For a man trying to get to the bottom of things: taking life personally is what confuses.

Ordinary men say life is a heartache  --  full of pain, sorrow, and disappointment;
but clearly man suffers nothing that does not befall every other creature;
how comes he call himself singled out for special misfortune,
and why does each man take his own unavoidable life so personally?
Ordinary men never consider such questions,
and a person SearchingForTheThing who never does,
will forever be stuck seeing life through ordinary eyes/I’s.

All humans certainly experience non physical pain (emotional sorrow)
such as seems caused by the death of a loved one, but other creatures routinely
have experiences related to death far beyond anything liable to man,
such as a day old fawn seeing its mother ripped to shreds by a lion;
man’s proposed position is that he is special amongst life on earth,
and thus is his pain unique;
he claims uniquely for himself a soul, or spirit which suffers about death in a manner unknown & unavailable to lesser creatures,
(and by extension into all other areas of his life, such as the heartbreak of having plans thwarted, something never suffered by strictly instinctively driven creatures lacking plan making abilities).

From the way it feels to be alive, to be human, and of perfectly normal mind:
life is full of emotional pain, sorrow and disappointment,
and no one but a fool, or he prepared to be labeled one,
would say to the contrary to those of normal mind and view.
Conclusively put: if you are an ordinary, sane person, without any doubt on your part:
your days on this planet are liberally strewn with heartache and unfulfilment;
and it is useless and ludicrous for anyone, including yourself, to tell you otherwise:
all humans feel thus, and verbally assert same,
and the majority is always right  --  as concerns those a part thereof –

--  and that is that.

But for those scant few (who, on good days, are just barely under the radar guiding the many) --  that is not that  --  it cannot be left at that, or else you will be left forever
wandering around the periphery of the majority’s camp site –
never completely in  --   but never totally free of its attraction.

Everyone bleeds when cut, hurts when bruised,
and every man’s physiology becomes tense, defensive and frightened when
the body is ill,
but what law requires that such things be took as a personal affront;
what purpose is served by mind interpreting such universal and inescapable
natural experiences as being unique to man and special to the individual?
Seen from a certain angle, this situation in man is tied directly to all aspects of his ascension to supremacy on this planet and his ability to rearrange the environment
to better suit his comfort, pleasure and survival:
so the mental position that life is full of heartache and disappointment --
--  and the taking-of-it-personally  --   is not to be summarily dismissed,
it plainly is an integral thread in the overall cloth of human life (as commonly known).

But for the few born with a wild hair up their head, passively accepting this natural human attitude that life is continually cutting-at-your-heart, soul, and spirit --
--  and in a quite personal manner at that  –
is a necessary part of nothing (other than remaining confused).
If you are to-the-struggle-born (which cannot be faked, acquired nor induced)
a keen looking into & consideration of this matter should soon awaken in you
an indescribable, undeniable realization-in-mute-feeling of the complete invalidity of this normal, species wide trait  --  to you individually.

This private understanding cannot be explained, nor defended  --  it is just there;
you are as aware as everyone else of all the experiences that come to men,
but your mind no longer takes them any more personally than clearly does
a hare fleeing a hound, or a palm confronting a hurricane.

What befalls man befalls all that lives;
from easy observation: life harbors within itself no safe-spots;
special areas reserved for special creatures
wherein they are exempt from the nastiness rampant everywhere else.

There is no everywhere else    --     here is everywhere, and you part of everything,
and from any meaningful view available to mortal mentation,
far from living an accursed life (compared to everything else)  --   man lives a charmed one --  man has it made,
but to keep it up, the ordinary must feel, think and speak otherwise,
but to ever see for themselves what is secretly going on right before everyone’s eyes
the few must not keep it up and drift internally downstream with it.

This is far too crudely put, but cannot be done so with any more useful finesse:
the few have their choice: either feel your heart continually broken by life  --  or:
wake up to what is going on;
either experience the sorrows and disappoints common to all other people  --  or:
open the dormant eyes in your brain right behind the ones on your face,
and see that there is an entirely different play going on beside the various tragedies being visibly performed.

It’s life’s party --  you can cry if want to, cry if you have to --  or:
-- have one of your own.
