The
Continuing Spy Tales Of The Man Who Refused To
Come
In From Himself
________________
One
man took his thoughts more seriously than everyone else in the world took
theirs, and finally asked himself: “What beneficial have I experienced
in doing this that others have missed?” and suddenly realized that
when it comes to their thoughts,
other
people do not actually experience
theirs --
“They
are vaguely aware that their thoughts are there,
but
as far as personally experiencing
them -- forget about it!”
One
man got all tangled up in life -- only to later realize that it was
actually his self,
(his thoughts,
actually) in which he had gotten himself entangled (forced-into
by life, actually).
One
man says: “I once fretted over whether there is any-way-out of all
this --
now
I chew contentedly on: Where-the-hell-is-the-entrance
to all this?!?”
One
man says: “I see now that you can live and not personally be aware
that you do –
--
same as with thinking.”
In
circumstances where others would pray -- one man would curse,
and
in circumstances where others would curse -- he would laugh,
and
in circumstances where others would laugh, he would puzzle:
“What
the hell do they
have to laugh about?!”
One
man says if he comes back reincarnated as anyone but himself that he will,
"shoot
the sonofabitch!"
Some
days one man dislikes himself more than anyone in the world,
but
then pulls himself together and makes up for it the next day by
disliking
other people a lot more than he does himself (and deservedly
so, he notes).
One
man is physically graceful when he
feels good, and clumsy when he doesn’t
(he says it’s
the same deal with his thinking......
.......[he also
asks if anyone knows how you can make yourself feel
good on demand?])
One
man used to have fits --
then
he morphed them into thoughts --
now
he has fit-thoughts.
(One man says the way you spot progress is that the word begins with,
P.)
One
man says: “You’re nobody ‘til somebody loves you --
and
then you’re just a nobody that somebody has the hots for.”
One
man says: “A person with their head full of their self
has
no room in there for anyone else -- thank god!”
Some
days one man had a burning in the pit of his stomach,
and
other days, one in his mind.
When
one man would negatively react to a thought that came into his head,
he
would say to himself: “Okay, if you don’t like that, check out:
Me.com.”
One
man says:
“Not
knowing what to do should be no bar to doing nothing, I mean -- something!”
One
man finds it awfully easy to get all wound-up,
but
asks -- “Then what?”
On
some days one man felt he was what he ate, and on other days, the opposite.
One
man says: “The difference between physical reality & man’s mental one
is that
the
first was here when you arrived and will be here after you depart
(which
is more than we can say for you and your world of thoughts)."
One
man says that there are some basic do’s
& don’ts that
everyone
is supposed to live by, except no one person knows what they are.
(He later revised
this slightly to say that the whole thing’s a load of crap.)
One
man says: “If you keep asking other people The
Question
you’ll
keep getting answers -- but never The
Answer!”
Ordinary
men easily receive as much pleasure in relieving themselves of an opinion
as
they do in a bowel movement.
On
all important flights one man’s mind was his only carry on luggage.
One
man’s challenge is: “If you don’t feel at least slightly
pissed --
what’s
the sense in even getting out of bed in the morning!”
One
man says:
“How
smart would any of us feel if other people weren’t so stupid!”
One
man says: “When I look out expansively at life -- then
deeply in at myself,
and
a comparison between the two forces itself into my thoughts, I say to myself:
‘What the fuck!’
and let it go at that,
and
while this might sound crass and meaningless to others,
it
is metaphysically apt to me in a manner they can never grasp.”
One
mans says: “Life can never be exactly like we want it to be, but so what!
-- neither can we!”
One
man says: “What’s the sense in eating if you don’t over do it! --
same thing with thinking!”
For
physical exercise, every morning one man would walk around in circles in
his room (same as he did the rest of the day in his mind).
One
man starts each day with Bach, Mozart
and
Beethoven
only
to end up listening to cheesy music, “Not unlike” notes he,
“the
daily down grade of my own thinking.”
One
man recommends what he practices: “Mental vegetarianism:
never
consuming any idea with fat.”
One
man kept an eye on his mind for as long as he could stand it,
which
went in the beginning from a second to gradually longer periods --
then
eventually back to a second or so.
One
man says: “When it comes to verbally,
knowing-what-to-do --
every
friggin’ body knows --
so
how come none of the knowers do it?! --
am
I the only one missing something here?!”
One
man enjoys saying to himself: “Just think of all I’ve done for you!" --
and
enjoys even more the fact that he doesn’t seem to appreciate it!
One
man had a dog,
and
when he would watch him, the dog gave him great pleasure,
and
seemed more human than beast,
and
when he paid no specific attention to the dog,
he
reverted to just doggin’.
When
the man first realized this, for the briefest moment,
he
felt there was an important lesson in it regarding himself --
then
suddenly sensed a threatening implication therein --
then
looked away and never thought about it again.
(Well, he tried not to.)
In
the local affairs of the mind:
not
understanding what is going on will not keep it from going on.
