One man thought: “I’ve got to stop my mind from doing this” –
and now he has two overall states of mind:
one: wherein his mind is doing the thing he wants to stop,
and two: the state in which he is thinking:

                                     “I’ve got to stop my mind from doing this.”

Many of the people who take up this activity with a neophyte's enthusiasm,
later feel frustrated and discouraged, and have trouble remembering why they became involved in the first place......................................................................(okay, not many --  most.)

At every moment there are thousands of people throughout the world in schools, communes, classes, monasteries and retreats who are trying to make
mental contact with some extra mortal force,
or who are struggling to allegorically turn base materials into gold,
or who are searching for hidden knowledge which will answer all questions,
and cause the confusing pieces of life to fall into satisfying place,
and as unlikely as all of this may sound to outsiders,
the reality of what they are unwittingly attempting is even more improbable.

Common among these seekers is the feeling that they have been
called-to undertake some great work;
that they have been chosen to pursue some extraordinary course in life,
which is not unfounded, but they look without for the source of their summon --  a god, or some other supernatural force,
when it is from their own brain that the strange urge emerges,
and contrary to the historically popular belief amongst such people,
the provocation they experience is not to make contact with some
power or knowledge outside of themselves, but is rather an anomalous awareness of
a particular molecular activity in their brain that is stirring about  --
--  to a quite abnormal degree  --  trying to somehow represent to itself
the procedure involved when it represents physical reality abstractly to itself.

In these people (same as everyone else) the majority of their brain’s cells
are engaged full time in controlling vital physical functions,
and distributing information pertinent thereto,
but in such persons’ brains are cells who, at odd times when they have a free moment, institute molecular activity whose only interest is --
the molecular activity they have instigated:
they start up a line of non essential activity --  then suddenly
try to look at what they have done.
Trying to find The Lost Ark; the chin bone of Buddha, or the Holy Grail
is kindergarten play in comparison, for as obscure as such things be, at least they are perceived to have a material existence outside of the men searching for them,
while what the certain man is actually after is  --

--  the thing that thinks it is after something.

The minority people who feel and first believe that they are being properly driven to seek a something that the rest of humanity seems unconcerned about
are hearing this very, just noted non standard molecular activity
occurring in their own brain  --
and initially  --  in all instances,
the activity introduces into the person’s consciousness a vague goal which seems, without question, or any need to analyze,
to reside outside the man and the neural activity presenting it.
Like unto an unrecognizable figure awakening you in the dark of night
saying there is an intruder in your house,
and calling on you to help him look for him  --

--  the interloper being the one telling you this.

No amount of excitement or sincerity will enable a man to find mushrooms in a tree,
or his sole in Seoul;
all things are where they are  --  including all interests in all things incorporeal;
what you seek regarding the so-called: questions, paradoxes,
and spiritual conundrums of life is to be found in & exists no place else other than --
in the molecular activity in your brain that has raised and supports the search.

Making the great discovery is a hungry stomach realizing it should eat itself.

 One man thought: “I’m wasting my time trying to do this” --  which is true --
until the very instant when you fully understand what this means   --
--  and then you’re not  --
--  then you have achieved the realization.

The biggest fool's trap there be is listening to the thoughts which appear naturally in your brain
talk about matters which have no existence outside of thought.
