THE RESTRAINTS OF THE CITY
ARE TO BENEFIT THE HERD

How Mind Works.
Although everyone is fully aware of their total lack of interest in what other people have to say about their life if they are asked thereabout,
everyone still manages to believe that others are interested in
what they have to say about theirs when it comes their turn.
“All grunting,” grouses a hog, “is boring  --  except mine!”

WHAT A COINCIDENCE!
It is more than an egocentric, psychological flaw:
acting as above noted is one of the brain’s devices for protecting the mind.
(“Make that: the normal mind,” added the pig.)

Though he might own an umbrella and a .357:
a rebel has no need for defense of his thoughts:
another distinction between being merely sophisticated,
and understanding what’s going on.
Education can help you on a test, but not in the deep end of the neural pool.
Being civilized is in changing the ratio of neurons to hormones
which you found in your pool as it came from the factory;
being awake is being able to see why everyone is scrambling to do so,
(and spotting life over behind the cabana apparently taking notes and sketching plans).

Enlightenment comes from the flashlight remembering that it’s on.
You can never see what is really going on if you accept that
what you and everyone else normally sees as going-on is what is actually going on.
Men are supposed to say amongst themselves that the bus they ride every day
is a plane (which clearly life intends that someday it be)  --
but the certain man’s transportation needs can only be satisfied by his
own recognition of the distinction betwixt plans and execution (dreams and reality).
Since they are central to man’s unique nature and abilities,
there can be nothing wrong per se with dreams,
it’s just that a few people are born with needs that riding wishes won't meet.

It only counts individually to become intelligent when you are young,
since the collective all believe that they become so with age,
therefore you must somehow: mature-in-reverse,
                                                      grow-up-backwards, or perhaps  --
                                                      just abandon calendars altogether.

One way to spot collective thought is that it is continually caught up in trying to either tangle or un tangle hormones & neurons
(which is kind of interesting  --  in the same way 'twould be
a tornado giving housekeeping tips to subdivisions over which it is passing.)
Nota Bene: Thoughts that can think about thinking are not standard issue on this planet.

The Aggrieved Man’s Journey (A Poem).
Two roads diverged in a wood,

                                                  and I  --
I took the one that splashed mud on my pants.

Legalistic News.
In one kingdom, as per new law: PSC-479:
it is now permissible to quote, or refer to the works of others only for the purpose of sticking your finger in the eye of the past.

Eroticism & The City.
As long as you are seriously civilized, educated and sophisticated
you will sleep with the unsightly  --  and love every minute of it.
“Pa pa: don't such terms as: ‘Men love this or that thing’ actually reflect
merely an acceptance thereof, based on them having nothing to which to compare it?!”

Dippy’s Believe It Or Sit Down And Shut Up.
There are those who have absolutely no idea where things are going
whose strongest urge in life is to cry out: “Hey everybody!  --  follow me!”

The coat of arms of one knightly family bears the inscription:
“I resist not what I am  --  so as to more fully live.”
Histerical Feetnote: Certain cretin clans have adopted this motto
as justification for their own un heroic lives of self indulgence.
(The striking thing about the stupid is that they can make anything work.)
Real Warrior’s Addendum: “self indulgence” here refers not to a man’s submission to instinctive hungers, but the mind to its concept OF  self.)

A son asked a father:
“If writing is but the comparing of one word to another,
and thinking, the connecting of one idea to another,
then is not civilization the attempt by ordinary men to compare everything
perceivable to them and decide whether or not they should BE connected?!”
(An email just arrived from a man who says he believes he has begun to hear life frequently telling him to: “Shut up!”
and wants to know if reading these daily writings has anything to do with it.)

Fairy Tale.
A cow who realized what is really going on with the herd
could just ruin it for everybody else.
(“Excusez moi: but in what way is that a fairy tale?”)

Fact.
A more conscious mind can swallow anything  --  and note:
this refers not to gullibility.

Epicurean Update.
Metaphors and allegories are the menu  --  the MENU!

(“Two courses diverged in a meal,

                                                  and I  --
                                                  I chose the fatty one.”)

Educational News.
(Even though they lack commercial value): one man got a degree in Philosophy
just so people would call him Doctor instead of cow.

And finally, another episode of: I Guess That Takes Care of THAT!

If ordinary thinking could ever grasp and explain the nature of the mind
then all of man’s conspiratorial theories wouldn’t simply be just another conspiracy.
(And one man seemed to have momentarily hurt something above his adam’s apple when he quickly turned and thought: “I almost had it.”)
