The Lost Creation Story
Though
now never heard,
it
says that Zeus
created this entire universe, with all its stars and galaxies --
and
Earth,
with all its different people and diverse personalities
just
as props into which to place and irritate this one man who, for some reason,
had
caught his attention in another reality --
the
punch line turns out to be that you IS dat man.
Some
people clearly enjoy writing to say that they have discovered ideas that
seem
to them similar to ones reported on here, from other pens, from other times,
which
apparently allows them to then joyfully dismiss what is said here
as
being irrelevant, or some sort of fraud.
Not
uncommonly do men say:
the
older you get -- the wiser you become;
also
not uncommonly:
the
older men get -- the stupider they become.
Note
how life must accommodate itself to physical conditions,
while
conditions don’t do anything;
note
how conscious forms of life can rearrange physical conditions to better
suit them, and conditions still don’t have to
do anything other than be passive
& compliant (although sometimes [from a human view] they do seem
to bite back).
“Pa pa -- has your mind ever tried to: bite-you-back?”
“Son, if it doesn’t -- you aren’t doing TheThing
right.”
Trying
to believe in God is men unwittingly trying to have confidence in their
mind;
those
who insist they have full faith in God
obliquely
admit they have insufficient faith in their mind,
(those who believe in awakening -- do).
Information & Entertainment
Information is what you have about the physical world:
The
desire to be fascinating gives a feeling of excitement to ordinary men,
but
a thalamusache to the rebel;
wanting
to be known is the attempted substitute for not knowing what man is about
-- for not having an informed, individual self of your own.
Said
a father to a son:
“Criticism
is not the sole silliness --
one
man’s mere reviewing
of another man’s work also fits the bill.”
.........“Pa
pa, I’ve always wondered: who is this Bill on whom so much seems to fit?”
Ordinary
minds cannot talk about the equation: 3 + 2 = 5 without referring to 3,
2 or 5;
only
a man who knows
can illuminate the matter (at least to himself) sans such.
An elephant can injure himself trying to show off for fleas.
An
ordinary man can only speak knowingly on the physical world,
all
he says about other realms is gibberish;
only
the certain man could speak meaningfully about man’s intangible world,
(though
there is no reason that he should --
since
there is nothing to be said about it -- well,
nothing
that other men could comprehend
[see,
it's mostly impossible to talk about something insubstantial
without
it then seeming to ordinary minds to
have substance;
once
you tell a child there is a Tooth
Fairy -- you’ve created
a monster --
two,
to be precise: the Tooth Fairy,
and a human who believes there IS one.])
Ergo:
you can profitably listen to an ordinary man expert in chemistry,
but
none in any subject not layable on a lab table.
If
you care whether other people believe you are smart or stupid,
you
are not very smart (to put it charitably).
Ordinarily
wired people who are suitably civilized are exemplified by those whose
purchases are determined by what is on sale, rather than any need,
or
even notable desire they have for an item;
this
ingrained posture applies not only to physical goods, but ideas as well;
In
a private manner,
no
way hostile toward the standard structure of humanity’s collective life,
the
certain man’s, family-values
are confined entirely to himself.
A
son asked a father: “What to you is hyper funny?”
“Acting:
ordinary people attempting to portray ordinary people;
the
fact is that ordinary people themselves can’t pull it off –
which
makes actors straining to pretend to,
an
unwitting source of absolute ridiculousness.....(if you can see it.....which
be warned,
will ruin your movie-watching
life).
While
reading, a man stopped and pondered:
“This
science writer says the many rhythms going on in the brain’s neurons are
tied to man’s interest in music, rather than noting they must be the source
OF music;
why
do not men ordinarily see such matters from this perspective
instead
of the other way around?”
A
man who says he does not care what people say about him -- cares;
men
do not say anything about anything unless it matters to them.
One man’s proposal: “If, at the moment just before you die, you jump up in the air, you’ll save your ankles.”
