When you were seven years old all you did was eat, sleep, play, and day dream;
if you are now thirty seven all you do is eat, sleep, play-at-an-occupation,
and day dream,
but now you have the power to act on your day dreams,
and have become hazy about their nature;
other than for size, this is the only difference between you as a child,
and you now as an adult.
The adults around you do not see it this way;
their day dreams run to the contrary,
and that is the distinguishing feature of day dreams:
                they can go anywhere  --  and do anything.

When you were seven you day dreamed of being a ball player or a ballerina,
and much of your play time was devoted to imitation thereof,
and even when not physically so involved, you awoke in the morning
already brimming with day dreams about your particular interest,
anxious to get through breakfast so you could meet your friends,
and begin the day’s play as urged by your dreams.
A sweet life --  considered by adults, (somewhat condescendingly),
as a time of, Innocence; simple children gaily playing their days away,
unaware of the complex, harsh realities of adulthood awaiting them.
Adults are larger, (and with more complicated sex habits), but that is the only difference between them and children............well, and the stress of unfulfilled day dreams.
                                                                                   (Just who is the practicing dunce in this duo?)

When a child is called in  from his backyard basketball play to have dinner,
he accepts the interruption with a brief, “Ah, shucks”
and a minute later is at the table eating, his momentary disappointment forgotten;
but do not carry a live weasel in your pocket for the time it would take you to find
a similar case wherein an adult has left his game of stock brokering
to join a client for lunch;
this is a place where the day dreams driving what was formally play activity
have become a deadly serious business.

No one knows how they got here;
one day you suddenly just found yourself here,
which was the day your consciously retrievable memory kicked in,
(which could also be noted as the general era in which you became a conscious, full functioning human being);
since then you have been driven by two separately identifiable forces;
instinct and day dreams;
instinct directs, in children and adults: eating and sleeping and pure sex;
day dreaming drives everything else.
(Again, the adults of the world would dispute this  --
           their day dreams tell them they should.)

Adults say they have interests --  quite important interests  –
which are completely unknown and beyond the understanding of children;
spiritual interests: religion;
cultural interests: arts;
intellectual interests: education, and that of reputation;
the interest of where one feels they stand socially in the eyes of their peers,
it is here where the true aim of wealth and power is found.
Children play ball while day dreaming of the fun it will be
when they are older and larger enough to play like the pros;
adults play business while day dreaming of the envious stress it will cause their acquaintances when they become richer and more successful than them,
(though this virus affects handler and recipient equally),
but adults have forgotten that it is all play they engage in
after they get out of bed in the morning, between meals,
(‘course did they not do so, civilization would go as quickly to shreds as would your pocket
                                                             should you secrete a weasel therein.)

Children accept play for play,
and children do not mistake day dreaming for something else;
adults clearly enjoy repeating the statement that
children cannot distinguish properly between their day dreams and reality,
but they must cover their eyes, stop up their ears and hold their noses while doing so,  for it is plainly not true (and it seems to help them get this canard out with a straight face
if they speak in patronizing and authoritative tones).
It is adults who cannot, or at least --  do not distinguish between
their day dreams and reality, (which is to say they confuse an inner reality with an outer one).
“Daddy --  why this unprovoked attack on perfectly innocent and honest adults?”
   “I do not know --  I am as astounded by it as you!”
“Daddy  --   I don’t think so!   You’re just trying to jerk me around again.”
      “Why in the world would I ever do that, sweet cakes?!”
“Daddy, I think you know the answer to that just as well as I do.”
     “Humm.........now where was I?.............you’ve made Daddy lose his place…”

All sorts of commonly accepted, even lauded, adult activities have made
daddies lose their place in distinguishing between their day dreams, and reality
(inner and outer  reality,  and again note:
without this: no civilization in which for adults to frolic and pass their post childhood years).
From one ad hoc perspective, (profitable for the few),
the purpose of all activities beyond eating and sleeping is to:
blend day dreams with outer reality;
from this take, that is the actual, unspecified aim of: religion, politics, art, education, economics, sports, music, literature, and gossip, (social position based on reputation).

And rather than taking this as a yet another attempt to portray man as a fool,
adopt an alternative viable viewing position:
that men are aware of this continual blending of their day dreams with
the hard edged reality of outer reality, and just go along with the game
as it is presented to them and as they are apparently forced to play it,
and that it is only the few, (those with an interest in the minority activity commonly called by such names as: Awakening; Achieving-Enlightenment; Discovering-The-Secret,
and, Being-Liberated), who take the majority’s seemingly unrecognized commingling of day dreams and reality  --  seriously!
Huh?!.........Hey, what d’ya say?!.......they are the only ones who give evidence of
even noticing it  --  much less being bothered by it.
From this, defensible-based-on-observable-facts vantage point,
the rest of humanity  -- living in a daily world made up in part of day dreams  --
are in the right (speaking figuratively) and those wanting to awaken and separate themselves from this dream world are in the wrong (figuratively),
after all: what does the common, majority arrangement in any situation signify,
                                     if not that that is how life/nature presently prefers it to be?!

Those with ThatCertainInterest born do not by their temperament,
by any measure see the situation so;
as soon as they are exposed to the notion that man,
while believing himself fully conscious,
lives actually in a dream,
but that through certain efforts, can awaken there from  --
they instantly embrace it, as is natural for them,
and without doubt, the picture is well founded in reality;
ordinary, everyday men and women; your family, neighbors and friends;
the people who appear to run the world; the political, religious and business leaders, one and all live a life wherein is blended --  without distinguishing notice or comment --  their inner, childlike day dreams
with the outer, adult presumed reality, and on this basis (as you can observe)
things move along quite well (at least better than they do for a rat or a slug  --   from the human view).

The few (totally beyond their intention or control) have, from the view supra offered,
made the affair, in their minds, into a bigger deal than the facts support,
(this too is understandable and predictable in that no one’s mind really knows what to make of anything concerning the inner reality),
but in this specific instance,
those with that innate, unshakable sensation of being tied up in some sort of invisible straight jacket have overblown, far-too-exotic day dreams of the nature of said apparel.

When you were seven years old all you did was eat, sleep, play, and day dream;
now thirty seven and still all you do is eat, sleep, play-at-an-occupation, and day dream;
but now you have the power to act on your day dreams,
and by aging have naturally become hazy & lazy about their nature,
mechanically failing, in your mind, to personally mark the clear distinction between
day dreams and reality;
between your day dreams  --  your and man’s necessary, inner reality  --
and the outer reality.

If you scrape the metaphysical paint off the floor, it all gets down to:
not taking the day dreams natural in every man’s mind for the reality of your senses:

living with this awareness is living awake; in the light,
                             and loosed from imaginary shackles.

More than this is more day dreams.
