IN PRISON: EVERYTHING FALLS IN LINE,
BUT THE LINE LEADS NO WHERE

The Rout That Rejuvenates The Rebels
 APRIL 11, 2004                                                                      © 2004: JAN COX

Truth In Three Four Time.
Foolish people write serious music.
(“Isn’t it neat how so many things work out like this?!"
“Why do you limit it to: so many things?  -- open your eyes man!")

The Glaring Diagnosis That Never Ends, Yet Is Never Grasped (A Conversation).
“Whenever I do X -- Y happens: what causes this?”
    “Doing X.”
If the heart could stop beating it would never miss a beat,
and if the brain could stop thinking you would never have absurd thoughts.
(“And this modicum of wisdom is supposed to be of help?!”)

In certain parts of the city the unspoken, but guiding principle is:
“Be pissed  --  BE somebody!”

The Final Word On Absolution.
Only a dead man can forgive himself.
(“Why, may I ask, do you so often speak favorably of being dead? --
are you being paid off by the Mortician's Strong Arm Society?”)

Irony is the missing piece of the target shot at by city intellectuals.

Men who do not know-what-is-going-on are always desirous that others think them intelligent (and to such an end they will even play idiot savant) OR:
only he truly intelligent has no interest in people’s opinion of his intelligence.

Another Example Of The Mind’s Deep Love For The Tongue.
At least once a year, ninety four per cent of the world’s civilized population
will use the term: my financial portfolio,
while not one per cent of them have anything resembling such:
the mind just loves the sound of it.

Sheep enjoy being hospitalized, or under a vet’s long term care  --
it gives a patina of official justification for a life of regimentation.
Men may curse mobs, but will rush to join one as soon as they see it forming.
Scarce is the man satisfied to be but with himself.
        “Guess that requires something special.”
Yeah  --  understanding what’s going on.

At one time with one man’s inner mob the most popular game was:
“Who among us hasn’t…?”
which later modulated into: “Who among us?…”

Be clear on this: men do not really care what religion they follow,
or which political party is in power  --
their only interest is in having something to bitch and argue about.

Hormones & Neurons Continue To Duke It Out In The Ring Called: Man.
One guy was often complimented on his several interesting facets,
while another was equally lauded for his faucets;
one was more popular than the other during times of draught.
Notice:
To appease the gods: men offer as sacrifice: virgins & warriors  --
not painters and musicians.
    (“I don’t get it!”
Then guess which category you're in.)

The World’s Dumbest Thing To Point Out.
To many people: the hard part is: just getting started,
while no one finds stopping so.
(“Why did you even bother to mention it?!”
Would you ever have?)
Planet’s Stupidest Moral.
Just because something is so doesn’t mean it must be pointed out...............does it?
The Permanent Official Announcement for one city is:
“It has come to the Authorities' attention...”

Sheep love to be preached to  --  even if they don’t understand what’s being said.

Another Example Of How Mind Labels Everything What It WANTS It To Be.
In the city, what is deemed: important spiritual & psychological information
is but ad hoc suggestions for damage control.

Ever since Adam: everyone hears voices in their head;
ordinary people only hear one at a time --
which explains the shape Cain & Abel are presently in.

When routine men return home  --  they never know who they will find there,
(least that’s what they've been saying since the time of Homer);
this explains the disorder throughout the house.
Fact.
The certain man driven to live outside-the-book
has no interest in any explanations known to everyone else;
quick he catches on that the rain which falls on all -- will not nourish him.
The sooner you see to walk away from the fascinating, the captious, the specious
and always available mental banquet table laid out for mans’ collective consumption, the more time you will have to wander afar and find the special ambrosia that feeds
but the few and frees their mind from the captivity of the common narratives
and descriptions men accept as their history  --
and which constitute the scope of their consciousness and conception of life.

A doctor noted: “The neat thing about having illness as your profession is that
it makes you seem so personally removed therefrom.       (As long as you’re well, of course.)”
“Shame,” mused a man, “that being a priest or an intellectual does not
operate similarly on those who would want to be one,”
and a passing pine grove muttered: “How do you know it doesn’t.”

A man stretched out in the grass in city park remarked:
“It’s tolerable being poor  --  as long as you stay poor.”
No one is bothered by not living in Bali --  as long as they have never been there.
“Or been born with a valid suspicion of the place in their bones?”
Yeah, that too.
Thus be the city dweller’s best potential principle:
“Never Leave Home!        (Well  --  At Least Don’t Wander Far.)"

Q & A Time (In Lieu Today Of: T & A).
Question: In the wild pursuit of the balinese tiger: what is the actual danger of: allegories, metaphors, symbolism and humor?
Answer: That their intellectual consideration will keep you from the experience that initially gave rise to: allegories, metaphors, symbolism and humor?
“Okay  --  but in a certain way: isn’t that the danger in everything?”
Yes  --  particularly if the: in-a-certain-way that you mentioned happens to involve being a human being with a normally functioning mind.
“Well, Jeeze!  --  if that ain’t just the least bit discouraging!”
“Was Mr. Black discouraged to find that his partner in: Black & Decker was --
Mr. Decker?”
It is unenlightening to simply conceive of the mind as the enemy, after all:
what actual adversary would furnish you with an endless supply of fresh ammunition?!
(“Remember men: don’t shoot ‘til you see the white of their gray matter.”)
Men daily die by their hearts, livers and lungs turning on them,
but never from their mind doing so:
that only causes ambulatory imbecility (aka: standard issue consciousness).

One guy offers what he says is: “Damn Good Advice In The City:
If you do ever decide to try to go-back-home  --
give ‘em advance warning  --  believe me: it'll be best for everybody.”

When the rebel finally turns that certain corner to realizing what is really going on,
he will (in the briefest moment) personally relive the entire mental history of man;

he will then know what everyone else yearns to know but never do.
