Life
(in its form as man’s mental reality) is in a constant state of self-correction;
this
is something apart from any changes it may effect in him physically
--
it
is an on going activity in his cultural affairs which men normally perceive
as
conflict
and confusion, but which is life engaged in continual self-correction.
Giving
this activity a name -- and particularly this name (self-correction)
is
presumptuous (as is at heart, all naming) for no creature, a manifestation
of life
can
ever know life’s goals (if indeed it has any)
so
calling what it is doing, self-correction, without knowing life’s intentions,
is
not comprehensively valid -- but, it does accurately reflect
in words
what
it is clearly struggling to do at all times: maintain an ever shifting,
upright
balance sufficiently stable to stay viable in its present state,
(in
other words): in man’s cultural affairs (those with no material substance)
there
is never ending turmoil not experienced in any other area of his life;
it
is not periodic, not episodic, but never ending.
When
a man’s body becomes non fatally ill, it is temporary --
he
eventually rids himself of whatever it was and returns to his state of
usual health,
but
in the other large area of man’s life (his mentally based, incorporeal
affairs,
such
as: religion, politics, art, morality and justice)
his
collective cultural body stays in what seems to be a ceaseless state of
distemper;
no
sooner is one ostensible social-problem solved than another takes it place;
one
artistic/philosophical squabble is settled, and suddenly appears a new
one;
an
injustice is cured over-there -- a new one pops up over-here.
If
man’s body was subject to such an existence, everyone would be a physical
wreck (even our inanimate planet could not withstand such a relentless
condition),
but
his cultural body thrives on it
(though
ordinary minds see it as surviving in spite of it).
The
organs and systems of man’s body operate endlessly due to the endless
drive
to survive, but the organs and systems of man’s cultural body
have
no such essential need to drive them, and in a sense what they do is:
drive
the body by continually poking at one another -- pushing each other
off balance so that the whole structure must constantly struggle to stay
upright
by
rocking from side to side to counteract the endless internal turmoil,
all
of which produces an ambulatory momentum.
By
endless squabbling does a large part of man’s reality survive.
From
this perspective comes the description of life (via man’s consciousness)
being
engaged in never ending, self-correction;
in
the intangible world man perceives in his mind as a reality, everything
extant
therein
is continually in conflict with everything else of a similar design;
always
are two religious factions; two political philosophies;
two
schools of art, or two forms of social jurisprudence
in
a life-and-death verbal struggle;
one
day (one century), one faction wins; the next day, the other,
and
so on without ever occurring, a conclusive end to the matter,
(and
true throughout this non physical realm).
Once
seen aright, all features of human life whose existence depends on words
--
and
not actions,
exist
only by there being constant conflict regarding them,
(even
more precisely): they exist only AS conflict.
Everything
in the physical world of man’s body is settled:
lungs
breathe air; hearts pump blood; livers do clean up,
and
none involved contend the arrangement with the others;
the
working of this vivas machina
has been firmly fixed, and that is the end of it,
but
nothing in the non physical world of man’s cultural body is fixed and settled
-- everything is in constant flux and dispute;
life
has ordinary men’s minds professing belief that it can be otherwise and
indeed causes the illusion of them making meaningful efforts to accomplish
same --
but
it is a neural/verbal trompe l'oeil
(in this instance, of the eye spelled, “I”).
Like
a cat fascinated by the movements of a squirrel while ignoring the fixed
tree,
the
only thing that keeps man’s mind interested in the sundry intangible matters
his
mind has created and placed in its wholly invented other reality,
IS
their constant movement -- movement caused solely BY his interest
therein;
The
idea of The Holy Grail
would not have survived
without
a dispute having arisen regarding what it is,
and
Lancelot cannot be believed to have
existed unless there are those to deny it;
no
matter the patent fantasy of the story (such as the Hero’s
resurrection from death)
if
it has sufficient opposition which labels it fallacious (not correct)
it
can become a permanent part of man’s intangible, second reality,
staying
viable by way of the back and forth controversy it has produced, which
seems to make life try to settle same via an ongoing attempt at
self-correction,
putting
into ordinary men’s minds the sensation that all of the many
intangible
matters in dispute will one day be settled;
they
never have been -- they never will be (not in normally wired
minds) –
only
a man who catches
on to what is going
on ever sees this matter for what it is.
Ordinary
men are made to eternally wrangle over nothing --
over
things that simply do not exist -- except by-way-of, and IN
their wrangling.
A
man unnaturally awake to life would only fight over food --
nothing else --
not
even verbally, and especially not with himself.

“COMPLETE
assembly required.”
