To be of ordinary mind, (and inordinately frustrated, if you are one of the few),
is to not recognize the particular origin of specific things;
all frustration, (other than from starvation, sleep deprivation, or terminal horniness), arises from men un analytically attributing to a peculiar human activity
a source from which it did not come.

For a person attempting to rid permanently from his head
the meaningless mish mash of electrical impulses passing for personal thoughts,
this situation has two facets;
the first one is nearly impossible for man’s natural born mind to ever grasp,
and the second is even more nearly impossibler,
(but remember, everyone told Thomas Edison that he would never fly,
so why let anything stop you in non essential pursuits,
the embalmer will do that soon enough where it really counts.)

Mind’s job is to collect information  --  determine whether it is pertinent, and if so,
pass it along to muscles.
Mind receives information from two separate and distinct sources,
but marks no consistent discrimination there about;
the operation in the brain men call the mind is, along with the rest of a man’s body, constantly receiving information from the outside environment in which he lives,
and then the mind --  strictly on its own now  --
also receives a ceaseless flow of “information,” (in quotes), not from the outside world, but from the inside --  apparently, (in quotes) from itself.
Now this is strictly ridiculous,
(which may be why routine men & minds never look in its direction),
but there it is!  --
all over the everyday life of men in spite of its all star spangled ridiculousness,
(but we will allow this little sticky bun to slide for the moment,
and more closely examine the first raised abrasion).

The ordinary mind with which ordinary people are born,
unfalteringly for a man’s lifetime habitually fails to notice and take into account,
under anything less than life threatening circumstances,
(at which times it has no say in the matter),
the clear fact that some of the information it receives is coming from
the world of physical conditions outside the man, while other information it receives,
(if even cursorily noted), is clearly not coming from there, but rather seems to be spontaneously issuing from within the brain itself.
The two go on endlessly and simultaneously;
overlapping one another in conscious awareness from second to semi second,
but clearly coming from two separate sources,
if consciousness is forced to look at the matter.

Everything that men ever argue over,
(if it not be edible, plantable or fuckable), arises from them not recognizing,
and identifying from which of the two quite distinct sources
the subject of their impending contention comes:
doing so would extract the slap from slapstick, and let the wind out of windbags.
World leaders, (in weightless commas), will declare they are engaged in a
deadly serious war over a railroad --  when in fact
it is all about The Little Engine That Could.

When the mind is running in man’s normal, non emergency mode
its tendency is to give over its conscious attention entirely to
the information coming from within itself;
thus a man, even in the midst of a crowd, is, (in a most real sense),
largely cut off from his physical environment,
as though huddled up alone in a dark, silent closet in his head with all his attention, other than the minimal needed for him to physically navigate safely,
given to the reception of information that seems to be coming from his own mind.
There is no need to call upon exotic or metaphysical terminologies –
this is precisely what the so-called mystics of human history refer to as:
being asleep; living in a dream; being unenlightened, or simply ignorant and confused.

There is nothing anyone can find that is wrong, (repeat of quote marks),
with routine human hobbies,
(such as reading fairy tales & children's stories about gods & determined locomotives),
but if, (for some strange, unnatural reason), you want to make a personal,
factually accurate survey of the terrain of the life-land in which you were born,
you can never do so without keeping clear and constant track
of whether the particular information your mind is receiving and prepared to process
is coming from the environment, or from your own mind.
You can surely realize instantly, (now that it has been pointed out to you),
the necessity for marking this distinction, for unless you do so --  why........well,
you can readily see the endless confusion to your map making that will result,
(you cannot draw the correct boundaries of a property from information you receive from the weather bureau.)
This is not at all difficult to see  --  while you are thinking about it  –
what is purt near impossible is to  --  keep thinking about it.

The ordinary mind does not want to think about it:
the ordinary mind is not wired nor programmed to think about it;
thinking about it in fact, interferes directly with what your ordinary mind
ordinary refers to as, “thinking” --  (this time in LARGE quotation marks).

The thought outlet in the brain’s conscious operations that men call, mind
cannot carry on its natural responsibilityfor routine human thinking
while thinking about what has here today been noted;
ordinary thinking & thinking about the two sources of information about which to think are completely incompatible, and in any event,
pursuit of the latter would not reward an ordinary man & his ordinary mind.
The only purpose to be served by the chasing and investigation of this matter
is to grease up a secretive fellow here and there who  --   above all things,
(save of course: a hearty meal, a hot chick and a cold brewsky,
[insert quotations in that clause at your discretion]),
wants to slip through cracks where there seems to be no cracks,
(waking up from the common human dream produces your own personal ones) --  so:
the first thing on today’s agenda for you should be:
look at, and keep on looking at the fact that every speck of information that
comes to your mind, and that your mind then wants to think about
comes either from the environment or apparently (“ “) from itself, until it,
( "it" being something we have neither the time, space nor brewskies to go into today), will suddenly strike you!  --
like being hit in the face with a whipped cream nebula.

It is SO astounding!   SO surprising!  SO amazing  --  simple and obvious,
that you may have to interrupt what you are doing for a moment and think to yourself: “Shit!  I can’t believe I’ve been this stupid!” (or something similar).

      After this --  no more confusion regarding why humans seem confused.

But, as earlier noted, this is just the first and easiest feature of the brand new problem  made up --  (that should be) --  presented here today;
the one to really cause contusions to your privates is the consideration of
the second facet, (ready?):
information that your mind receives that does not come from the environment comes from within itself  --   but, (and what comes after the “but” is applicable to, sensible to, and useful to only those who have conquered and fully mapped
all of the territory prior to the but)  --   but:
only a man still snoozing, (simply now on a higher ledge),
can accept the blatant bladder bag foolishness of the idea that the source of the information arising in, appearing in, coming from his own mind
really comes from his mind.
It is totally impossible to ever prove, (quotation dingies again) to a normal human mind, (hell, even usefully, show), that the thoughts which appear in it
obviously CANNOT be coming from it.
They obviously, (to a open eyed man) cannot be  --  and yet
the sane, well functioning minds of the six billion normal mortals all around you
will never see this;
have no interest in seeing this;
feel no need to see this,
not because they are dumb and you are smarter;
they merely have different, normal, (the majority always defining normal), minds
than the few.
And if you are one of the few -- and you do not in some fashion --  on your own --  consider and pursue this matter to its super sweet conclusion,
the bruises and sore spots all over your mental privates will never go away,
and you will always feel like you were just a few steps away from the prize;
that you could’ve been a contender if only somebody, (your dishonest fight manager), had “given-you-the-chance!” (take me to the bridge, maceoQuotation --  no,
make that the coda).

Hell, Rocky, DoingTheThing involves no one else giving you a chance –
or anything else, (including a hard time);
quick, ax yourself: Where does a “chance” come from?  --  from the environment,
or from your own mind?
Not many neural pugilists reach middle age without being so punch drunk from
a life time of distorted notions about what TheThing really is
to ever enjoy the always awaiting, “ultimate-fruits-of-their-labor,”
(a little harmless puffery for the children in our audience).

Damn near everybody gets off the train while there’s still track ahead,
but then again: damn hardly anybody ever gets on the train to begin with,
so as always: life gets the last sandwich     --     since life made the meal.

.......(oh, P.S. turns out that life has nothing against a few people joining it in the kitchen.)
