How
The Ordinary Perceive Progress As Reflected In Fashion,
And
The Few In Something Else.
The
Chic Interplay Between Body & Mind: Hormones & Neurons
As
Exemplified Through Sales Tactics Of Farm Properties.
________
Auditory
News.
In
a conversation, as soon as someone says: “Well, what disturbs me is…”
you
may safely turn off your hearing aid.
Metaphysical
News.
Secret
knowledge retains its potency only so long as you don’t talk about it.
One
king, when speaking of himself, would some times use the singular, “I”
and
at others, the royal “we” -- making it possible (he explains)
for
him to take the credit for successes
while
laying the failures on the people around him.
(And
one of his ministers notes that to be close to power requires that you
put
up with shit like this [“A small price,” he adds,
“For
what ultimately proves to be a pretty small experience.”])
Moral:
Get too near even a fire that is not your own,
and
learn how indifferent fire is to whom it burns.
Weak
men seek to be around the strong -- only to still be crushed
by them,
and
unaware men seek to be with the awakened -- no they don’t.
He found an iron;
he took it home;
he plugged it in;
it didn’t heat;
he didn’t care;
all his habits are permanent press anyway.
Stretchy
Corollary: The antipathy philistinian
bovinians feel for the creative
is
due to them seeming to not
be under the domination of a sense-of-time,
and
thus of deterioration.
A
herd can not hold together unless it collectively feels that things are
coming apart.
________
“Kids
are supposed
to be dumb,” someone told a kid;
“I
know,” replied the kid, “If we weren’t -- you’d have no one
to say that to” --
which
didn’t please the speaker at all!
--
but
that’s okay --
this
never happened anyway --
such
a thing couldn’t (not at least, anywhere that someone might hear
it).
Moral:
The worthwhile things only go on in total privacy.
“So
how’s anyone to ever know about them!”
(Would
anyone [in complete privacy of course]
care
to guesstimate the worthwhileness of one who would ask such a question?)
________
One
man says that years ago, for a considerable period of time,
he
was his best friend -- until --
he
finally realized just what kind of person he actually was.
“Better
late than never,” he added (and his partner injected:
“That’s what only those who are late profess.”)
Moral:
Everyone deserves their own personal profession --
the
world’s big enough -- there’s enough room.
________
After
one of his ponderous personal anecdotes,
one
man would always grasp his listener’s elbow and bellow:
“You
had to be there -- you had to be there” -- which
was easy for him to say,
since
he didn’t have to -- he proved that when the event related
occurred.
The
Heretofore, Unsaid, Unconfronted, Unrecorded Actual Basis Of
All
Religion On One Planet.
A
weak man is a happy man -- if he admits
he is weak.
The
Previously Unnoticed Situation Whereby
Creatures
Of Routine Consciousness Retain Their Status.
Addendum:
Only
a man who don’t know-any-better, wallows in himself.
(The
“wallowing-in-yourself” is not really the problem –
it’s
the mistaken identity men have of their self. Yuk!
--
who
wants to wear someone else’s underwear! -- especially the neural
kind.)
________
Men
have two legs so they can rock from one to the other,
giving,
from a certain angle, a rough illusion of forward motion.
(“If
I could argue as persuasively with myself as I can others --
I’d
be enlightened by now [or at least a genius]).”
________
Corollary
To An Earlier Item Regarding Hormones & Supernatural Folderol.
A weak wolf is a happy wolf,
if a member of a pack;
while alpha males, in their head,
have no religious dreams.
The
inner loner, who may ultimately locate himself,
is
impressed neither with outer aggression, nor inner reticence;
when
you walk on your own feet -- both are without meaning to you.
________
Definition
From The Cortical Cutting Edge ("Watch your fingers, Jim Bob.”)
Life:
The loose ends to dying.
And
one man says that he has had: “All he can take!” (Get it? --
it’s a joke. Ha ha.
The
dumb and the weak have a completely different sense of humor from
a
man-who-knows).
________
Being
excited in a certain way is what people really mean when they say that
what
they want most in life is to: “be happy.”
City
morality is one element in the chemical formula of man’s growth hormone.
On
one planet, they yearly celebrate an international Dumb
Day,
but
those qualified to participate therein are (as you can well imagine
from
your vantage point on this world) too dumb to realize it.
Advanced
Punch Line:
But
those qualified to participate therein are too ashamed
to do so.
(And
by the way: don’t you feel more comfortable with the:
“ashamed
to do so” version than the: “too dumb to” one.)
In
some
places,
in
certain
cases,
pseudo
excitement
costs
more
than
the real
thing
--
which
is
only
a
problem
for those satisfied
with city life
--
for
the would-be
realized
man:
a
certain
self-generated excitement
remains
the neat trick
to
everything.
And
anytime
he’d
happen to
see himself, one
man would say:
“Well
-- as long
as we’re
both already here...”
