If you can’t eat it  --  there’s no explaining it.

Any interest you have that does not eventually lead to food cannot be explained;
humans however spend much of their time struggling to do just that  --

to others (it may appear) --   but also to themselves (my dear).

Aloof, t’would seem from basic survival needs do men have many interests,
ranging from the pronounced trivial (such as stamp collecting, and crossword puzzles)
to the presumed serious (politics, religion and all areas of intellectual speculation),
and the wide variations, along with men’s natural predilection to speak
(even when not necessary [combined with an X-factor]),
results in them saying much in defense-of their particular one(s)
as they attempt to explain come justify same to others
                                (whilst concurrently impugning theirs).

Ordinary people do not perceive such going on;
their reflexive and relentless explanations of their non edible interests
is so a natural, constant  part of their lives that the action is no more noticed
than is their breathing, but a man with TheInterest, and a clear eye & ear
can readily perceive it where so ever he turns.
If you take into account the time he spends in the privacy of his own head, along with that, overtly engaged so with other people –
a man expends more energy trying to explain his non essential interests
than he does in pursuing them;
again, a routine man/mind would deny this, but when you know how to look & listen --

-- you know better.

No one feels any need to explain their survival interests;
before a court, or tribal elders, a thief of food,
should he vocally respond to the charge would offer no comment beyond:
“I was hungry”-- nothing more need be said;
everyone understands his explanation for his actions
(whether they be lawfully tolerable or nay --  his explanation is clearly comprehended).
Not by any instinct do men feel the need to explain to anyone (including themselves) their interest in any activity pertinent to them staying alive,
but as automatic as can be is the urge to explain to anyone who will listen
(including their own captive inner ears)
their interest in activities which are plainly of a non essential, recreational nature,
and it is more refined than your initial hearing of this may strike you,
for it specifically applies to interests which have no physically perceivable,
even indirect connection to eating.
Ergo the recreational-interests being referred to do not include such activity as participatory sports (which can be viewed as practice for the chasing and capturing of food, no matter how anachronistic this may be --
what with a grocery store being next to the tennis courts where you play);
the point is that people have no problem in responding to questions concerning such activities to their instant satisfaction:

“Why do you run around working up a sweat trying to hit a ball over a net?!”--  “Because it’s fun.”--
that is all the explanation required concerning apparently frivolous physical activities which a keen mind however can see tied, no matter how torturously, to survival,
indeed, to take the backdoor approach:
if you can, to your complete satisfaction, explain an interest you have in some activity by the words: “It's fun,”  or:  “I enjoy it”
with no further urge whatsoever to justify or comment on your involvement therewith, regardless of whether or not it seems to placate an inquirer  --
then it is of the category of which we herein speak not  --
-- and which is of no concern to a man with that CertainInterest.

The exact manifestation of the urge to explain interests you have --

--  which you can never do,
is in non physical, and literally non essential matters,
which cannot be seen to have even an indirect connection to eating  --
it is here that this totally natural human affair takes, for the man with TheHunger, a rather nasty turn.

The more civilized, technologically based be the environment,
the more the people’s lives therein are spent engaged in mental activities about which they have an irrepressible urge to explain their interest in;
standard men-&-their-minds are driven as strongly to explain
why they are interested in politics, or religion, or history
as they are to actually participate in their formalities,
(and same with all the other thought-only matters that occupy men’s time),
and the more metaphysical seeming the matter be  --
the more vigorous will be the extended explanation of its attraction,
and passionate the justification for the participant’s interest;
the less physical sense something makes  --
the more of the verbal variety must be proffered.

All of this is simply a factual, state-of-the-union description of normal humanity
(and to say that something is wrong with it would merely reveal something wrong with you),
but for a man whose aim is to see what is going on in life behind the scenes,
(so to speak)  --  taking place just off the publicly visible parliamentary floor,
inside the cloistered lobbying rooms,
having his thoughts engrossed in this mental sausage making,
(necessary for common men's collective cortical hunger),
keeps him entangled in a fools’ pursuit:
that of following after his naturally driven mind as it attempts to explain
its seriously seeming involvement in mental matters that are meaningless;
this view is only valid for the CertainMan  --
but for him it is so significant as to be paramount.

While you allow your automatically appearing thoughts to explain,
and justify their --  your --  interest in some matter or idea,
entirely unrelated to your goal to see,
you remain irretrievably trapped --  immersed in the irrelevant morass.
There is no “explanation” for why the thoughts you came with
are interested in Snow White  --   and efforts to awaken her,
no more than is there an explanation for why
you always glance off to the left when you start to answer a question.

There are no explanations for any of man’s mental interests
(which cannot be discernibly traced back to survival instincts),
and only those with life times to fill with the empty and inane,
                       attempt  --  the unexplainable, to explain.

And this is precisely how the normally programmed minds of ordinary men
spend the off duty hours of their lives;
part of the programming obviously is to make this agreeable,
if not always entertaining to routine people;
they can enjoy trying to explain why they love god,
while the certain man’s thoughts are trying to explain why men’s brains do this;
others are entertained by attempting to describe to themselves and others what Utopia  --  a world without evil, or conflict --  would be like,
as the special man’s thoughts would be looking for a working description of
          the purpose behind man’s mind being the medium for such notions.

Those who do not know what is going on
are in a constant state of attempting to explain what is going on;

while explaining  --   no man knows;

as you think about why you think about what you think about  --
you are barred from thinking...........as thinking can be
                                       for the man who can see.
