Setting The Line For The Bet-It-Allers Since Ten To One

Financial News.
When the potential investors learned that the central canon of the proposed new religion was: “ Beer, Babes & Boogie Music” their interest instantly waned.
(People in the city are not complete idiots:
even things which they don’t understand how work,
they still comprehend what will keep them from working.
That’s the beauty of ordinary thinking: you can drink from a fountain
even though you don’t grasp how an imaginary one can put out nourishment.)

Glancing at his ordinary mind, a guy thought: “What a dunce!
Even if it did ever catch on to what I’m talking about  --
I’d just abandon it and move on to something else.           (What a clod.)"

When you’re dumb (sorry) when you’re of the level of man’s collective intelligence,
it is extremely difficult not to be serious.
Historical Footcast. One reason men have so consistently favored the notion
of there being a god is that it can make their seriousness a bit more tolerable,
in that they can blame their condition on him (after all: you don’t kid around with god, and he probably doesn't want youkiddin’ around about life.)
The uncivilized and under-conscioused are never serious enough,
while those striving for position in the city continually try to out serious one another;
the rebel out on the open plains of the brain has a perspective of the demands
being made on man’s collective thinking that reveals seriousness to be
filling a function completely unimagined by routine minds.

A Monograph Regarding The Nature Of Reality,
And Human Attempts Thereof To Portray.

                     The certain man privately says:
“Never mind the models  --  I want to see the things themselves.”
(Not at all the voice of civilized, cultured man.)
                     And someone asks:
“Does what he said include his own special activity?”
Indeed: it was to that that he specifically referred.

Through all the physical upheavals, mental vicissitudes and philosophical uncertainties that beset all men’s lives, one man held firm a certain approach:
he would simply bring up the reminder: “I am as armed and dangerous as life,
and even if it kills me, it will be taking out a part of itself.”
There are some things that some men can say to themselves that can have an effect not realized if other men say them.
“Does that mean there really is: magic-in-words?”
Hardly  --  magic in grasping the nature of words.
Words are the same thing as ideas, and without understanding the use of ideas
there is no magic to human life  --  for we damn well can’t learn to fly like eagles,
and swim like seals, but some men can discover how to turn the routine running
of their thoughts into something that is for them --  truly extraordinary.

The Importance Of Momentum In Mundane Mental Life.
The dumb seldom slow down  --  least they have time to realize how dumb they are.
Egyptology Re-Gypped, Or: How The Lower Nile Feeds The Upper.
“Papa Pharaoh: when cats die, do they come back as birds?”
     “Cats don’t die.”
Neurons come and go, but hormones flood the delta forever.
And one man pondered: “What would happen if when you die you could take your nervous system in tact with you, and not just its dispersed atoms?”
He “hmmed” on this for a few moments, then suddenly exclaimed: “Screw that!  --  what would happen if I did it NOW!?”

Definition.
Opinions: Day old bread.
Miscellaneous.
A quite efficient way to determine definitively is to just ask a man outright:
“Do you know what you’re talking about?”
(“Is that supposed to be funny?!”)
More History.
Ancient people wrote stuff in unknown languages and built weird structures
just so later people would say: “What the hell is this?”
(Apparently life permits the city to have its own bit of fun.)
Post Script. While this most likely would be taken as archeological history,
it can also be seen as man’s intellectual one as well.
Addendum.
The longest living man who ever lived still didn’t live long enough.
(See, for those with that special interest: dying’s the trick  --  not living.
Oh yeah, one more thing: If you’re not laughing at history  --  history’s laughing at you.)

Men with nothing to tell, tell about themselves  --  which does serve a purpose   --  since others with nothing to tell need something to entertain them.

As a guy who was dying said as he swatted a fly on his foot with a hammer: “Sorry.”
"Would It be out of line for me to ask which of the two he said it to?"

When he read that a certain billion dollar retail company made all of their profit
not from the sale of merchandise, but on their customer financing, one man said:
“Hey --  they stole that idea from the way my mind handles thoughts.”

A son asked a father:
“Is there something a person can say that is a sure sign they understand nothing?”
“Several: one is if they say anything negative about another person.”

When he saw a movie with the title: "Beastmaster” one man at first thought
someone had done a film about him and his struggle with his nervous system.
“That would make it a science fiction flick: a man’s struggle with his own nervous system!  Ha! ‘Space station stages surprise attack on itself!’   Don’t make me laugh!  (unless you intended to).”

Justice Speaks In The City.
The panel of inquiry has come to the conclusion that

the official’s incompetence was not “willful.”
(“I’ve noticed that much which occurs in politics
can also be applied to activity in my own mind.”)
