AT CITY STATION:
NO ONE IS EVER ENTIRELY CERTAIN
IF THE TRAIN HAS ARRIVED OR NOT

The Cryptic Time Table For The Enigmatically Able
 December 11, 2003                                                                 © 2003: JAN COX

One man eventually provided after market egress for his mind,
not unlike emergency buttons & escape hatches on prone-to-fall elevators.
In an unprecedented legal maneuver in one city,
a property owner suddenly foreclosed on himself and all his mortgagees.
Stripping oneself of urban possessions can only be done by oneself.

Recent press release touts this title:
“Memorable Quotes You’ll Never Hear From People You’ve Never Heard OF
(With A Comprehensive Index Of Topics Totally Unrelated To
Anything Contained Herein)”
which clearly could apply to more things than just that book, huh?!

One chap says that coming in at the conclusion of someone’s comments
is like having dessert without having to plough through the veggies.
“Here here!  --  what would your mother say!”
“Nothing  --  she lived on fresh air, same as my old man.”

A man out-of-the-daze is like someone with no one any longer
looking over his shoulder.
    “That’s unnatural!”
And your point is?......

For the few, un substantive ideas are not so much wrong as they are distracting.
There is nothing incorrect in praying to the wind, or leaving gifts to crop gods,
it’s what your brain wants to say  about such acts if asked,
that is the hippo in the fruit salad for some.

Dialogue.
“Conversing seriously with idiots causes idiocy in you.”
“Does that include conversations with yourself?”
“Well finally, a decent conversational companion.”

Discussed at the last Secretly Sagacious People’s convention:
“Being alive is not what bothers people --  it’s the knowing that they are.”

“Pa pa: what’s another of the more delirious things you’ve heard people talk about?”
“The distinctions they make between what they deem to be natural and unnatural.”
(The family dog damn nears bursts a gut chuckling every time he thinks about this.)
Question: How come you don’t more often: nearly-burst-a-gut? --
there’s certainly sufficient cause to do so, all around you, all the time.
“I’m sorry, but I am an intelligent man: I only have time for serious matters.”
(That’s all those fuckers’ excuse.)

Everything unknown is fascinating  --   until you know it.
“Say man!  --  what’s your excuse!”
“The Fascination Fairy dropped the ball in my case.”

Job News.
All recognized, established ideas are already retired  --  no longer working.
Man’s cultural reality consists only of entities incapable of functioning  --
that is unwittingly what makes them so entertaining to routine minds.

From our department of: Words Will Survive No Matter What YOU Say!
Anyone who picks up the nickname: Flatumus Maximus
should cut down on the flatumus.
And someone emails: “I don’t find it at all amusing the way you often
make fun of words; oh, you try to hide what you’re doing, but I see it well enough.
A properly civilized man would be ashamed to engage in such a thing.
(And I’m not saying this because of some debt I owe words......okay,
that’s not entirely true, but the obligation is not sufficient to influence my judgment
I assure you).”
This surely proves the proverb: Flatumus is as flatumus is denied.
You cannot divorce the Tar Baby by going to vocal court.
“What a truly invigorating voyage!” mused the solitary naked sailor,
bobbing in the water, after jettisoning from with under himself, all visible conveyance.
“I run this course alone  --  or not at all,” adds he.  (As if he has a choice.)
Even, no --  especially in the city is it helpful to your image when caught in a downpour to proclaim: “I wanted to be wet.”
“Okay  --  I can see that,
but why would a more conscious man deal in such a practice?!”
Those who have not died a hero’s death will never understand why Odin
seems satisfied with a solitary and unheated life.
Those who say: Que Sera,Sera  --  don’t mean it.
    “How can you know that?”
By their bothering to say it.
(One man privately believes that if the wind ever apologizes to scattered leaves  --
the time will have arrived of his enlightenment.)

Our Perspirational Thought For The Day.
If you smile just before you die, one of two things will occur:
either you won’t die,
or else death’ll wipe the smile right off your face.

The normal treatment for mental boredom is the partaking of other men’s boredom presented as entertainment.

One father’s advice to a son:
“A secured family tool worthy of recall is this:
If there is something you don’t want to think about  --  don’t think about it.”
(Some secrets are so safe that they don’t even have to be hidden from ordinary folks.)

More Employment Related News.
Although the pay for being a smart aleck is relatively low,
at least the hours are irritating.
Fact: Everyone knows what they’re up to (Double Fact): But no one’s aware they do.
Everyone mills about in the lobby,
not realizing they have been conscripted into the army of the barrymores.
The city thespian’s creed: “I pretend  --  therefore I survive.”
    “Is there no other way?”
What do you think?

A man asked Dr. Exacto: “Why does one thing always lead to another?”

                                                                  “That reminds me,” he replied.
