If
you picture the effort to realize what is really going on as a mental investigation,
then
an extremely useful tool is the: always-one-more-step
approach,
viz:
whatever
you discover -- take it another step further;
no
matter how explanatory seems a find -- never stop there:
always
go one more step in your inquiry.
The
ordinary human brain is not programmed for this;
when
thought seeks a solution to a problem in the physical world,
and
finds what solves same -- it looks no further --
why
should it?!.........life's conservation of energy;
and
when thought wrestles with a question/problem in man's
thought-only,
inner world and a response appears that thought accepts --
that
is the end of that (for the same reasons as the first instance);
when
a man figures out how to start a fire, he thinks about it no more;
when
a man is told that his house burning down is a test by God,
and
accepts the explanation -- he thinks about it no more,
in the sense of looking for other possibilities.
The
way it is set up now, routine humans could not mentally survive intact
without
this situation being thus;
in
material challenges, they expect that if a solution is possible,
it
will be THE
solution; one that settles the matter finitely,
and
like wise (with no analysis being natural) do they
feel the same regarding the immaterial challenges their thoughts bring
up,
which
their thoughts invented and which exist only IN
their thoughts
(if there is
an answer to the thought-generated question: "Why is there evil in the
world?"
it will be one
which the particular individual's thoughts will find explanatorily conclusive
--
there must be
such for each person whose thoughts entertain such questions seriously
[everyone except
the certain man]).
Once
he has a functional grasp of the direction in which the investigation is
going,
he
has deserted all of the questions that beguile everyone else;
he
is not engaged in the question of why is there evil,
but
rather why do men perceive there to be so?
His
inquiring eyes/I's dwell not on the surface of things --
not
on what appears to be the subject of the question,
but
always something just -- one-step-beyond;
his
properly active investigation daily commences not only already beyond where
the
rest of humanity thinks, but then relentlessly on past where
even his own extraordinary thinking first takes him.
A
man who says he knows what is going on -- conclusively
regarding
any matter on which he cannot physically lay his hands --
knows
no more than everyone around him;
employing
whatever terms he cares to,
a
person who says they are, Enlightened
-- period, to the reality-of-man's-spirituality,
or
fully, Awake
to their-true-nature,
or
any such claim concerning that reality unique to man:
one
filled with a limitless number of things, questions and problems,
none
of which exist outside of his thoughts,
is
fooling their self and anyone who listens to them.
A
man who really knows what is going on with man's mental reality
knows
that only those who do not know can & will say that they do --
not
if the authority for what they know exists only
IN man's mental reality.
The
history of man continues to be replete with metaphysical explanations for
time --
a
man who knows what is going on has gone the necessary additional step,
opened
up the clock, and figured out how all the gears and pulleys work.
"It diminishes
your capacity to do things if you say that you cannot do a certain thing."
"Even if you cannot?"
"Yes."
"So -- what is the solution?"
"Is it not
obvious."
