One of the few things concerning intelligence of which you can be certain is that a man who periodically points out how intelligent he is, is.....
(well, you can finish this for yourself surely..................right?)

- - -

The collective’s concerns are always thus:
“The problems facing our country, our religion, our culture, our party”
while the keen edged man is interested only in how things are affecting him.

- - -

Those things which men need gods to tell them are the unrecognized
keys to everything that the brain keeps trying to give to itself.

(Query:
How can something so totally irrational be the very thing you are searching for?)

- - -

A friend of idiocy is himself an idiot;
he a medium for foolishness is himself a fool.

The silent man, attempting to pass along nothing
has his hand on the key whether he realizes it or not.

“Pa --  if thoughts are awash in trivialities and feelings are the basis of all thoughts,
then are man’s feelings bathed in trivialities?”
   “No son, not when they start out......"

- - -

Only a man who knows how to truly think cares not what others do.

A mentally free man fully grants the privilege to everyone else.

Only the mentally handicapped (idiots) object to what other men think and say,
(which is in fact the principal, though unwritten definition of idiocy.)

Men who write descriptions of women’s inner life and wants
proclaim their stupor;
not as much however as sleepers who describe the awakened.

“Pa --  is that why every time you mention what an awakened man would do or think you always add that you do not know what you are talking about?”
      “I never do that!.................but I should......................shouldn’t I.”

CONVERSATIONS

“I’m an ordinary man  --  and proud of it!”
     “Well what else does an ordinary man have?! ”
     ...............”I’m not sure I get what you mean?”
    “That’s 'cause, (as you said, ole chum)  --   you’re ordinary.”

Real feelings, danger carry;

                                                    best be feelings, feelings feigned.

The only secure man is he, secretly insincere.

Ye save ye self by feeling not seriously that which life bids.

Re The Taking Of Non Essential Thought Seriously

What if the few wanting to wake up are actually the only ones who do take the mind’s piddlings seriously!?!
.....(“Yikes!  --  that would turn the whole bizness upside down
        and shake out all the superfluous stuff.
                 Ooooo!  –  I don’t think we can have that!”)

- - -

As opposed to fish and pedal digit gangrene;
consciousness rots from the middle outward;
thus the clear headed man’s all encompassing embrace of everything.

- - -

The three most important things to think about if you want to wake up are:
money, health, and reputation.
.....(If you have any time left over after those you can include:
      your appearance, god, and death.
              [If you need still more to do then think about how stupid people are.])

CONVERSATIONS

“An awakened man is like a vast empty plain, completely filled with Mongols.”
      “Mongooses?”
“Mongols.”
      “Oh.”

- - -

Fact: A joke is not funny if it hurts someone;
fact: a joke is not funny unless it is true;
fact: what hurts someone is always true;
fact: “So where does that leave us?”  he asked.

- - -

Mind overplays its own importance  --
seeing itself (for instance) as an instigator rather than an interpreter.

Question: How comes vanity to be called a sin? --
                  in what way is stupidity an evil deed?

                  Why in fact are there the two different things of: crimes and sins?

- - -

Fate holds down the fool while personal felonies raise up the powerful,
(or so goes the story of the fools);
sloth stymies the poor while industry promotes the rich,
(or so goes the story of you know who);
being confused keeps the ordinary in line while those who have caught on have wandered away and are off over there somewhere  --
-- not paying any attention at all to what we are talking about here.

- - -

They who dislike many things have many things to dislike them.

They who many things dislike are by many things disliked.

.....(Fair is fair  --   and even when reversed, its truth still holds.)

CONVERSATIONS

“Only by privately talking to myself incessantly am I able to speak
contemporaneously to others.”
    “Is that true?”
“Well, obviously not  --  just consider your own case.”

 IN YOUR HEAD  --  AND ON THE NAIL HEAD DEAD, (on, that is)

“Pa”
   “Yes?”
“If I had it all to do over, I wouldn’t give fifteen cents to know you again.”
   “I know.”
“But I wouldn’t take a million dollars for what having known you has done for me.”
   “I believe you mean: ‘done TO you’.”
“Ah! -- that’s right of course, but don’t you really mean: ‘done to US’?”
    “Touche!  Commander Tutwyler    --      too   fuckin’  shay.”

Sic transit gloria goobers.
