Just
as the elderly have nothing socially (hormonally) in common with the young,
as
far removed also are the certain man’s natural born thoughts from his
later-life,
cultivated ones.
In
return for a good turn done, a genie said to a man:
“Today
I can grant you one of two wishes: that you be rich, or from another world;
which will it be?”
and
the mortal pondered for a moment, then asked:
“Does
the latter apply to me physically, or mentally?”
One
mother so cautioned her son:
“Don’t
ever be part of a cult, so that someone else runs your mind!” and the lad
mused: “What the hell does she think’s going on now.”
This
item in from an unusually radical travel agent:
There
are as many places to go as there are people to go to ‘em.
(The
mental implications of this are far too explosive to exploit at this time
[pursue
them on your own -- away from exposed city structures.])
One
correspondent sends in this definition of: Civilization:
the
dumbing
down of men under the clever disguise
of raising them up.
(You
know, if that wasn’t so totally off base -- it’d be dead on
the mark.
Metaphysical
News.
The
only way you can become a solid follower of any teaching or tradition
is
to delude yourself regarding it.
Have
you yet to notice that bad news does not need to be sheltered and cared-for
as
does good?
An
ugly woman can only be loved if you think pretty thoughts about her;
the
naturally alluring one doesn’t require any of your mental gymnastics.
“Say
pa pa, might that have pertinence beyond physical appearances --
say,
in
the area of the mind?”
A
Royalty Based Quiz:
What
is more pathetic than a king acting like he understands what his reign
is about?
Putting
a name on the wind doesn’t reveal its source.
("May
be, but putting a name on something makes the dumb feel less stupid!"
And
now another: Self-Evaluation-Test
that you can take at home.
You
can determine precisely how dumb you are by how seriously you take
other
dumb people’s warnings and predictions.
Recently,
so was one man struck:
“What
is there for my mind to dread –
since
without thought -- there is no future to come?!”
And
another chap reflects: “Putting a name on something DOES increase its cost.”
Ordinary
people do not want to be thought of as such --
truly
extraordinary ones don’t care.
The
more saturatedly you feel/know what humans are doing,
the
more effort it takes to bring yourself to mention it,
(aka:
the turning of eagles into turkey sandwiches).
Only
a man who -- at the end of the day can say: "Hey! --
that's
not the end of MY day!"

There
is much to recommend the S.S.
(symmetrical spoonerism, e.g. “dazzling day”):
the
unexpected repositioning of familiarly placed symbols while yet maintaining
a perfect balance;
this
is quite similar to what the certain man does in his efforts to assist
his consciousness
in
bringing itself under its control.
Perhaps
overcome by the holiday spirit, and memories of all they had been through,
one man said to his mind:
"I've
just got to say again that you are WAY too good to me...................................though
perhaps I should not --
least
you decided to stop being so."
