When
an ordinary mind (and its collective counterpart, civilization)
wants
to take a step forward,
if
it is momentarily resting on its left foot, it will shift its weight to
its right,
thus
is it valid to see man’s neural existence and cultural world always off
balance -- but in the state of its natural grace;
the
rebel’s advance however, comes by jumping --
both
feet always involved in his moving.
(You may as well
call hormones & neurons your right and left feet.)
There’s
this one man who will claim he believes quite outrageous things,
and
egg people on until someone will chastise him: “That’s no way to be,”
so
that he can say to himself: “It’s SOME way to be.”
Man
has a life of primary affairs, which are directed by his hormones;
he
also has a life of secondary affairs, which are under the auspices of his
neurons,
and
a man who can be offended by primary matters
has
a sure future in secondary ones --
why
he might even become the mayor of his local civilization.
Sometimes
while watching acts, one man would trip over his facts,
and
at other times his partner did the same, only in reverse.
Hormones
are to acts as neurons are to facts;
you
can either: look where you’re going -- or:
go
where you’re thinking -- and if the latter,
you’re
likely to trip over mere shadows on the sidewalk.
Living
in your head at the expense of your feet is an act -- but a
sorry one --
and
that’s a fact.
A sentiment popular in the city is:
When
he would look upon affairs in men’s mentally constructed, secondary reality,
one
man could see the foolishness of one’s claim of superiority over another:
the
reality of life is multifaceted -- neurons’ perceptions thereof
-- fungible.
One
man adopted as his personal motto: “Short
And Sweet,”
and
when he died, his son not only decided to take it as his own, but to revise
and improve it as well (which he did by changing it to say: “Short,”
[and his old
man chuckled in the grave]).
The
Soaps Slither On.....And On.....And On.....
If
you try to see that the drama of everyone’s
today
is
simply a continuation of yesterday’s episode,
the
commercials become less annoying.
Hormones
are like the essentials in life --
neurons,
what you do with your disposable income,
“What
I
do?! -- how about we bring the real culprit --
life into this discussion!”
-- There, there sir, calm down; the commercial break is almost over,
and
momentarily you’ll be able to slip back into the peaceful sludge.
If
you REALLY kept objective track of what happens to you --
and
then forgot about it --
you
would stop being bothered by what happens to you -- really.
When
they first heard the term: "Being true to yourself" --
neurons
nodded their solemn agreement while hormones exclaimed: "WHAT?!"
The
certain man is somehow as irresistibly drawn to the idea of awakening
as
he is hormonally to the sight and smell of a woman.
In
all animals: blood = energy; hormones = information,
but
only in man are there neurons to analyze the info,
and
only in the certain man, the unconventional wherewithal to analyze the
analyzer.
After
a particularly stimulating and satisfying thought,
one
man likes to light up a smoke and say to his mind: “Was it good for you?”
Hormones
& Neurons: The Nervous System & Thoughts: Ownership vs Renting.
Any
man with even a handful of heads-up
prefers the permanent to the ephemeral -- (how can you not?!
-- from this did humanity’s collective mind come up with the idea of man’s
existence being metaphysically eternal, in spite of his local somatic demise).
A
dedicated city dweller can prove anything under the sun
merely
from incidents in his own life.
A
large order of man’s confusion arises from not recognizing that hormones
are things, and neurons are an activity.
Even
though hormones be the hand stuck up the back of
neurons’
ventriloquist’s dummy, writing its every word,
(and
is an arrangement taken quite well by those in the city),
for
the rebel, too much talk by neurons interferes with the special relationship
he
needs with hormones.
The
feature of the nervous system capable of imaging a dam, of constructing
one,
then
of verbally christening it a: “dam,”
certainly benefits man’s food production,
but
for the few, this can dam up their needed neural flow;
without
all things be named -- no civilization;
with
all things being named -- the certain man must be super attentive
--
never
mistaking facts for acts.
(“I guess the only excusable example of this being when you’re asleep at
night and dreaming, huh?!”)
J
Pst!
-- non hostile laughter is the secret connection between hormones and neurons,
(and
of course, the proper relationship 'tween the two is the bedrock of seeing
what is really going on).
