It is not possible to overestimate how tightly wired is life,
which, for ordinary people and purposes serves well
in that a person can experience a calamity that seems to totally unravel their
normal inner life, yet they will gradually adapt to the new conditions,
and soon be their old self again,
and while this programming is a boon for the majority,
a man trying to get to the bottom of things and himself  --  finds it to be otherwise,
for the arrangement's ramifications are that,
no matter how disruptive he may willfully cause his circumstances to be,
for the dual purpose of keeping himself mentally attentive, and for throwing the thing in his mind which by nature insists on presenting itself to him as him,
off balance by the unusual, specific attention,
the thing will struggle incessantly and damn nigh irrepressibly to regain its equilibrium, and domination of his consciousness.
A man wanting to free himself from the inner distractions natural to man could cut off his leg to serve as a constant, unavoidable reminder for him to be attentive to his mind, yet soon (if he is not super attentive) he will be back as distracted as before,
only now having one leg  --  which he has become accustomed to,
and really never notices  --   same again as with his mind.

The certain man’s secret trick --  if he can ever discover/develop it for himself  --
is to cripple himself in his mind  --  not his body  --
which is much more difficult for his consciousness to accommodate and ignore.

The entirety of what bristles and drives the certain man is his/man’s natural state of being inattentive to thought;
un mindful of the undirected activity that normally constitutes his mind;
man the species is wired, programmed and constructed to operate thus,
and none can say he has not been successful in doing so  --   none but the silent few, born with a genetic anomaly in their neural schematic that causes a normally inactive part of their brain to find disfavor with the way the rest of the brain operates thought-producing consciousness (that is):
a particular area of their brain’s consciousness is unnaturally aware-of and attentive-to the totally mechanical nature of the brain’s normal operation of consciousness;
like a complex, completely automatic machine that continually, and unmindfully performs the work for which it is intended,  with a small, non standard gearwheel
down in its midst which alone takes conscious note of the machine’s operation;
having such an uncommon component in their brain is what, throughout the history of man, has driven a few men to such such assertions as:
Men-live-at-least-partially-in-a-mental-dream-when-they-could-be-awake, and:
men-live-amidst-inner-shadows-when-they-could-come-out-into-the-light, or:
men’s-minds-live-in-captivity-when-they-could-be-free,
and all such descriptions reflect the same reality of man’s consciousness:
the thoughts for which it is a conduit, flow automatically,
with no active participation of the brain involved:
a reality completely beyond the notice of ordinary men,
but one of which a few are near, painfully aware;
it is for them that this instant Daily News is published  --
and it is they who must ultimately publish their own for themselves.

The sole conversation and conveyance of information valuable to the certain man
is that which goes on in his own brain as it operates as both speaker and hearer  --
but set up in him in a most surprising and potentially revealing arrangement  --
--  and only he can finally activate it.
In what better grade does efficiency come?!
