At
the conference, an attendee took the floor and said:
“Man
is the only species which gives birth to twins,”
and
someone immediately countered: “That is most certainly not so:
many
other animals produce multiple off springs,”
to
which the man replied: “You just don’t get it, do you?”
(the rest of
the assembly took a quick vote and agreed that, no -- they didn’t!)
The
neat thing about city dream-restaurants is that all portions cost the same,
and
you can send any dish back, and have the exact same one returned to you
with
you never being the wiser.
Men
concocted the term, intellectual-growth
because of how badly,
cannibalism
sounds.
Another
way life protects the city’s status quo is that if someone does accidentally
get
a brief glimpse of what is really going on it makes them immediately say:
“I
must be imagining things,”
(which is a tad
humorous in that such is their normal mental state from which
they just had
momentary relief
[and sub rosa,
life cautions: “Don’t laugh too loudly, or the others will wonder what
is going on”]).
And
someone writes:
“Years
of reading about men seeking secret knowledge about life from other men,
and
then watching you speak of life as though it is an actual living thing,
interacting
with man, on a verbal level even, drove me to ask myself this:
If
life did have something extraordinary it wanted a man to know,
how
would it get him this information other than through his own thoughts.
Your words originally gave me a constant headache, but now --
not so much so.
Sincerely,” etc.
Then
there is this guy who tries to blame everything
on life, and whose, Guy-Permit is
said to be under serious review by the authorities (the
city can’t be too careful.)
The
simple sometimes claim that they receive messages from gods,
and
other external entities –
a
claim that makes the reality of what the certain man realizes
sound
rather unimpressive.
Which
roused another chap to propose:
“Might
the reason some have so long had bad things to say about sleep
be
that it gives the internal voices even greater leeway?”
And
whenever he was close to a mirror, one man would frequently go to it,
look
fiercely at his reflection and growl: “You
haven’t heard the last of me!”
And
when another chap first heard of the song title: “It Had To Be You,” he
mused: “Who else?!”
And
on one planet, the creatures at the top of the evolutionary ladder were
robots -- -- with parrots perched atop their
heads.
And
this one woman had soooo
many thoughts --
--
she had to get her brain to help out.
There
is a simple way to determine if what you are reading or hearing
has
any real value or is simply bullshit:
if
it's serious -- it’s bullshit.
On
one world,
when
away from the hustle-of-survival, and in the hotels-of-entertainment,
some
creatures have the most fun from the waist down, and some from the neck
up,
while
a scant few rely on internal room service to provide them a total
blowout.
Picking-&-choosing
is proper to items in a cafeteria line --
--
not those in the mind’s mental-only realm.
In
the special bistros outside the city:
the
briefer the dish the better.
Corollary:
a man who knows what is going on can eat anything --
anything.
“Son,”
said a father, “I should not have to remind you of this (but I will):
anyone
who dislikes a person for non physical reasons is jealous of that person.
Muscles
will resist others, but only neurons will revile them.
And my boy, if you really hunker down with this one
you can make yourself see how it applies to what goes on inside your
mind
regarding the thoughts that appear there.”
A
man who realizes what is going
on faces no opposition --
--
anything he eats agrees with him.
And
every morning -- first thing,
one
man would rap himself sharply on his temple and announce:
“Stay
tuned for further developments!”
