THE
COUNTRY
(A
STORY FOR THOSE WHO GOT YESTERDAY'S REGARDING THE CARNIVAL BOSS & THE
KID)
____________________________________________________________________
In
a country of trillions,
who
pursed a profusion of professions and pastimes,
was
a small band brought together by their interest in a certain matter,
mostly
ignored by the majority.
Those
in the group were members of the same family as everyone else who made
up the country, and their basic physical life differed not substantially
from the rest;
it
was in the intangible area of ideas and understanding-things that
their distinction lay.
There
were several features of the place which you might find surprising.
The
country was under the total control of an unseen ruler,
and
not one of the trillions of inhabitants could take even the slightest action
without
they be directed to do so by the invisible sovereign.
Many
of the citizens were mutes, in fact,
all
of the blue collar workers who maintained the physical infrastructure of
the realm;
those
of the populacewho did speak,
talked
much about the work of their mute brothers;
the
other subject primary to their conversations concerned
their
dreams of the future which the incorporeal ruling force had placed in them,
interspersed
with reviews of their past actions to achieve same as a learning tool.
This
covers the full menu of what the verbal citizens thought and talked about,
but
does not touch at all on the matter of interest to the small band supra
signaled.
Make
note that those in this differentiated troupe were in no wise in opposition
to
any
of the activities carried out by everyone else to keep the kingdom running;
up
to a certain point, they were indistinguishable from them;
it
was a matter of them having an interest in something that seemed to be
beyond everyone else’s horizon-of-perception;
they
walked along with everyone else to Point
C –
but
then sensed something beckoning to them that lay somewhere beyond the normal
stopping place for everyone else,
and
to which everyone else seemed oblivious
----- (well, mostly oblivious).
Being
of the same family: those in the small clique understood completely
what
everyone else talked about,
but
when they attempted to talk about that matter of special interest to them,
their
fellow countrymen seemed either to not comprehend at all
what
they were talking about, and thus were not interested,
or
if they did show some interest,
their
interpretations of what the select group was saying were inoperatively
crude.
For
all practicality, from the troupe’s perspective:
no
one was directly interested in the certain matter that interested them
-- but them.
They
learned to live with that,
and
once they (as a whole) got past trying to interest others in their prized
subject,
or
being concerned in any way that they were not,
their
activity related thereto became more and more exciting and enjoyable;
among
themselves they relished, frolicked and rolled in their
endless
conversations and speculations thereabout;
compared
to their fellow countrymen (though in a way of no essential significance)
their
minds were like birds flying free
while
those of others were caged -- without knowing it.
Things
the coterie thought and talked about would have astounded their brothers
could
they have been conscious of them;
their
minds roamed the furthest corners of the universe –
nothing
apparently being beyond the grasp of their thinking --
but -- Ahhhhh!
--
not
quite so;
one
thing stood glaringly out of their awareness -- even their
notice,
and
that was -- Nawwww!
--
shouldn’t
spoil your potential pleasure by giving away the ending of the story –
everything
you need to know to put it together for yourself is contained in
what
has already been said........and if you find it not:
J
Today's redundant reminder: everything described above took place in a space you could hold in your hands.
