(Expansion
of March 28.)
When
people talk, no matter the apparent subject,
they
are mostly talking about themselves,
and
when people talk specifically about themselves,
they
are talking TO themselves;
humans
are not normally constructed to take note of the first,
and
if anything, are even more oblivious to the second,
but
to a man with special hearing, nothing rings clearer in the audible realm.
When
the subject a man is talking about is not something that physically exists,
then
he is talking about himself (and possibly humanity collectively),
this
is no theory but plain fact --
if you can naturally grasp
it;
if
not, it cannot be proven to you; you are by nature, one-of-them (that
is:
the
normal majority).
As
elusive as this fact be to standard wired nervous systems,
it
saliently sings its song clear and constantly everywhere:
a
man sobbing and moaning in grief over the death of a loved one, once he
begins to speak, will immediately, invariably detail how HE has suffered
thereby:
how
he hasn’t slept well in days, has lost his appetite, has been unable to
enjoy life,
all
of these personal complaints -- as his mother lies there cold in
the coffin,
and
this is no childish carping on some people’s insensitivity or stupidity,
this
is how all men are normally wired and programmed (same as animals are,
only
difference is, beasts can’t speak).
Whenever
men talk about any matter that you cannot feel with your hands
(grief
for instance) they are talking about themselves,
and
when this is noted, you either instantly and dispassionately realize it
is so,
or
you do not -- you were never intended to -- and
that is the end of it for you.
Ergo:
in a competently civilized milieu
(to
wit: wherein men are not daily having to physically fight to merely survive)
men
spend little time talking about matters directly related to survival
(which
would be matters of technology),
but
rather speak mostly about recreational matters (matters of culture),
but
without the recognition that when they talk about any non essential matter
(not
one of technology) -- they are talking about themselves
--
thus
you have a normally unheralded situation wherein the large, large majority
of
the
human sounds heard in civilized setting are songs men are singing,
unknowingly
about themselves. (Now into the even juicier cut.)
The
above constant and misidentified background noise aside,
men
do spend a great deal of their vocal life specifically
talking about themselves,
telling
others, what-kind-of-person-they-are
-- but this too (for the
few) is a fraud,
for
when men talk about themselves, men are talking TO themselves;
as
people minutely detail to others, their ideas, beliefs, and tastes:
their
talents and shortcomings; their successes and failures;
their
goals and experiences,
they
are not attempting to convey personal information about themselves to others,
but
are in truth, trying to explain and describe themselves TO themselves.
And
here, once again, you find man’s nervous system wired and programmed
to
operate in a manner that belies how it is wired and programmed to SAY that
it does, (this one of the early fundamental discoveries the certain man
makes
in
his specialized inner expedition).
The
conscious activity in the human brain is by nature talkative --
and instinctively, (when survival is not an imminent concern) wants to
talk about itself,
under
the guise of talking about the human in which it resides.
When
related to physical matters outside the person,
human
talk makes life more comfortable and sustainable;
when
the talk is pertinent to matters which exist only inside of consciousness
itself, the talk does not merely make the matters more likely of survival,
the
talk is imperative FOR their survival,
(if
a day passes wherein no one talks about them, rest assured that,
God,
Jack Frost, and the spirit of Thomas
Jefferson are sweatin’ bullets).
Human
consciousness (and its surrogate, human beings) do not talk about themselves
to make themselves more comprehensible to other humans;
men
(and in disguise, their consciousness) talk incessantly about themselves
in
a never ending endeavor to -- (does it really have to be said?)
Humans
talking about themselves is life’s consciousness (as manifest in humans)
trying to make sense of itself,
and
in so doing, collaterally helping to sustain an illusion
(perhaps better put):
a
sensation-without-tangible-support
--
the
sensation consciousness produces in humans of them BEING the consciousness;
so
-- by men talking about themselves TO themselves,
consciousness
verbally tries to stand itself up for the study of itself,
while
simultaneously establishing itself as the study-ER (a man’s sense
of an inner self),
all
done incessantly, and all outside of man’s direct cognizance (or
at least concession).
No
man is in the position of saying whether this is an efficient move on life’s
part,
or
not,
all
that is possible is to recognize what is going on
so
that your consciousness is not all spent in support of this collective
activity,
leaving
none for that special, individual pursuit.
Talking
about yourself is not wrong, evil, untoward,
or
from any normal perspective, condemnable,
but
from the certain man’s corner, it is a supreme time-waster and self-misleader;
the
things your consciousness says about you are useless,
if
they had any value, you and everyone else would have changed years ago
when
you first heard them all.
An
ordinary man trying to describe to other people the kind of person he is,
deep-down-inside
serves (you can only assume) a profitable purpose for life;
attempting
to put yourself into words is (for the would-be rebel)
about
the worst thing he can do --
for
in so doing, he helps prop up a vacuous tyrant -- a ridiculous
dictator --
not
just without clothes -- but without substance.
A
man talking about himself -- describing the kind of inner person
he says he is,
is
no more than the Tooth Fairy
struggling by argument, to prove her existence;
with
some people, she succeeds (okay, with most) -- does she with
you? --
or
do you begin to catch on?
Oh,
it is difficult -- from one quite rational vista --
impossible:
“Consciousness
can never understand itself --
When
you know what is going on --
you
know what you
are in the scheme of -- what-is-going-on,
and suffice it to say,
you
then see nothing to say about yourself -- hell, full
fact is,
there’s
nothing then to say about anything,
“you”
just happen to be last on the list of things about which there is nothing
to say.
Ordinary
men talk about their selves because they don’t have one;
a
realized man does not talk about his self;
only
people who have never been to Atlantis talk about the place --
--
where all have you
been?
