my Oscar?”)

People who are self conscious are self conscious about not having a real self.

The ultimate irony is asking someone if they see the irony in a particular situation.
“What d’ya mean a particular?”                                                                                            Oh.”

Dialogue.
“Everything you  finally understand  takes on a poignancy.”
     “You’ve mislabeled understanding.”
“Jeeze!  --  why d’ya have to tell me that!  --  that’s exactly what I was talking about.”

Having thoughts that come from man’s collective menu is not real thinking --

unless you call eating somebody else’s leftovers: gourmet dining.

One guy says he has science and the universe figured out:
the law of gravity for instance, works when it’s to its advantage to do so.

Infected with a strange virus:
one man began to feel that the choices he normally makes are not his own.

When his mother cautioned him not to wear constricting clothing on vital areas,
one lad wasn’t sure if she referred to underwear or caps.
(If this was a normal family we’d know which.)

Epidemiological News.
In the only sense of interest to the real-deal-man: everyone is self infected.

Colloquy.
“If an attractive person and an unattractive person deliver the same message,
the former will be the one listened to.”
“Does this explain the popularity of religion and politics?”
“Something must.”

One man says that he has this to say to those who peruse the ideas of others:
“If your thoughts  --   by themselves  --   cannot provoke themselves  --
you ain’t got it!   –   and  you ain’t gonna get it.”               (Sounds a bit harsh, wouldn’t you say.)

Tete-A-Tete.
“Why are workers in government agencies all so happy?”
    “Why?”
“’Cause it’s not their money they’re spending.”
“When you said: government workers  I didn’t know you were actually
talking about brain cells and their everyday ideas.”

Those who don’t get it open their window on a winter’s morn and feel only cold air; those who suspect: feel metaphors,
and the few who actually know: feel exhilarated regardless the weather outside.

In his bathtub, one chap says he has discovered an organism which will
change totally man’s thinking about evolution.

One man is trying to install an automatic private translating device in his brain
so (as he puts it): “His thoughts will start making sense.”

The stupid and the awakened alone have no trouble making decisions concerning man’s many cultural matters; the stupid because they don’t know any better,
and the awakened for the same reason                                                (more or less.)

As his brain turns out its ceaseless flow of normal thoughts, one man constantly interrupts the process by saying to them:
“Wait! --  let me be sure I’ve got this straight.....”

One man feels fired up regardless of whether he is or not:
he is a super salesman, and --  his only customer.
