Even though life is not dichotomous, trichotomous, or any other chotomous,
for a man with ThatCertainPassion to get-to-the-bottom-of-things,
dividing a matter in which he is interested into two discrete parts,
using an original formula of his own fashion can be of bountiful benefit;
another example, (obviously not of your creation, but to offer an idea of what is being pointed to):
imagine that in your relentless considering, pondering and trying-to-think-about things, it one day suddenly struck you that there are only two things you can think about,
either: you, or other people – and that they are two entirely different things --
and immediately following that it hits you that the mind normally commingles the two, and that is TheProblem (“TheProblem” always being
whatever matter you have currently stumbled on, such as the instant example):
that men would neither be confused about themselves or about others if they
faithfully abided  by the reality that you can only think about you,
and about other people, and they are clearly two completely separate subjects.
When you develop the talent for doing this constantly, what you first realize in any given instance is not by any means necessarily all that there is to it,
but when you learn to do it,  there is never any doubt as to
the absolute validity of the initial realization  --  for you --  and your purpose;
at that first flash you could not begin to explain, nor prove to any one else why your sudden seeing that: all-you-can-think-about-is-either-you-or-other-people
is so (nor would you try, sufficiently experienced in ThisThing),
but when you suddenly see something like this division  --  at that very instant --
you are aware that you have discovered something (made up something)
that will be providing you with long-term new insights and unimaginable benefits:
once sufficiently experienced in this, there is never doubt about this --
you cease to even think about it in this way:
it is like a child’s excitement after he opens a wrapped toy --
as soon as he sees what it is, he knows, without any thinking-about-it,
that in future days he will be thoroughly enjoying the hell out of it.

When you have found in you (if it be in you) the taste-of-recognition for this,
places it can be applied are endless;
any matter that catches your attention as you ChaseTheThing is subject thereto;
anything that seems to you pertinent to ever fully understanding what is going on in life can be so dichotomized, but it must be spontaneous and original with you,
(as far as you know at that moment);
using someone else’s division is not the same thing, and this is quickly clear:
nothing provides you with the benefits that are possible like your own
creations-come-discoveries  --   discoveries-come-creations
(one of the things you eventually realize is that they are the same thing).

Any matter that intrigues you  --  bothers you  --   pesters your mind ---
can be seen as clearly split into two completely separate, and totally different pieces,
(this is not ultimately true, but once you can ultimately see-for-yourself,
none of any of this or anything else you have ever thought means squat anyway),
and when this expediently perceived division is spontaneous and original (they also being terminally synonymous), from it will, spasmodically and sometimes overwhelming flow bountiful new insights, connections and understanding which would
never have entered your mind otherwise.

From one perspective, such dichotomous divisions are crude and childish,

           but from the view of usefulness  --  they can be without equal as a tool.

Originality is the all important feature: you suddenly seeing such a distinct,
binary split in some matter your thought was on --  in a context unique to you  --
that is the mind-jarring key:
going from such a basis is how you gradually realize what is needed to
finally clear your head for good.
Once you have developed this latent ability in you (if it be in you),
and had its taste on several occasions,
you firmly understand, every time you make such a created-discovery of
a previously unrealized dichotomy in some matter of common concern to man,
that it is telling you much more than you hear at the moment of realization;
it is like knowing that for the rest of the coming year there will be fresh new
xmas trees scattered throughout your inner house with never before seen gifts
at their feet;
take the opening example: to realize that the only two things you can think about are you, and other people, and that letting the two intermingle is the source of all confusion (one more time, remember:
these are not the only “two things you can think about,”
and commingling them is not the source of, “all confusion,”
but in such terms is how it will initially and instantly strike you,
and with just a tad of experience, all of this is quite transparent,
but only one faking TheChase will fail to use whatever works for him at the moment,
and what has been today verbally limned will work for more and longer moments
than many of the other tricks available in this specialized pursuit),
can lead your eyes to look at the matters mentioned in the realization in such fresh ways as to reveal a cornucopia of previously un noted facets;
what you might be able to personally realize from it --
no one else can surmise nor imagine;
       seeing-what-is-going-on is entirely personal,

and that which most encourages your seeing is personally produced.

Forget at your own expense  --    but remember to your rich profit:

                   in man’s inner reality (where getting-to-the-bottom-of-everything exclusively exists)
                   there is nothing to discover  --   whatever you find  --   you invented;
                   so invent something that is useful to your efforts to realize that
                   there is nothing in there to be discovered (such as the example herein noted).

Before it possibly gets written about here in greater detail,
you could, on your own, take the example today employed and run with it:
considering from your own individual perspective (which is the only right one, in that,
it is ultimately the most useful one), the proposition that:
the only two things you can think about are you, and other people,
and that commingling the two is what keeps you from seeing straight.
