CITY CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN
A DEFENSE FORCE,
THOUGH NEVER ATTACKED, SAVE BY SELF

Everyone walks a well trodden path –
the one laid out by life and then trampled down continually by the local herds of man;
the reality of this physically is clear to men, but they rarely grasp its applicability
to their mental life.
Whenever man’s inner/cultural life is spoken of,
even by those deemed by their peers to be of superior intelligence & insight,
what they will say is what has been said before  --   it is always so, and always unseen.
By their particular genetic instinct do all animals walk a quite specific path physically, something vital to their survival;
the animal man has the addition of thought-producing-consciousness
which by nature says itself to be not so confined,
a claim irrefutable by minds treading mankind’s normal mental path,
but one which when seen from a perspective off the collective rut, is laughable.

Man’s body cannot pretend;
its never ceasing reactions to the physical environment in which it exists
are always genuine and germane to the conditions --
to survive, it has no choice  --   by instinct, it has no choice,
and his collateral thoughts are never in conflict therewith, but –
when his mind is not so forcibly engaged it will by design drift to matters not part of
the physical world outside of man, but to a world inside of man  –
one created entirely by his brain’s thoughts,
and one which exists nowhere but in his thoughts;
in this realm, pretense is quite acceptable  --  pretense is king,
yet the mind does not see this in-house, self-directed activity as in any way
a form of pretending.
What occurs in a dream is real --   to those in the dream;
whatever the Queen of Hearts proclaims is so, is so to all in Alice’s Wonderland;
there is literally no escaping this confinement for thoughts treading mankind’s collectively common, mental paths.

When speaking of the physical world in terms of technology and science,
as men's understanding of and ability to manipulate it increases,
the mind, reflective thereof, is capable of saying things that are constructively new,
and off the established mental path,
but when mind begins to speak about man’s (its) inner-only-world of culture
(religion, politics, arts, and abstract ideas) anything it will have to say
will always be something taken from a locally familiar verbal track.
To survival ends can the mind entertain unexpected ideas about
the world outside of man,
but for the world inside of man (which the mind has created) to survive,
no ideas contrary to its self-governed reality are allowed;
men’s ordinary thoughts do not decide that they will bar such  --  it just happens  --
it is an instinctive reaction of the mind;
if indeed it were to occur in routine minds it would be as destructive thereto
as would be carbon monoxide in the lungs;
only the few men born with a genetic neural anomaly can handle such a thing,
or in fact, are ever interested therein;
The ordinary consciousness of man-the-species is programmed to seek out and let in
only ideas about the world it has created that are familiar to it;
mind can tolerate hearing that a new element has been discovered,
but not any professed discovery concerning its own realm that is so new as to be upsetting to that world.
Many ordinary men’s mouths say they want, extraordinary-knowledge
about themselves and life  --  if such be available,
but they do not  --   they cannot  --
the normal, genetic wiring of their brain will not permit it;
if such non standard knowledge does it exist, it is in a language
not that they simply do not speak, but in one that they cannot even hear.

In the allegorical, city sector of consciousness,
no information about the city, consciousness, or the things therein
about which men so often think but can never touch,
is available to that sector of consciousness.

You must (if you have the potential) leave the city area of your mind,
and abandon the well trodden verbal paths of your neighbors:
this tack alone will lead you to the full realization of what is going on in life;
for a few men  --   accomplishing this IS life.

The certain man’s private theme:
“Give me just the facts --
I’ll have my recently deceased friend provide any follow-up commentary should any prove needed.”

The con-crete  --   not con-cepts
is the way of the realized.
