 A LOT FUNNIER THAN
THE REGULAR NEWS
(WELL, A LITTLE FUNNIER)

One father’s advice to a son:
“The best way to get along with people is to pretend  that you do.”
     “But what if they don’t want to go along?”
“Pretend you’re not aware of it.”
     “Wow! --  it’s bullet proof!”
“As is all pretense, my boy.”

(Later he further noted):
“The supreme power of pretending is that even if someone says
they are sure you are doing so, you can either pretend to adamantly deny it,
or admit it, and then pretend that you will never do it again.

When you frolic in Fool World --  everyone is subject to be fooled --
even the unwitting foolers.”
    “You’re talking about man’s inner-only reality, huh?!”

Some Stock Quotes.
Unusually pretentious cows will routinely repeat some fact that is
common knowledge to the herd, but with verbal inflections that, to their ears.
make their mundane comment sound like a just-thought-of,
pearl of deep personal insight.
“There it is again, my boy, and  you should never forget it:
in Fool World  --  even the pretenders fall for their own pretending.”

     “So, pa  --  is there no way out?”
“Pashaw!  --  there is always  -- ThatThingOurFamilyDoes.”
      “You mean when we remember to!”
“Speak for yourself.”
        “If better I could  --  I would be you.”
                                          The better that the rebel can always do,
                                          is the forming in him  --  of one from two.

Life in Fool World can be well defined as:
pretending that there is more to the things there than there is,
   “Could that not also be a description of culture?”
“Yes, but while culture unconsciously benefits the herd,
it does nothing for the unusual individual:
a particular, ‘Soo--ee!’ can offer adequate intangible nourishment
to a whole nation of swine,
yet offer not a calorie to an exceptionally hungry solo pig.

                                         Only a man himself can extract himself from Fool World.”

Ordinary men can explain everything about man;
a man a little awake realizes that he cannot explain the appearance in his head
of the thoughts he has;
a man a bit more awake  realizes that he cannot explain the existence of
the feelings he has,
and a man 99% of the way there realizes that he cannot explain anything --
(beyond that point a man may or may not ever mention again the matters of
awakening and explaining man.)

Another Unrecognized Law Of Physics:
those who most enjoy talking are those who understand the least.

Just as everyone knows that when a business says if you buy one of their products you will get another one “absolutely free” --  it is untrue,
so too should the would-be rebel understand the similar situation in his mind as one magically appearing thought automatically offers to lead you -- at no charge  --
to one of his apparently related friends.

If the herd believes it is free  --  the alert cow ignores it;
fodder commonly available to all is, to the few, like state run lotteries:
a disguised tax on the torpid.

“Prevailing wisdom” prevails only in Fool World.

Fame & Power.
Only those unsure of their power  --  seek fame.
Reputation in a herd can, on an individual cow,
candy coat a concourse of unseemly intangible warts,
“I’m famous  --   I don’t HAVE to be anything else!”  --
such is the stance of untalented, well-known men,
and thus is the indefensible position of all men’s natural born mind.

Those who say: “The exception proves the rule” have no idea what the rules are,
and have given up trying to fathom them.

Only those who do not understand what is going on
are encouraged to give their explanations of: what is going on.
(All things come to those who yak.)

Focusing.
Of basic importance regarding man’s inner world is: having something to focus on:
common men focus on their body;
more sophisticated men, on the matters that occupy collective humanity’s thinking, while only the certain man focuses on something
       that is intangibly profitable to him individually.

The sure sign of know-nothingness is that you think about things other people say.

The more humble seems a famous person,
the less sure they are of deserving their fame.

Unstated (Hell, Unwanted) Motto Of All Herds:
“United we stand  --  as a bunch we’ll tip over     ----      and pretend to like it.”

Those widely unsure of what to make of man’s intangible reality
try hardest to speak as though fully confident that they understand;
without this pretending, civilization and all forms of culture would collapse forthwith.
As in all immaterial instances: only the man who knows can get-out-of-the-way.

A son said to a father: “You frequently describe man as composed of:
red, blue and yellow circuits (representing body, emotions and mind) no?!”
     “Si.”
“So --  is that why you commonly sign your name in green?”

Ordinary thought: the chittlin’s of haute cuisine.

J

Two tykes were trying to play grown-up, and one said:
"How can you tell that you're enlightened?   --   you don't care anymore."
      "But you could say the same thing about a dead man!"
"And your point is?...."

FYI: No one can join in in Fool World, and no one can take you there;
it is an each-man-exclusive amusement park.
