THE NEWS

One man so mused:
“What a winning combo: Nature on the drums and man on the dance floor!
.................am I leaving out something?........................................................................................?"

At core what makes being alive so curious is that
no man had a personal motive for or intention of being so.

One man notes: “Just think: the mind capable of designing, building,
and launching staggeringly complex space craft into orbit
is the same one that argues over God’s real name & other inner reality inanities."

It is wise to submit to destiny, and those who do not were so destined.
.........…(”So what d’ya want for yer money, any way?!...........things don’t get no cheaper’an that!”)

Anything lost by A is, to a Z somewhere, a gain.

The job of the few is to see thru everything  --
--  including what is going on with being one of the few.

Thirst is cured by drink --  dizziness by death.

“If men hadn't a’gotten so smart
 they’d never think of themselves as ever being stupid.”
  “And if elephants had a’kept their big yaps shut
     they wouldn’t be now banned from air travel.”
“.........Ahhh.....I guess I’m too stupid to see the connection?!?”
   “That is one possibility  --   but just one, remember!”

Talking about what is on their mind helps ordinary people  --  and hurts the few.

When one man heard the proverb:
“He who acts as judge between two friends, loses one,” he mused:
“Damn, I wish that held true regarding my natural born mind,
and the one I keep trying to cultivate.”

Action is to excite the body  --   story telling, the thoughts.

One man says: “The reason I can’t stand to hear other people talk is because they sound just like my own brain at its worst, which is to say, at its most ordinary.”

Conversations are team excursions into the story-zone.

One man reflected: “If it weren’t for me, I’d have no one to pick on.”

One method taught by a certain wake-up-school was that
if you constantly wear a tooth-showing-smile  --   no one can put you to sleep.

Rats will leave a sinking ship, and roaches, a crumbling building,

but n’er a man’s stupidity,
                                           will so freely flee he.

One guy mused: “If I didn’t pay any attention at all to myself,
I wonder if I would go away?!?”

Life introduces nothing that did not from itself come.
(Take that! all doom dealers and scare squealers!)

All break-ups are acrimonious  --  ‘cept ‘tween a man & his distraction.

Those who say it will all come out in the wash,

                           generally like to have a hand in doing the laundry.

                         “You know the best thing about proverbs?”
                                      “What?”
                         “The sonabitches are SHORT!”

An individual man’s nature is so instinctively stable that it is most difficult for him to  effect any  change to himself.
An individual man’s mental nature is so inherently stable that it is a miracle if
he ever effects any even apparent change therein.

Other than taking care of the essentials,
getting to the bottom of things is the only fun thing a person can do alone.

One man’s secret view amongst himself is:
“Not only do I not want to hear what you think about anything,
I don’t even like hearing me think that.

What d’ya think of that?!” --  he axles himself in concussion.

Anything that makes you angry  --  you are wrong about.

Since there is no shortage of less-than-fully-pleasant-things
that will happen to you (and everyone else) in life,
why add to it by  suffering over what you are.

Troops believe kings go to war because of principles --
                                              but it's always over power.

A man asked a mystic teacher:
“What is the most important thing for a man in your position?”
  “Above all: never try yourself to do the stuff you talk to others about.”
”Hey --  are you sure you’re a guru.”
   “Didn’t what I just say prove it.”

Here’s the set up:
life makes all men feel they should be other than they are;
life makes everyone want to change;
life makes most men try to change;
no one can change,
but life makes men keep trying.

You will grant yourself the right to do more
if you do not ever say what you will and will not do.

He who teaches and does not himself learn --  is no teacher.
The only lessons worth the time of the few
will come from one offering them simply to entertain himself.

All knowledge of man’s inner reality is but pleasant diversion.

The cure for other people’s stupidity is your ignoring it.

One man’s prescription: “Don’t let your thoughts put the shuck on ya  –
not ‘less they’s willin' to also furnish the shuck antidote.

.......................Yeah, hold your breath on that one,” he adds under his breath.

A man who knows little will repeat it often.....as may one who knows a lot.......
.......so how can you tell the two apart?                  "Yikes!   --   O, my heart!"

As a 99 year old mystic mused:
“I can no longer be certain whether I continue to become even more enlightened,
or if I am just getting extremely old.”

A man not quite sure what some of it means is no where;
while one who is definitely not sure what it all means is almost there.
                                                                                  (‘Course you can’t let on, or it don’t count.)

To some, there is no sound as sweet and informative as silence.

And one chap says: “A man who needs proverbs to live by is a
sorry-ass-excuse for a man   --   hell, a man who needs anything to, live-by!
A man either understands how to live or he doesn’t;
a real man does  --  most men don’t,
which accounts for all the proverbs, maxims, religions & philosophies in the world."

In declining a proffered novel, a man noted:
“I don’t read fiction  --   I live fiction!”
