THE
NEWS FROM HERE & YOU-KNOW-WHERE

Says
one man: “The trick is to be neither impressed-with , nor disdainful-of
yourself” -- “Trick?!” huffed a listener,
“Atrickis
making a quarter disappear --
what
you have just described is what stage magicians call an illusion
--
There
are but two mental pastimes possible for man:
worrying
that life is going to hell -- and:
learning
why men think this way.
(Six billion doing the first -- only a few the
second.)
At
a quite real and basic level: no one knows what they are doing --
at
the most basic
-- they literally cannot know – but
to get along in life -- you pretend that some do.
Just as the physical world does not belong to one person but to everyone,
Just
as to be a proper bureaucrat you must speak in clichés,
to
be part of any system you need to speak & think like
the system.
..............................(Apply
to head, thrice daily -- or more).
Ordinary
thoughts are the only thing in the entire universe that take them seriously.
The certain man will never get the answer he needs unless his ultimate question is original with him.
What
some people describe as man’s state of living-in-a-dream,
and
which they struggle to get free of
is
what most men actively seek out.
Tidy, huh?!
The
premier hobby of those not in physical need is suffering –
self
proclaimed, non physical suffering.
(“Hey, if you can’t have cancer -- you can have issues with
your mother!")
Nothing
is a problem to the certain man
unless
it is something he can hold in his hand.
In one quite unimportant sense: everyone is the biggest fraud they know.
To
the certain man, everyone talks funny who talks about things they have
been taught rather than things they have learnt solely on their own
(this includes experts in their fields).
The
laugh track to life is the voice playing in your brain.
The
certain man is interested only in himself;
he
does not find other people interesting in that he realizes that
they
are not interested in themselves in the same way he is himself.
One man says: “I no longer pay attention to the small irritants of life --
One
man handles one of his challenges like this:
“When
my thoughts tell me that someone is talking like an idiot,
I
take the position that they are just putting people on to see how they'll
react,
and
that any idiocy involved was me falling for it even for a moment."
One man says: “Yes, I know they are spying on me -- but I don’t care --
One
man notes: “Many people think life is some sort of joke
until
that day when,
after
the examination their doctor says those fateful words: 'You have a large,
unpaid
balance on your bill’.”
One
man says: "I am down to one complaint:
my
brain won’t cooperate!
--
and to a single, world class puzzler:
How
the hell can I think it is me
saying this rather than
my brain?!”
The
further from you you look -- the less you will ever see.
