MATTERS
OF INTEREST TO THE CERTAIN MAN
_______________________________________________________
The
certain man sees being alive as a roller coaster ride,
and
learns to sit up straight in the front car and laugh along with life about
the ride;
you
are then moving along with the flow rather than being driven by it.
Just
like a pitcher trying to control the ball,
you
need to put a mental spin
on the thoughts your brain throws out.
The
way to create your own neural motion beyond that naturally furnished by
life
is
through pretending to think anything other than what your mind wants to.
The
certain man is the only player on the field whose number means nothing.
The
certain man has a certain stringent loyalty but lets no one know what it
is.
At
first men established who they are through their actions;
later,
by their ideas;
the
certain man secretly reverses the process.
Consciousness can be pictured as a vaporous, floating cloud in the brain –
Time
is consciousness’ attempt to make sense of what seems to it to be
the
irrelevant -- a word not in the dictionary of the certain man.
The
mind’s time is where all things it contains are resolved,
by
them eventually evolving into their opposite;
time
is the mind’s attempt to obliquely confront
the-great-unknown-force-behind-everything
(if
there be one).
Every
human transaction has three components come actors;
a
new house on the market is the result of the bulldozer operator
who
cleared the land of all the trees, protrusions and previous structures,
the
contractor who constructed the new dwelling,
and
the potential buyer who looked it over and said: “I’ll
think about it.”
As
concerns things in the mind: time
solves everything,
since
it confines
all -- within the mind;
cram
enough wild hyenas in a room and pretty soon
the
room will give up.
There
are three things: the pertinent, the impertinent,
and
that which mind does not perceive.
In
some worlds, that which is smallest is the most mechanical;
in
all worlds, that which is most mechanical is most difficult to change;
ordinary
consciousness is the smallest possible expression of
consciousness.
The
certain man’s attitude toward the largest things – and the smallest,
is
basically the same.
Any
entry into a system is also a potential exit.
Exercise
& longevity: which causes which?
Time
can seem to change the answer to anything
(which is why
the certain man is watchless).
Question:
How can you tell a dead certain man from a live one?
Answer:
No one can but the certain man.
Question:
But how can anyone else know if he really can?
Answer:
By the fact that he never mentions it.
A
change in circumstances can seem to change the answer to anything
(which is why the certain man avoids circumstances whenever possible).
What
if what words say is not their importance,
and
the meanings they seem to convey, not their purpose;
what
if their real effect is physical and not mental, but men do not realize
it?
There
is a land where all equations are complete,
and
meaningful messages have no verbal form.
Ordinary
consciousness feels a depth to itself that is entirely undeserved,
but
minds, naturally thin, can conceive it not;
no
one is quite so fat as the imaginarily fat.
A
man who can think
has
no interest in what other people think of him;
a
man who recognizes what intelligence is
has
no concern for how intelligent
other
people believe he is;
a
man who understands what being a human is
has
no interest in humans -- outside himself (and
only him for scientific reasons).
Life
means nothing to the dead,
as
does death little to the living.
What
do men really mean when they say of someone:
“He
let his heart rule his head”?
One
man’s private motto is:
“Having
no future is one hellava interesting way to spend the present.”
Everyday,
intelligent men are given to say:
“We
cannot let reversals and disappointments make us feel that
circumstances
are beyond our control, and keep us from recognizing that as conscious,
thinking creatures we can free ourselves from the hold of the external
world” –
routine
consciousness being incapable of directly realizing that its source is
the
external world, and that free therefrom -- it will never get.
The
grandest of rivers is forever tied to its teeny fountainhead stream,
and
even though the certain man still has his natural-born-consciousness in
his brain, he spends no time paddling up to visit it.
While
a fish can never be free of the water,
it
can cease embracing aquatic nightmares & daydreams.
Every
relationship is broken up by a third party –
this
is why the certain man is first: a couple --
then
a mènage à trois, and finally Onan
The Barbarian.
On
most worlds, the more security -- the less freedom.
One
man had some Rules To Live By,
but
would never say (even to himself) exactly what they were.
He
who really knows how to think can do so without having to use examples;
neural
energy unfettered -- finally turned loose.
Only
those who do not understand life -- take it personally.
Question:
do you, by paying attention to a thing, become part of
the thing?
Nothing causes anything -- everything causes everything.
Ordinary
consciousness stays prepared to react to all possible circumstances
in
a predictable and reliable manner --
at
the slightest provocation, the certain man is secretly set to fly off into
deep space, and disappear with his thoughts over the event-horizon.
Ordinary
consciousness is like a movie screen on which thoughts are shown;
the
goober grabber is that the viewer appears to be
the screen,
except
for the certain man who wills
himself out of the theatre.
The
captured warrior is always humbled: do not ever get captured.
Ordinary
consciousness always seems to, come-to-the-end-of-the-line
–
to
reach a terminal frustration point;
the
certain man learns to turn this around and releases fresh energy
in
an unexpected direction.
Re
Brain Templates: for new ideas to be
accepted by the mind they must at least partially fit over old established
ones to ever make it to the screen of consciousness;
these
are the facts of the matter –
the
certain man silently says: “Fuck such
facts”
and
makes non fitting notions fit in anyway.
The
only way to get rats out of your house is to force
‘em
to go,
As
the aggressive approach they always say: “Out of my way!” –
when
you realize that the viewer and screen are one,
ideas
lose all their aggressiveness.
Three
are three types of men:
those
you recognize, those you don’t and those you can’t;
in
front of a mirror, the certain man makes himself the third.
Ordinary
minds wrestle with the question of: birth vs. environment –
genetics
vs. experience, made presently by life to ignore the obvious:
all
experience is dictated by a man’s genetics,
and
all life arises out of the environment;
the
matter in question is really one of: form
vs. energy --
and
all mentally conceivable forms coming from energy, and the reality beyond
mental
comprehension being that they are both ends of the same serpent.
The
certain man plays with exotic neural snakes not to get bitten,
but
to find one which will swallow his universe.
Ordinary
consciousness cannot truly, scan-the-future,
for
all its conceptions of tomorrow are replays of the past
(thus does the
certain man [probably just as a joke] privately declare: “Screw the
future.”)
Two
lingering aftershocks: the knowledge that nothing is broken –
and
that people are incessantly attempting to make repairs anyway.
All
nervous systems capable of speech will ultimately prove to have
a
critical view of themselves
(this is why
the certain man, when given the choice of living in the basement or the
penthouse,
will opt for
the outhouse).
Mind
makes god-like judgements of other organs -- until they
turn sick --
this
is why when the certain man is ill, he tries to keep it from himself.
The
ordinary are driven crazy so-o-o-o easily,
while
it would take a gaggle of Greyhound buses to cause the certain man to
move
at all.
Even
though everything is not literally,
upside-down-&-backwards,
taking
this approach will serve you well.
Thoughts
are man’s fish gills to the environment;
filtering
what flows through them in a genetically programmed manner,
resulting
in the man’s mind perceiving a predictable and reliable picture of reality;
the
certain man’s cortical goal is to filter nothing,
and
to have no mental concept of reality;
he
with the realization lets all dogs bark for themselves
(or carps cavil for themselves, if you prefer).
Ordinary
consciousness is constantly engaged in making mental selections --
while
the certain man’s is continually considering all possibilities;
he
alone, in a manner of intelligence normally unknown,
resists
the encroachment into his thoughts of: “final
decision” –
for
him, mental tomorrow never comes --
his
special intelligence has forced the concept from his brain.
Public Notice For The Privately Interested:
Only the few are not in some manner -- frauds.
In the: I+
not-I =everything
equation,
the certain man makes “I”
90% of the formula,
while the ordinary feel the “not-I”
to be the ninety.
(Weird, huh?! how everything always seems to level out --
until one day you realize how things
work -- and after that --
-- nothing’s ever weird again.)
