THREE
NEWS STORIES IN SEARCH OF AN UNDISCOVERED READER
____________________________________________________________________________
On
one crowded world a certain man discovered an area where no one lived,
or
ever seemed to frequent --
a
place he found fascinating,
so
much so that he decided to move there,
but
discovered difficulties subsistent therein.
When
he described the place to his friends, none could understand its attraction,
many in fact appeared unable to even grasp what he was talking about;
but
on he went -- privately striving to relocate to the new area
he had discovered, and for years, without questioning his motivation for
doing so;
and
then one Thursday -- O! one fateful Thursday
--
he
had a thought -- a thought he had never had in his entire life!
Life
is whatever you pretend it to be --
all
of life for humans beyond the physical necessities is unquestionably:
whatever
you pretend it to be -- tricky thing is:
the
you doing
the pretending is whatever life pretends IT
to be.
One
man’s private approach is:
“Always
act like you are in control of every situation --
even if you are not --
even
if you clearly are not -- even if your thoughts tell
you that you are not.”
From
one view, at one stage of the game of trying to
DoTheThing
& gain the
realization
--
the
mind’s pretending is the prime obstacle thereto,
and
the cause of all that confuses and deludes a man -- and yet,
with
a minimally proper grasp of what the game is really all about,
conscious,
willful pretending can be, for the certain man, a most powerful
tool.
To
employ pretending in a way, eye-opening & head-clearing
requires
a man have some realization of how already pretentious is the entire life
of humans beyond their meeting basic survival needs;
you
cannot be taught this, and it certainly cannot be proven in any normal
sense;
you
can be told about it -- but then it takes an unusually
wired man
to
be interested enough to pursue or even consider the idea to the inner point
of ever realizing privately and entirely on his own, its validity.
Few
men who have ever lived or now do so have a brain programmed with the capacity
to realize (or at least, see-&-accept) that
everything
that interests them in life,
beyond
basic physical needs and their collateral pleasures
are
things the human brain creates and then pretends it did not.
No
human mind can possess the knowledge to say that this is a misstep of man;
it
simply is (to those who can see it) an indisputable, passionless fact,
and
once recognized by the proper recognizer --
life
beyond the eating level is never again seen the same.
After
seeing for himself, through his own personal eyes/I's
the
totally pretentious basis of all that ordinary men call culture and civilization,
the certain man then is able to take this powerful force of pretending,
and
rather than being bamboozled by it --
use
it to further his own private aim of not being bamboozled by
that
part of his brain’s consciousness which dictates ordinary men’s lives.
If
the thoughts and kind of mind and consciousness you were born with
say
it is dark -- pretend it is light;
if
they say you are frightened --
pretend
to be Daniel confidently strutting into the lion’s den;
if
they say that what they say to you regarding any & all things intangible
is
a reliable statement of the facts -- ignore it and pretend
you know better,
and
if they say that you do not know what you are doing or talking about……well,
just supremely pretend otherwise.
Fish
will never fly by pretending,
but
a certain fish with the
realization
will be released from believing that
he
can and should;
such
a fish then knows what no other fish knows:
water’s
middle name.
One
man who sometimes talked about DoingTheThing
&
the realization,
once
said something that particularly stands out in the near total lack of interest
it stirred among those who heard it
(most
in fact seemed able to pretend they heard it not):
he
asked them: “If you behaved and spoke exactLY like you believe a man would
who was fully awake to the reality of life -- but were just
pretending --
what
would be the difference in what you are doing and actually being
awake?"
Pretending is what puts man's mind into a dream;
J
P.S. There is
no way the certain man can do pretending incorrectly.
