One of the salient traits of humans (except for the patent nuts) is:
thinking you are more important than you are;
the reason humans seem more important on this planet than gorillas and wolves
is because gorillas and wolves haven’t gotten around to thinking about
how important they might be;
to maintain our position it is necessary that every individual human do their part,
and think much and often about how important they are.

Question: What is the thing that is the most important thing in everyone’s life
but no one has ever seen it, touched it, or knows for a fact that it exists? --
and the common response is: “I don’t want to think about it.”

No one is as pleasant to you as a monopoly; they will be verbally nicer to you than even enterprises which have to compete for your business;
they will speak to you with unequaled sweetness and concern  --
and then treat you as they damn well please.

Question: does this not remind you of someone, or something else?!  --
--  something really, really close to home?!

All words are about either one of two distinct type of things:
things which everyone knows exist, or things which no one knows to.

A primo example of mind (second only to radio broadcasts of baseball games)
is in the success of life insurance being sold as a way to “peace of mind”.

Although it does not appear on lists under the name, the all time most popular recreational pastime for all humans is: showing off  --   calling attention to themselves. (A strong number two is: preaching-to and warning others [which is really just a version of number one.])

There is no such thing as a human being hypocritical;
what it is is criticism directed at a man from someone outside a situation
who has no idea either how the situation could be changed.

A man with a single peanut can be your friend:
a man with a bushel   --  no,
for by the time he has collected that many,
he has fallen victim to believing that there is more to goobers than goobers.
A man can not catch on to what is going on without he appreciate the diversity of life and produce same in his own brain  --
only to eventually whittle down a forest to a toothpick;
then a man can be his own friend...........................................and roast his own goobers.

One man’s feeling is: “Screw adverbs!  If you have to use modifiers to describe what you do, you’re not doing it right”   (He also has nothing but disdain for adjectives: “If you need more than one word to identify the thing you are talking about, you do not understand the nature of the thing you are talking about,
and should just shut up about it!”)

 The world’s – nay, the universe’s most accurate  – nay, only accurate
identifying description of anything is: “That!” --
you point at whatever it is you are speaking of, and say: “That.”

........."But what about things you cannot point to?"

How can people readily agree that men live in illusions and then immediately go on living their lives as though they had not for a moment faced a supremely astounding and disturbing fact?  --  because they are humans  --   that’s why!

Catching on to what is going on is the only human activity that has no side-effects.
(Well, that  and having sex with a healthy person....with whom your hormones are severely smitten.)

Of all the things a person could, keep-in-mind
for the man with that SpeicalInterest, here is the most pungent:
You have to think about something and whatever you are commonly thinking about serves one purpose: it gives you something to think about  --  that’s it!

While ten years is not really enough time for a medical school to teach what is known about the body, the psychology department could impart all they know in a single class  --  a sentence: “We know nothing.”  (You could also include: Theology, Sociology, Political Science and Economics, [and others.])

In the labor dispute regarding you wanting to be raised from
your minimum wage mental state to a better paying one,
there is no, cooling-off-period    --   only a giving-up.

Once a month or so, one man says to himself: “You know what I like about you?” --
and never answers.
