How
Can You Waste Your Time Criticizing Man:
A
Creature Always Interesting And Often Hilarious
___________________________________
Every person has a job to do: Telling others how to live their life correctly.
One man puts everything he says in quotes – least anyone take him literally.
While
perusing magazines a man mused:
“I
just realized: all serious
writing in the city could be put under the single title:
‘I
Am Against _____ (Blank).’”
One man likes to sometimes think of himself as: The-hilariously-downtrodden.
The
Weight Of Words.
“At
the height of the troubles, a woman was reported with a pail.”
In the city, log rolling is not elective -- but mandatory.
Laughter doesn’t merely boost the immune system, but rather is immunity.
Conversation.
“The
most grating thing in the world is hearing an actor acting.”
“But with a good actor you forget that he’s acting.”
“I
don’t.”
“Wait! --
are you talking about actors or just ordinary people?”
The secret to being happy in life is in telling others how to be.
The
degree of the ordinary’s need for intellectual entertainment is reflected
in
their
following of sports:
they
will sit contentedly again and again, watching the same men play a game
in
which the same action repeats itself time after time
-- which is a perfect reflection
of their passive acceptance of whatever action occurs in their mind.
(The
great early mystic & urban showman, P.T.
Zorotoaster, long ago set down
the
basic requirements for the entertainment of the masses, which he called:
The
Path Of The Three Precepts Of Pastimes: (C.E.M.):
Custom,
Expectation & Monotony.
[Sometimes known
as: The Way Of Habit, Habit, Habit.])
One
man notes:
“What
waking
up does to your thinking
is
like fucking a woman while she’s doing gymnastics.”
Life
greets everyone – but most people are too snooty to respond.
(Also
known as: Everybody wants to go to heaven, but are pissed that they weren’t
there yesterday.)
Every
Monday morning at the weekly press conference,
one
reporter would ask the king the same question:
“What
would you do if you were in a coma?”
(Which
everyone present always found funny --
save the king --
who
for the life of him couldn’t see the humor therein.
“Pa pa: Is this why the only laughter in the cemetery can’t be heard –
‘cause it comes from the dead?”)
“My
gawd! -- what would happen to humanity
if
everyone stopped telling everyone else how to live their life!”
Conversation
Revisited.
“The
most grating thing in the world is hearing an actor acting.”
“But with a good actor you forget that he’s acting.”
“I
don’t.”
“Hold it! --
are you talking about yourself.”
“Bingo.”
The
Wait Of Words.
“At
the height of the troubles, a woman was reported with a pail.”
“A pale what?”
“I
thought you’d never ask.”
At
a recent council meeting, one man proposed that:
“All
thoughts carry an expiration date.”
In
the speaker’s area in the park, a man sobbing uncontrollably
was
finally able to coherently address the crowd:
“My
friends: being human is no crime --
no: what being human is…”
but
before he could finish his comments, he was arrested.
Contagiousness
And The City.
Hang
around people long enough and you’ll catch it too.
One
man says: “There is one universal, inescapable principle:
You
should read all books which say that your life will never be the same
after
doing so; you fail to do so at your own peril; don’t say you weren’t warned."
Plagues
And Herd Life.
Listen
to other people enough and you’ll be just like them.
Said
a man to a nephew:
“I
can tell you this for damn certain: the only advice that might be even
remotely
of any value would be about one subject only: sex.”
“But only an imbecile would need advice about sex.”
“I
cest my race.”
