The
thing that troubles men cannot be cured,
for
that which troubles them is them
being them.
Every
human is troubled by being what they by genetic temperament are;
the
minds of ordinary people are programmed to see the cause of their troubling
to be outside of them, and most humans live out their days acceptably tolerant
of both their troubling and the commonly proffered explanations therefor;
No
normal man is not troubled, and not physically -- but personally
-- inside --
where
no one can see it; where no physician can treat it, and no one touch it;
this
makes the troubling all that more troubling -- frustrating
and puzzling.
From
he first began recording his history, man tells of being troubled –
by
strange voices; by inner heard accusations from deities;
by
privately felt disturbing stirring,
the
result surely of indecipherable machinations and conspiracies;
but
his ever exploding mind soon shifted and refined its self-conceived-focus
away
from the inexplicable sounds and images within itself,
and
looked outward for their source,
and
being in the midst of an infinite universe -- such was easy
to find,
(invent, actually,
but the mind does so enjoy playing little word games on itself).
Man’s
thoughts did not totally abandon assigning blame for his troubling on supernatural
figures, who for some reason wish him ill,
but
his mind has steadily concluded that it is other humans who cause him to
be personally -- deeply internally --
troubled;
from
his mother and father to communism and international banking conspiracies;
all
normal humans are troubled in a fashion that has no physical explanation,
and
the programming of normal human minds does not allow it to
look
at the actual source of man’s troubling –
thus:
that which troubles man cannot be cured --
it
can be understood by a certain type of man -- but cured? --
no.
Everyday
humans say that they are troubled by their thoughts;
troubled
by their emotions, and as perceived by the more sophisticated,
it
being the result of what someone else has said to, or about them --
their
mind finds their troubling to be caused by the thoughts and emotions
some
other human being(s) has expressed or displayed;
from
such a thought constructed platform -- cure appears feasible;
if
you know what caused something, the process can be retraced,
and
reversed, and attempting to do just that keeps most men’s minds involved
in
what they posit to be potentially beneficial activity sufficient to ensure
that
they
do not look at what is actually going on.
From
one view, the genesis of this situation -- and of all that troubles
man was life having the thinking that occurs in one part of man’s brain
to
invent an alter ego for the activity -- an imaginary playmate for
itself,
so
that what was and remains a unitary activity, now seems to
the
activity -- a duality; Batman and Bruce Wayne, and though they
are never both seen simultaneously,
to
those not in the know, they are two separate and totally different people
-- yet -- via no complex trickery whatsoever --
they are in truth -- the
same person;
the
illusion is pulled off and maintained by the simple act of
Batman
never being present when Bruce is and vice versa.
(If the citizens
of Gotham City weren’t such decent and well meaning people it would be
tempting to label them, imbeciles,
or at least the
most gullible forms of life international in the entire universe, huh?!
)
Inside
the Gotham City that is inside each man --
Bruce
blames Batman as the cause of him being troubled,
and
sure enough, when Batman is not present --
which
is when and only when Bruce can think this;
he
is not
troubled in what he recalls to be his usual manner -- and there is
the proof, (but this little cortical cartoon is even more interesting
than that).
Bruce,
by his programming, perceives his troubling twin to be the result of
external
forces: some one -- some word -- some emotion
--
some
thing
happened
in the life of Batman that has made him the
unsettling
partner he now be -- and now the story lands all fours on the
head of
the
certain man, for from his perspective:
when
his routine mind says: “I am troubled
by my thoughts -- by my feelings”
it
is what is troubling him that is saying this:
to
say this situation is subtle & elusive to see, is an award deserving
understatement - -- forsooth -- there is
no statement possible in this universe & reality
which
can come within light years of offering anything even remotely resembling
a
meaningful description of this arrangement working inside every human’s
head;
trying
to put it in words (the invention of the Bruce Wayne and the mind)
is
like telling someone to close their left eye --
and
asking them what they then see with that eye.
The
psychological
explanations
men’s common minds come up with for why he is troubled is a phenomenon
well known to the police:
when
a well publicized crime goes unsolved,
innocent
people begin coming in to confess;
this
is Bruce Wayne blaming Batman, and when the latter is not present --
--
(which is always when the former is) --
about
him the former can say anything -- and profess --
--
(without any possibility of objection) --
to
sincerely believe in the validity of what he asserts.
What
troubles you is not your thoughts; not your feelings;
not
what anyone has ever done or said to you:
what
troubles you is you being what you by temperament are,
(and
more usefully specific):
from
the view of the man determined to get to the bottom of things:
what
talks to him in his head regarding what troubles him
but
by its nature it will, unto death -- point its finger
forever away from itself,
and
most humans’ brains are simply not set up to be able to see what is going
on.
You
want to see what is troubling you? --
what
keeps you from the extraordinary, direct seeing of
what
is actually going on in you and in life? --
there
is but one thing you need look at:
the
thing in you that talks about you being troubled.
What a surprising end to a fascinating case:
Now
you gotta admit -- that
is an ending no one expects –
the
mind is not capable of even imagining it --
but
there, (once you see it, dear mystery lovers)
-- it
is -- and in an instant
--
--
explains everything.
"Case solved -- pop us a cold one, Dr. Watson."
