A
father gave a son this, his best medical advice:
“Don’t
ever start getting sick in the first place,” and the boy replied:
“So where were you with this counsel right when I was born,
and could have made use of it?”
“Same
place you were: already hung up on the hook of genetics.”
While
a side of beef is a side of beef is a side of beef --
sides
of beef can’t complain about it.
On
one planet the primary medical treatment is
complaining;
their
neighbors look at this in amazement --
not
being able to comprehend how it can work -- fact is: it does
not
work --
not
in the sense the outsiders define: work.

Curio Always Overlooked-O.
What

is true on Mars,
while
what seems so in Valhalla
is limited thereto;

“What
an idea!” mused a man who’d been listening:
“’Never
start getting sick to begin with’ -- just think:
if
I had never let my mind start being distracted by all the normal folderol
that
everyone else talks about and says is important,
I
wouldn’t be in the disoriented mess I am today,”
and
his partner entered the soliloquy: “Sounds good, but had not such occurred,
you
could not be standing here now capable of such a wholly unholy perception.”
“What
a totally ripped thing is man’s life,” mused another chap:
“He
is given the ability (somewhere along the way) to note the possibility
that
the
life he seems to be living could be occurring in a dream he is having,
but
even if it were true, this astounding realization
(which
would radically change every conception he has of life)
could
never happen had he not originally fallen into
the dream.”
The
commentator stopped -- appeared to reexamine what he had just
said,
then
added: “No, this is much more than merely ripped:
this
is like a balloon being blown up inside your head, then the air let out
--
it
turned inside out, so that now no one can tell it was once there in one
form,
and
is now there in another.”
He
then placed his fingers gingerly on his temples and slowly walked away.

One
people say that after they had a certain “disagreeable run in with god,”
he
punished them by driving them from the original Garden Of Silent Pleasures,
and
that once outside they had the additional problem of being faced with
two
unknown roads, one apparently proper and the other not,
from
which they had to choose their one life long path.
(A
group within this group says that there appearing to be
two roads is the
actual
punishment.)
Mental
Health As Banking.
The

Fact:
Things cannot be too
straightforward when you live in a crooked world,
(two
wrongs may not make a wright, but two eyes insure blurry sight).
When
they first hear of it as a metaphysical extravaganza,
some
quite ordinary people want to achieve Enlightenment
--
until
someone tells them that all it does is allow you to see everyday life clearly.
(Let
all the city folk sing: “Oh it takes a weighted mind
to see a weighted world.”)
What people in the city refer to as mental health is not about the mind,
On
a certain world, the prevailing wisdom says that enthusiasm for mental
certainty is noticeably subsiding, while on its sister planet they claim
just the opposite.
