Report
From The Great White Way Of Dreams And Other Team Sports.
When
the announcement-come apology was made that the star of the show
was
indisposed and that the lead role would be filled by a substitute actor,
and
a disgruntled murmur rolled through the audience, an usher mused:
“Let’s
see: it was back about ‘73 that I realized the real me was not going to
show up, and that my role was going to be permanently played by a substitute,”
then
surveying the unsettled crowd, further reflected: “Hell, everyone should
face it: the whole world’s a bunch of substitutes.”
A
father mentioned to a son: “(Putting my comments for a moment
in
a religious setting): the problem is not believing
in
god,
but
believing in a god that other
men created;
the
substitution of grape juice for wine can spell the nutritional doom of
a
would-be rebel;
only
what you understand from your own resources IS understood --
all
else that your mind seems
to know is but an understudy for the real star.”
While
doing sit ups at home, one man began hearing cracking sounds beneath him,
and
was annoyed at the thought of having to have his hardwood floor redone,
only
to discover that it was not the maple slats making the noise as he bent
his back.
Moral:
it is difficult to see something when you’re standing on it,
a
fact (by the way) lost at the greatest cost on those seeking to edify their
mind
WITH
their mind.
An
old dog can be freshly instructed -- but not
by
his fellow old dogs.
No Parisian can tell you the way out of Paris.
Another
Seemingly Insightful Proverb, Refurbished For The Special Use Of The Few.
In
the land of the blind, a one eyed man is not seen,
(don’t
know what could be more obvious than that!)
“But dear pa pa; the original version makes the one eyed man out to be
in a superior position -- not unrecognized!?”
“Si,
but this telling nudges the alert to consider the connection between
having
superior perception and not having others aware thereof.”
“Man! -- that could be a
tricky one!”
“Which
ones drool-producing aren’t!”
When
one man heard another accused of: going-through-a-phase,
he
spread in his head: “Everyone’s:
going-through-a-phase
-- eternally.
The
no-refunds distinction ‘tween man and all other creatures is that
they
cannot translate their moodiness into abstract expression.”
“What you’re saying is: animals can’t talk about their temperament.”
“We
should do a comedy act together.”
The
Thing About Laughter And Non Physical Illness.
It
may be possible to die
while laughing -- but nothing of a lesser nature.
Ordinary
men ask god for help in restoring their health;
the
certain man cuts out the imaginary middle man,
and
deals with the situation directly:
his
brain’s consciousness trying to get its non conscious operations to do-their-job.
One
man’s cortex said to his immune system: “We could be a comedy act,”
to
which it replied: “From my view: you already are,” which caused the cortex
to think: “I could say the same about you -- ‘cept you wouldn’t get
it,”
and
right there, dear theatre goers, in those four words, is all you need see
for the puzzling plot of man’s drama to become crystalline clear: "Cept-you-wouldn’t-get-it.’”
“That’s five words!”
See
-- you don’t get it.
For
his youngster’s sitting pleasure, a father reupholstered an ancient proverb:
“To
err is not human; to say that
humans err -- that
is what is distinctly human,”
and
through thus, the lad turned his desk chair into a lat machine.
In
the land of the normally blind, all progress not measurable in the material
world comes from self censure;
a
man can plan and construct a windmill while being filled with nothing but
positive
feelings concerning his efforts,
but
men cannot create their special intangible world of gods, fame, respect,
and
a self-image without the presence of self-condemnation:
progress
in the physical world is marked by man as things-getting-better,
and
similarly does he judge progress in the incorporeal realm as him
getting better;
a
hawk’s seeing can be improved? -- a robin’s singing? --
no,
but
neither can they alter their instinctive abilities;
none
but man has such a capacity,
and
none but he who has unnaturally developed his
knows
whether man’s capacity is real or illusory.
Even
if you can never leave Paris (yet are born with the irrepressible desire
to do so)
it
is good to know the truth (if you happen to be one of those mutants
with
a taste for such).
“But should you not also include a comment pertinent to the antipodal possibility?”
Point
taken: even if you can
get out of Paris --
it
is profitable to realize that men are born with the belief that they can,
irrespective
of the truth of the matter.
“That’s not exactly what I was expecting.”
“Such
is all effort to flee
the City Of Lights.”
Important
But Overlooked Fact Number Seven.
Ordinary
men never notice that all the instructions which your automatically appearing
thoughts try to contribute to your understanding are what was expected;
a
dead horse expects to be beaten -- which is why it does not
revive him;
what
the latent, fully-informed-man needs to know cannot be,
and
is not in any fashion whatever -- what
was expected;
indeed,
the data he requires is so unlike the customary
there
is no way to verbally describe it in words you would expect to hear --
which
are the only ones that make sense –
ergo
the sparkling situation surrounding the certain man wherein:
only
that which is expected -- makes sense -- and:
all
that is expected is useless to him -- and:
only
that which is expected -- makes sense --
and:
that
which makes sense only serves to further support the mental status quo.
“Okay
students: does everyone have it clearly in their minds
what,
‘change’
actually means?! --
along
with the understanding that a zebra cannot change its own clothes,
but
must have outside help -- not external physical
help,
but
self provided internal, intangible assistance and instruction.”
The
nascent take on life with which your nervous system was conceived,
and
which its thoughts now predictably reflect
must
be replaced with ideas from areas in your brain not normally called upon
to
provide such: it is: the ultimate, willful -- substitution--
whereby
the unknown understudy becomes the permanent star of the role;
a
mental awareness of life and self that was previously not known to even
exist ,
becomes
the sole one employed:
what
a joy.
