As they strolled down a dirt road, a father said to a son:
“If you were on a trans oceanic flight with your son and suddenly had knowledge
that there was not enough fuel to complete the trip and the plane was going down
and all would be killed  --   would you tell your son?
If yes, next question: for what purpose?

All knowledge of danger that hormones have automatically gets sent to neurons;
the two have no secrets from one another when the information flow has its origin
in the former, but neurons can learn things which they must speak aloud in the brain
to make hormones aware thereof;
in ordinary men this transmission also takes place mechanically.
Regarding the first query I posed concerning the scene I painted
with the doomed plane: if an everyday man knew they were going to crash and die, there is no doubt as to whether he would tell others  --
constructively, an ordinary man would have no choice;
his nervous system wiring and programming would force him to,
and yet my second question remains valid: To what end would he do so?
What purpose would it serve?

Only those of our uncommon blood line ever come to realize that a certain
controllable act must occur in our brain for neural-only, threatening information
to be transmitted to hormones,
the place from which an appropriate response must be directed,
and if none be possible, the site then of lingering fear and agitation.
If, via your own neurons, you learned that the plane you and your son were on
was going to crash and you both die,
would you convey this to his neurons so they could relay the knowledge to his hormones with one of the two possible results just noted  --  (now the big one):
would you engage in that act necessary in your own brain to transfer this fatal-laden info to your own hormones
(the non-verbal, survival-essential end of your nervous system, so to speak).

The act to which I refer that is required for such a transfer to take place is that
the brain must both speak the words needed to convey the information  --
and must also listen to itself say them,
and the certain man knows that he has the ability (perhaps after half a lifetime of working on such matters)  to not actually say  the pertinent words in his brain --
which in essence keeps his hormones --
which are the core operating machinery of his life (not his neurons)  --
from being dragged into a situation about which they can do nothing.

Why would a father torture a son?  --   cause him to suffer when it is not necessary? --  and why, my boy  --  why would a man do it to himself?”

They stopped at a stream and sat down on the bank for a while in silence;
the elder ultimately picked up the thread again:
“Those who say that life has been unfair, and they did not deserve
what has happened to them,
do (same as everyone) get what is deserved (as they call it).
What is coming to you is what is coming to you --
ordinary men by their nature, take it personally --  and are supposed to;
what is coming to everyone is what is coming to everyone  --
only those of the herd (as they should) are upset by it (at least enough to mention it).

A young man has young man dreams;
an old man  --  old man ones;
a healthy man  --  healthy man ones;
a sick man  --  sick man ones;
a rich man  --  rich man ones;
a poor man  --  poor man dreams, and like that
(except ordinary men do not like that).
They are programmed to decry the situation as unnatural (for them personally);
they say that certain events in their life have warped the part of their brain
wherein dreams are produced, and that it’s not fair:
they did not deserve to be treated as they have been in life;
they did not deserve the illnesses and bad strokes of luck they’ve suffered,
and the ninety nine, point nine, nine, nine, nine, nine per cent of humanity
who say they feel this way  --   do feel this way,
and as far as their mental concept of things intangible being ‘true’ or not:
their statement that they did not deserve certain things they have experienced in life  --  is true.
When a man’s nervous system says a green polar bear is at the door  --  it’s there  --  leastwise for the moment in his nervous system, and no amount of so called, reason, or confuting facts will change it.

Collective man is wired to say that he feels  --  and believes certain things
which have no observable, or measurable reality;
the herd does not run on feed alone;
there is fuel essential for man as we now know him that is intangible,
and one facet of it shows in men’s insistence that some of what happens to them in life  --  they did not deserve.”

They got up, and meandered around in the woods for a time without talking,
eventually coming out back at the dirt road,
which they began walking again.
“My son: did not the thought producing area of our brain (and thus our mind)
operate in a two stage process: (the mouth of consciousness says something,
and the ears of consciousness listens to what is said)
our obscure family line would not exist (or if it did, it would do so futilely);
it is only thanks to this arrangement in our brain that we are able (as it were)
to throw our self between its mouth and its ears,
and stop this automatic communication from occurring.
Every still-pursued method men have concocted to change their
state of consciousness (to Awaken-from-the-dream, to achieve Enlightenment,
or The Great Liberation)
such as: trying to remember their self; to be eternally mindful:
to continually chant a certain mantra; to count every breath;
to forever picture in your mind a specific symbol  --
they are all for the same (not normally understood by their practitioners) purpose:
to pry the mind’s listening to itself away from its talking.

Separating the two  --  putting some unnatural space between
them is what has always driven the few like us, my boy,
and seeing it directly for what it is without the useless notions that it is something mystical or super natural puts you on a whole different path (and to say the least) makes the journey much more probable.”

A cool wind picked up as they continued to stroll.
