THE MOOT QUESTION OF PRODUCT QUALITY
On
one world is a machine that has only two positions:
it
is either endlessly producing meaningless nick knacks,
or
is in idle;
some
people try to take control of what products it produces,
and
others try to shut it off -- both chase unicorns;
a
few (with no taste for Atlantis architecture) opt for accepting the idle
position, but find that it can only be maintained
by
holding constantly, the position lever;
let
go for a moment -- and the machine is instantly back to producing the ceaseless
stream of, who-knows-whats.
THE OUTSIDER
There
was an orphan who lived amidst a large number of
other
people with whom he had so little in common
that
he never felt even any figurative kinship with them.
He
found, trying to fit in, impossible,
and
same so, attempting to change them.
He
eventually decided to abandon them,
realizing
that he only, truly felt
like himself -- and,
only
enjoyed
himself -- when
he
was by
himself;
but
no matter where he went, they always tagged along.
After
many years of frustrating tries & failures
he
stumbled upon the consolatory course:
as
long as he did not think about them --
he
did not think about them -- and was by himself
--
-- and was then
-- himself.
THE
MESSENGER’S PRESUMPTUOUS SELF-IMPORTANCE, OR:
THE IMPOTENCY OF BEING A DELIVERYMAN
Back
when communication depended on foot travel,
messengers
were assigned to bring news from battlefields,
and
foreign lands, back to the city,
and
one man, after having several times delivered
news
of momentous importance from afar back to the people,
began
to assume an air of pompous gravitas,
and
behind his back, became the laughingstock of the city.
His
mouth being the medium for words of significance,
his
mind began believing it, the author.
This
remains true today, both in broadcast journalism,
and in your head.
SELF-KIDNAPPING
While
you remain victim of the: “I-am-trying-to-change-I” ill,
you
attempt to affect something that is not there.
It
is the: “There-is-more-than-the-one-of-me-saying-this” disease,
for
which there is no cure --
other
than realizing that all you are is
whatever
is going on in your consciousness at this very moment as you are hearing
this.
NEVER
MIND
It
does not matter what you complain about
--
--
only that you complain;
as
with many things done by consciousness:
it
is the process
that is important -- not its apparent target.
Any words which help a man see through words are useful --
-- in helping him eventually see through everything.
