The Astounding Experience sought by the few, and dreamed of by the many,
is closer to home than any of them imagine;
it in fact is closer than your own neighborhood and house –
it is as near as your own nervous system.
The Dance Of Hormones & Neurons In The City
(Not Always Doing Steps Men Recognize) Scanned As A Query.
Question: Are the more civilized those who purposefully refrain from
calling fucking, “fucking”  --  or those who can not do otherwise.
When one fellow came across a line that read:
“None are so blind as those who will not see,” he mused: “Sure there are:
those who present such ideas as though there could be an alternative.”
A king cried out: “Why must we have two opposing political parties?!” --
and the people replied: “For the same reason we must bear an anti-king.”
Though not written, there are: Rules Of Life --  in fact, two sets:
one for ordinary men, and one for the nervous system rebel.
Herd Life In The City.
All cows want to be famous  --  but few know how to produce blue milk.
Corollary: Men are dumb enough to believe things collectively
that they wouldn’t individually.
Corollary Expositioned: This was one of them.
Admiration is one city gift of which no recipient will ever be heard to say:
“Ah! --  too bad  --  I already have one.”
Contraire to proverbial city wisdom:
Promises are not made to be broken  --  but promises are made to be promises -- and not performances.
To commemorate his son’s: over-the-edge birthday,
a father had a piece of their lawn statuary tattooed with the words:
“When it comes to dealing-with-yourself: he who has any mercy  --  has problems.”
Though no king will admit it,
and no war college teaches it,
the absolute, all time, and everywhere best military strategy is:
Never have anything to lose.
One guy would constantly say:
“Don’t look at me like that  --  I know what you’re thinking”  --  but he lied,
and in an unexpected place, one man found a book titled:
“Facts That Will Change Everything You Know”  -  which he was afraid to look in.
Words To The Wise, Dumb, And Those In Between.
Never tell a child anything you don’t want him to know
(you know: just-in-case!)
There is an extremely significant Commission in the city that tries to, look-after-everything there  --  and notice: you’ve never heard of it,
and some culinary advice that could possibly be useful somewhere:
If you want to be sure the recipe is done just right  –  let someone else cook it.
(The key word would seem to be: “somewhere.”)
In his persistent attempt to eliminate, or at least, stabilize the many uncertainties
in his life, one man went ahead and took the ultimate step of dying.
(He was in a way --  right of course, since nothing is done with unless it is
totally done with [which is another reason for the rebel’s eschewing of modifiers]).
In the city, even if every day was Sunday, there would still be lines of people
in front of government offices asking what time they open.
Those with the taste  --   can’t get enough of a certain-stuff.
(“Like Cinderella’s hoarding of that hair rinse she likes?!”)
And someone offers this definition:
“Being, civilized is never having to say you’re satisfied.”
Hang around the city long enough and you will eventually hear everything said
that can possibly be said.
From one perspective: the power of thought is that it has no limits,
and its drawback, that it is too dumb to realize the ramifications.
On one world: the victor of the battle is the side still talking.
(And one guy, instead of singing: “God Save The Queen,” warbles:
“God Save Me FROM Such A Place.”)
And a son asked a father:
“Have our betters already gone before us --  or: are they yet to come?”
and his pater repaterplied: “In our family line: both  --   how can it not be both:
the man awake to what is going on is at once: post-garden Adam  -- but:
with the remembrance of his pre verbal days."
Outside usual urban areas:
a man with no apparent purpose may be the one most focused.
One man says: “The worst thing ‘bout a routine mind,
is how it makes you wanna whine.”
There is a difference between trying to keep a secret --  and being a secret.
A large man in city park said:
“A tiny person is like a tiny poem: they go on and on forever!”
and his wife nodded and added: “It’s true  --  until you go ahead and sit on them.”
There is a difference never grasped in the city between thinking, with all your might,
that there is something special about you, and actually being somebody.
(As one rebel mind put it, as it boosted itself up:
“Standing on the shoulders of the only giants there are: [to wit]: ourselves.”)
Everybody in the city plays tag-along:
the young, the grown, the simple, the cosmopolitan;
no one has the heart or G.I. tract to call it that  --  but that’s what it is:
endless verbal, wrap-around-whip  is the sport that seams together urban existence.
Thus, in some unknown locales is the man-who-knows also known as: he-apart-at-the-seams (the key being: the appropriate seams).
“Well tell us: in precisely what circumstances is appropriateness NOT the clavis!”  (Ooo!  Mr. Keen-eye.)
One city gamester (with some sort of digital rash) said to his waitress:
“No man cheats but what conditions didn’t mark the cards.”
“I’m sorry, but I must break in again, for this is another one of those things
that sounds profound at first  --  but then if you start to think about it....”   Well!  --  there’s your problem right there!
Not knowing the purpose-of-life won’t keep you from holding a job therein.
(It is equanimity such as this that has kept the Life Corporation free of unions.
[“Boy! --  now there’s a laugh: the idea of men standing up to life!”   --    Yeah,
but you unwittingly mean: the idea that there is any distance between men and life.])
(File under something):
Surprising revelations regarding reality are only surprising if you are Rip van Rippled.
Everyone has the same middle name  --  and, no! --  you can’t be told what it is,
(now get outta here.)
Epithet (obviously for some other time zone):
"Those who don't understand much  --  don't understand a HEAP of much."
The drama coach told the class;

“You will always seem more sincere and the scene will go over better if,
just before the punch line to your soliloquy  --  you pause,”
and a janitor in the hallway mused: “Same as my uncle used to do with his thinking.”
(And one of one guy’s more useful tactics in the theatre of his mind
is to periodically yell out :“Hey you bums! --  get off the stage!”)
And while humans take credit for the line: “We stand on the shoulders of giants,”
the seminal version came from genes who declared:
“We stand on shoulders (among other parts.)”
