In
life there are those who construct and those who create;
those
who produce something tangible and those who do not;
those
who turn out things that are useful, (always physical),
and
those who create things that are entertaining, (non physical);
the
difference between constructing and creating is clear,
but
through disinterest therein, it is commonly blurred in men’s minds.
The
first group are builders and manufacturers, putting together
already
existing materials in ways that physically benefit man;
the
second group are entertainers, creating stories out of but air
that
give men’s minds something to think about when they are not building,
and
constructing.
Constructors
produce things that serve man’s physical needs and comfort;
entertainers
likewise serve a need in man, not of the same order as farmers,
and
weavers, but man hungers for mental distraction in addition to food and
clothes, thus non tangibly do priests, writers, psychologists, singers
& actors provide for man.
On
one planet, in the nascent days of their civilization, as these two groups
began to naturally form, and it was realized that one of them produced
things that you could see and touch, and the other turned out nothing but
words,
they
banned the latter, (their civilization soon disappeared,
[save for an aberrant few --
whose numbers were too small to be of any consequence]).
You
either are self sufficient, or
you
depend for your literal survival on constructors, and manufacturers;
people
you pay to work on materials in our physical environment,
and
then make available for your use;
you
are either mentally self sufficient, or else
you
depend on other people’s words to entertain and sustain your inner life;
for
a normal, civilized man, both of these are in play:
he
relies on others to produce his food and shelter;
he
relies on others to provide what he thinks about,
(and
of course, others rely on others, and all others are totally dependent
on whatever life mentally provides for man, but to talk about the matter,
we have to arbitrarily jump in some where, and today, this is the where).
You
have your occupation, and from its salary, pay others to provide the things
necessary for you to stay alive and be able to pursue your work;
you
also have the unwritten, unspecified job of thinking -- all
the time thinking --
On
one planet, in the inchoate days of their civilization,
an
idea issued from the common mass mind of its creatures,
of
an all-wise, supernatural rose which governed their lives,
and
for a while, one’s suitability-for and acceptance-by society
was
determined by how you answered the question:
“Do
you or do you not believe in the existence of the rose?”
until
someone noted that if any meaningful question was in order it was:
“Do
you not remember from where the very idea ot the rose came?”
This
world so prospered that it disappeared from the awareness of other ones.
Second Stanza
In
your thoughts there are those who construct and those who create;
those
thoughts which produce something tangible and those which do not;
those
which turn out things that are useful,
(always regarding
something in the physical world),
and
those which create things that are but entertaining,
(confined always
to your inner world);
the
difference between constructing and creating is clear,
but
though disinterest therein, it is commonly blurred in men’s awareness.
The
first type of thoughts are builders and manufacturers,
planning
ways of putting together already existing materials to physically benefit
you;
the
second kind of thoughts are entertainers,
creating
stories out of nothing but sound and imagination,
which
give you something to think about
when
you are not thinking about building and constructing.
Construction
thoughts produce things that serve your physical needs and comfort;
entertainment
thoughts likewise serve a need -- in ordinary men,
but
if the distinction between the two is not adamantly clear to you,
along
with the dazzling realization of how stridently things are arranged to
keep
it from you,
you
are reading these words for entertainment,
and
not for the purpose of doing anything useful for yourself.

......which is okay, but why delude yourself even further.
