How
Things Work Amidst A Crowd, Part 22:
At
the conference, a man stood and said:
“It
is now my conclusion that all ills this side of death can be successfully
treated by
an
increase in water consumption,” and a passing waiter snidely muttered:
“Why
exclude death from your crackpot idea!”
and
after pondering this for a moment, the man said to the legitimate assembly:
“All
right then -- I propose we include death” --
and it was unanimously approved.
Fact:
100% of an error is still an error,
and
total blindness is still just blindness;
the
collective thinking of man cannot go
unless
it goes over the edge and off the deep end.
When
every one is playing the song in G,
everyone
in the orchestra hears only the key of G
-- what else?! --
yet
commonly do men say they eventually expect otherwise.
One
man’s motto be: “Expectations without personally generated representation
is worse than tyranny -- it’s stupid!”
If
you have the ability to separate your mental senses from humanity’s overall
static -- listen! -- and you’ll hear that everybody says what
everybody else is saying –
they
do not know what else to
say;
anything
freshly insightful will never come from out-there
–
only
from in-here
(that is: for the few who actually have an individual, in-here).
If,
as the old proverb claims: “The receiver of stolen goods is as guilty as
the thief” where does that place those who entertain the thoughts of others.
And
one man notes:
“It
is not so much that those who rhapsodize about the human condition cry,
but
that they drown in each other's tears.”
An
attorney for The Green Bros. Midway Shows & Attractions
is
seeking an injunction to prohibit any further use of language,
claiming
it to be an illegal infringement of their patented, Trick
House Of Mirrors.
Those
who believe that man needs to be saved
from something -- cannot be helped
(assuming/pretending
for the moment that there is such a thing as non physically, helping-people).
The
less does your mind reside in the brain’s thought-only reality,
the
less time you have available for personal or psychological problems.
In
an effort to by pass those uncomfortable, middle-stages of
normal
urban (mental) development,
one
city simply forthwith condemned everyone’s
property -- and
ideas --
--
then announced that everyone could take an extended nap.
At
The
Conference To Investigate The Strange Journeys Phenomenon,
a
speaker so proposed:
“The
purpose of those puzzling and complex train schedules
purportedly
to an extraordinary destination
is
simply to keep people interested in such ideas so involved in trying to
make sense of them that they never get around to being upset over their
failure to ever go there,”
and
a janitor cleaning an adjoining hallway upon hearing this froze and thought:
“So!
-- that’s it!”
In the other reality besides the physical one, which man’s mind has created,
things are as words, at any given moment, propose them to be,
and no other words at that instant can refute the claim;
it is solely by this verbal/neural slight-of-hand that
man’s special inner reality is sustained.
And
one man who has spent his life studying such matters offers this conclusion:
“All
of the various extraordinary goals proposed by man’s many religions,
and
mystery cults are in truth, allegories for one single possibility
-- and god!
One
day a man put his arms around one of the trees in his yard and said:
“You
have always been my favorite,” and the tree asked: “Why?”
“No
reason,” replied the man, “If there were -- you wouldn’t be
my favorite.”
(Legend has it
that this story was originally about an extraordinary man and his thoughts.)
An
out of planet visitor recently noted as he left:
“Humans
are the only species I’ve ever seen who routinely prefer to lecture one
another than have sex with one another! –
can
you believe that words can be that important -- any
words!
Is
this galaxy-class weird, or what.”
(Often foreigners
do not readily grasp local customs.)
Another
provocative feature of trying to get
to the bottom of things
is
that to ordinary ears it can sound like an unnecessary additional burden,
and
complication to man’s already stressful and frustrating life,
while
for the few inherently born to it,
it
is the only thing in life actually nourishing and satisfying.
“All pleasure is but skin deep,” said one man,
“And thanks be to god,” noted his skin
(in a few, this last line would be spoken by their cortex).
One
man had a hamster in a running wheel --
which
he sometimes mistook for his mind --
and
whenever he’d catch himself doing this, he’d shake his head and say:
“Hey!
-- snap out of it!’" and the hamster would say: “Hey -- who
are you talking to?” -- and there in a shutnell is the rebel’s challenge:
who
-- in his own head -- is he talking and
listening to -- who?!
The
answer to that is the answer to everything.
