Men
live in twin worlds: of action and of information;
the
world of action is man’s first reality (the physical one),
and
the world of information is his second, intangible reality,
and
realizing for yourself the validity of this working model --
grasping
how the latter supports the former in vital interests,
but
can also whirl away -- virtually disconnected therefrom,
is
of inestimable wealth to a man driven to get a personal and totally unplanned
handle
on what is going on with life and being a human with thoughts.
The
first reality is of action only and requires no input of information to
do its work;
the
hungers experienced therein (for food, sleep and sex) automatically lead
a man
to
the action which will satisfy the hunger without the need for any information
--
no
man must be told how to eat, sleep or screw:
it
all occurs via fully programmed instinct,
but
the hungers men feel in their second reality of information only,
are
never satisfied.
In
the first reality: the hunger itself spurs men to take the action that
will fulfill it,
while
a hunger in the second reality never leads men to anything that will content
it.
Action
is all there is to man’s first reality,
thus
action (eating when hungry) is the answer to all problems in that world;
information
is all there is to man’s second reality, and by extended logic
you
would expect perforce, that information would be the answer to all problems
in
that realm -- but: no question that exists exclusively in the
information reality
has
an information solution,
and
neither will any action provide such answers (endless engagement in
Holy
Communion will never satisfy a supplicant’s hunger, “To
know God,”
nor
will the writing of any amount of metaphysical verse
ever
produce in a poet a conclusive comprehension of, “The
Truth,”
[which
is to say in both instances]: To
understand what is going on with life).
Just
as there is no information needed
in the world of action,
there
is no action possible
in the one of information (not useful action:
praying
and reading a book are not true actions,
but
meaningless collateral movements coincidental to the real aim:
the
desire for information).
Men
do not read books for the physical movement involved in the turning of
pages;
the
hunger is not for action but for information;
man’s
vague collective assumption that the physical rituals and activities that
may be coeval with his search for answers to spiritual, psychological and
cultural questions
are
in any way actually a vital part there of, collapses upon the slightest
investigation.
While
the totality of man’s first & essential, physical life is one of action,
the
entirety of his second, unique-to-him, intangible inner life is one of
information,
and
while hungers in the first world are always met (or else death occurs),
no
hungers in the second one are ever filled:
the
action of stomach muscles contracting from hunger
leads
to the satisfying action of eating: action
begets action:
action
begets satisfying
action,
but
the muscles of the mind constricting from its hunger to know a certain
thing, (camouflaged under a thousand different headings of things it says
it wants to know) never leads a man to any information that ever proves
satisfying:
he
is aware that (which is to say: he has the information that) he is hungry
to
know a certain thing, and this does cause him to look for it, yet in the
second reality, even though having information does breed the seeking of
additional information,
it
is not the same as in the first reality wherein: action begets action
--
action
there begets satisfying
action, while in man’s second reality,
no
information proves to be satisfying information.
Ordinary
thinking blames the quality of the information, saying that men have simply
not yet discovered the information that will
be conclusive and fulfilling,
but
a man with a keen eye/I can easily see this is not the linchpin in this
puzzle;
in
the five thousand years men have been recording this hunger to know some
difficult-to-precisely-identify thing (the nature of
God, The Truth, etc) there is not
the
slightest sign of any progress toward its fulfillment (since none is possible),
yet
life chooses to make collective man act blind to this clear and present
reality.
In
the first, physical reality of action, no hunger will lead a normal man
into actions detrimental to his survival (his stomach hunger will not direct
him to eat
a
poisonous plant), and while the literal opposite cannot be said about the
second,
hungers
natural to that domain do lead
men’s minds into consuming ideas which
have
no actual nourishment: ideas that are meaningless, vacuous,
totally
dependent on self reference for their survival;
going
around endlessly in a self fueling circle to nowhere,
(so:
you have really been expecting that pinpointing the exact location of
Santa
Claus’ abode is merely a matter of
time?!)
Information
about information stuff
-- regardless of how entertaining it may be --
is
information about nothing;
the
questions that reside there are as meaningless and unsubstantial as are
any
answers that may appear there.
There
are silent solutions to all first reality questions:
“What
should I do about this hunger in my stomach?” --
the
non thinking action of instinct will lead you physically to a place
where
you will find the answer to your problem (the appropriate food), while
in the second reality (one composed wholly of words and their associated
mental images) there are not only no answers to any questions --
the
questions themselves are not there,
(not
in the sense significant to a man struggling his way through the mental
haze),
so
-- based on the special needs of the certain man:
a
restatement of something supra: in the second reality of information,
(since
all information that men feel they already possess there, is unsatisfying):
all
information in
the world of information inside man’s mind
can
beget only unsatisfying information,
(you
may guess and speculate forever, but St.
Nick’s actual address
will
never be known to you,
[you
ride a chicken -- you always end up at the hen house]).
What
the certain man is after is information that is not native to
the
normal world of information;
the
hunger that drives the few (and in a much diluted and unrecognized form,
the
many, as in their spiritual, and philosophical pursuits) is for information
--
explanatory
information about the special reality of man that IS of information.
In
man’s physical reality of action: actions speak for themselves,
(no
one questions why men eat or sleep),
but
in his intangible reality of information: nothing speaks for itself –
a
man’s action of fending off a tiger, needs no explanation:
everyone
who sees the action occur, understands fully what happened,
but
what goes on in the information jungle is not understood by anyone
--
everything
there cries out for explanation -- and none exists,
(in
the land of illusory rodents: rats never rat on themselves).
If
you find you have that inherent, unconventional hunger
to
understand privately for yourself, what is going on with life,
looking
to the world composed of information, natural to your head,
will
-- guaranteed -- keep you from doing so.
The
certain man must look somewhere else -- and ultimate truth
be:
he
must just about discover where this place is entirely on his own.
J
On one planet,
some creatures confuse: discover
with: create.
